<Taima Wardens> - The Official 420chan WoW Guild by Kirtaner !Ub4TCdRjOM - Wed, 16 Nov 2011 13:11:40 EST ID:IlAM6rec No.4164 Sticky Report Reply Quick Reply

Hey there /2/, it's been a while but here's another recruitment thread for <Taima Wardens>, the official 420chan guild.

US-Archimonde-Horde, Armory link here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/guild/archimonde/Taima%20Wardens/ - Currently Level 14

The guild has been moderately active these last few months but we want to step things back up. For those of you that joined months ago and only signed on once, what the hell! There are 230 guild members at the time of writing but most of you only showed up a small handful of times. Then there's the handful of awesome people that have stayed active since the beginning. We need more of you like that.

Applying to join the guild through the in-game guild request system isn't really the way to go - the system is limited, doesn't automatically notify officers you have applied, and you must be online when someone happens to notice your application for us to actually invite you. Therefore it is best to attempt whispering a current member to get a guild invite, or posting in this thread with your character information and coordinating with a member to get invited.

Could we please have another GW2 thread? I miss you guys.

This game seems to be getting better and better update of information. Now that people such as TotalBiscuit and Rock Paper Shotgun have been confirmed for the closed beta, we will probably see a massive influx of information leaking about this game.

I feel the opposite.
Champions Online is just City of Heroes gone wrong, at least CoH has an end game and better power selections.

Either way, DC Universe Online.

Champions has a target system and hotbar, DC Universe is more action based.

However if you play Champions and then DC Universe you'll kinda go WTF at the lack of customization which is key in a super hero game. DCU is much too limiting. So for example if you makes a guy with fire powers, he's gonna be the same as another character with fire powers.

On top of that, you're just a cheap "Super hero" at that. You get your powers from fucking Nanobytes. And on top of that they are powers of an already existing super hero according to the story. Might as well be called Sidekick online too with all the bitch work you're doing, Go Champions. At least you're a real hero there.

Alright, here's how this works for those of you who haven't seen it yet. You get as far as you can leveling, without equipping anything better than a white. No talents, no specializations, no tradeskills except for first aid. All leveling must be done solo, you may not send gold from another toon, you can group up for portals. No addons that make the game easier to play (cooldown timers, combustionhelper, CTH raid frames, etc.). No buffs, except those that you can apply to yourself. No elixers, potions, consumables of any kind that provide a buff (you can eat normal food, but if you get well fed from it, it's out.) The only server you can make the toon on is Wyrmrest Accord.

For further information on the rules, check http://wowironman.com/

Oh, and when you die, you're disqualified. Go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect 200.

Post updates for yourself here, so that 420channers can track each others progress easily. Please don't post every time you ding, just when you start a character, hit a 10 level increment, or die.

I'm currently starting a fresh toon, Ironjericho. Feel free to whisper me if you have any questions.

So, I've been playing world of warcraft since about 2 months before the AQ gate opening in vanilla. About 6 months ago, I was annoyed at not having and gold and I REALLY wanted a vial of the sands. My warrior was already JC/mining.

I looked up some stuff online, spent 3 hours farming ore in Twilight Highlands, dropped mining and got alchemy, already had a paladin with enchanting.

Did the ore shuffle, bought more ore, did it more.

I spent about 5 months doing this, at my peak I was spending about 70k a day on materials to flip.

I'm now at a little over 3.6 million gold spread across a few characters and a bank toon. I have every buyable mount and mini-pet, and I've bought everyone in my guild (small guild of friends) a vial of the sands and mechano-hog.

I'm bored.

I've stopped the profession stuff, just selling off the last 4 or 5 thousand gems I have stocked up and a few last enchanting scrolls.

I don't really remember how to play. I used to be pretty good. Got around 2k arena in BC with a spriest/rogue combo, raided for a while in BC but never really took it seriously (only finally killed Kael after the nerfs and when you no longer needed to kill him and Vashj to get into Hyjal/BT)

I've, multiple times, bought every gem on the AH and relisted them for 4x the price, then kept it that way for 12-18 hours.

Same with glyphs.

Once I bought everything on the AH that wasn't like a small rock for 100,000g or something, deleted half of it, and made people treat me like a personal vendor.

Can't really think of much else to do with it.

Google JC shuffle, obsidium shuffle, or elementium shuffle.

Do what they tell you, do it more.

Buy lots of maelstrom crystals

Keep multiple scrolls of every enchant up all the time.

Use excess hypnotic dust to make bags with cloth you buy.

Make 15-20x of every glyph, keep 3 or so up of each one all the time.

Make 40-60 of every flask, burn potion and elixir and keep them up all the time.

I should also add, you won't be making much if you do it right now, near the end of an expansion.

Most of my gold came from patch days, people replacing gear and buying new gems and enchants, and a couple weeks after the rush died down.

4.2 release day I made 800k.

I stopped playing wow a while ago, but a lot of that isn't correct any more. Did they revert the paladin changes that made them actually need some skill since 4.1? (some anyway). I agree with a lot of what you said but not the class rundown.

The important thing is this: Play a hybrid. You can fill 2 roles you get to have twice as much fun learning 2 playstyles and you are twice as useful. It's the good shit. Playing a pure DPS class is pointless. If you pick warlock (great fun to play) you will always be pointless, you're inferior DPS (because only mages can stay on the top of the charts for sucessive patches and keep getting buffs) and you can't just do something else. Rogues all but died out when I played. They were even worse than warlocks (also very under represented due to their lack of love from the devs) in raids but they survived because they break pvp.

Having played one or two other MMOs, wow rogues are literally game changers to an unprecedented extent. If you want to pvp go priest, mage or rogue. If you want to pve, go druid or paladin, or mage if you want to be pure DPS. As a druid or paladin if you get bored of one role you can just respec grab gear and do another, without sinking 100+ hours into levelling again, and your reputations will be intact too (so no grinding those either).

Actually I do sort of agree, to tank/heal you need to be a hybrid. Seriously, play a hybrid.

Of course I left wow to play rift and didn't look back, it did awaken me to how good being a hybrid is. Seriously, I know I'm ranting but being able to fill completely different roles for a group makes you feel like a hero and it makes picking a raid more flexible, and you can fine tune the group on a fight by fight basis when you have hybrids.

NCsoft's Truly Free. (Lineage 2, and soon Aion) by Cyril Crizzlecocke - Wed, 22 Feb 2012 09:48:43 EST ID:5Q2Es5X2 No.6023 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

Truly Free means that other than L2 Store items, Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction is completely free to play. There are no limits on access to character creation, races, classes, skills, zones, bosses, quests, clans, crafting, warehouse, auction house, chat, mail, forums, customer support, and so on. This more closely resembles the Freemium model than the typical ‘Free to Play’ model used by other MMOs. The L2 Store will offer items to supplement your gameplay in the form of XP and Skill Point boosts, potions, buffs and other consumable supplies, as well as cosmetic items and hunting helpers…all of which are completely optional.

Well, what are your thoughts about it? I played lineage 2 a long time ago, wouldn't bother to try it again, but i'd love to give Aion a shot. My friend just got into Lineage again now that is f2p and he said that they basically pump you up with items and buffs until you're close to high end. (lvl 75)

I love what they're doing, they're basically force-populating the high level zones for pvp, sieges and such.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

Does anyone play H&H? It's a sandbox MMO, I would compare it to a 2D minecraft where you have to survive. It's based around skill sets and experience gain and stats.

Recently (last week) the world was reset so everyone has had a fresh start. Me and my friends started a village, they have played before but I'm new. We got raided and killed so we had to set up borders and build a wall.

The game is a pain in the ass and very time consuming, but has been an interesting and addicting experience. It's caused me some rage, not sure if I like the game or not but I definitely want to keep playing it.

http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19114 is a link to a good guide for beginning players, but there are tons of resources.

Check it out, give it a chance. If you like it maybe we can join forces :)

this. i stared playing this game around two years ago when world 1 was started. the above has always been true. in my experience, there are three ways to play this game.

  1. play with a group of close friends. you survive for a long time but eventually grow bored because you finally get your own mine and run out of shit to do.

2. join a village until some asshole gets in and steals/destroys everything.

3. play by yourself as a paranoid hermit and eventually be bulldozed by russians.
