people are just silent. honestly a lot of the time it feels like im playing with robots. i can join for a dungeon/skirmish/whatever, ocasionally say things, ocasionally dont, ocasionally join with my friend and chat with them a bit in the party channel. Either way it seems to be that most times the ENTIRE party is absolutely silent, for the entirety of the dungeon. they also do mediocre

From what I hear, 420chan can barely keep a guild even on retail WoW, so I'd guess that the chances of a 420chan guild on a private server are low. That said, I've seen 420bros posting about ED and they most likely have guilds that they can help you get into.

I dunno if many 420chan users would identify themselves as such, but the future has a guild on there. It's called "The Vidya" and seems to be one of the biggest guilds on the server.
I'm a "member" of a guild called Peace Pipe Pals, which kind of has a stoner thing but really it's just a leveling/Social guild for people who aren't in a guild already. There chat is mostly OK, I have a feeling the vidya would be too full of "murloc pls" and "tfw server downtime" like world chat sometimes gets.

I recently started playing there. Made a Dorf pally. Planning on making an all dorf guild called "Strike The Earth". Because every one has already "beaten" vanilla wow, we will do this with all Dorfs as a sort of challenge mode. Plus we can speak in Dwarvish all day and insult others who cant understand it.

There was an all dwarf RP guild on my server (Bleeding Hollow) back during vanilla. They actually did pretty well. I don't think they ever managed to fully clear naxx though.

The quickest way to level is to 100% a zone which includes completing all heart quests as well as discovering all waypoints, vistas, and skill points. You get a special chest upon completing a zone which has additional exp, karma, money, and things like gear or maybe a Black Lion Key.

The story does give good exp and rewards but it can be a bit slow because of all the cutscenes and instance loading.

Crafting is simple once you get the hang of it. I'd recommend starting out with cooking because of the sheer number of ingredients you'll be obtaining from regular play.
Go to the discovery tab and start trying to combine ingredients. Some recipes will require only two ingredients but others can require up to four.
For example, 1 Jug of Water + 1 Bag of Flour + 1 Packet of Yeast = 1 Loaf of Bread. Once you discover that recipe, it will be saved in the Recipes tab on the left of the cooking screen where you can select it and make more.

If you're just looking for a time sink and want something different from WoW, I'd definitely recommend picking up GW2. You only pay for it once so if you end up getting bored, you can just walk away and easily come back a few months down the line if they add new content that excites you.

Yeah, its faction based though sadly. Even so the pvp is pretty crazy due to the metagame being so complicated. Instead of a warrior tanky guy your warrior might be part magic, part tank and part pet based fighter. Figuring out who's running what spec and whether or not you can take them out is part of the charm.

For example my thief was tanky as fuck with alot of mobility and magic based damage. I could burst down most everything but other tanks. My mage was a chloro/necro/warlock who would stack aoe dots and drains on a target healing off of all damage dealt along with aoe party heals and HoTs. One stun and I was toast.

I just made an account on Emerald Dream, I was on Valkyrie/Scriptcraft before but the lack of English speakers and constant server crashes made me quit.

I think Emerald Dream is a great project though and so far no issues like there were on Scriptcraft/Valkyrie (ultra fast spawn for some mobs, i.e Deadmines was difficult as fuck to beat because of it).

I'd recommend it, some friends and I just started playing and I've seen other people starting to come to it, probably lots frustrated with other vanilla servers.
