The + symbol looking ones are NPC ships, in this case a lot of them are CONCORD, or empire space police. They take out any criminals in highsec (high security) systems. The white boxes that look like they're surrounding something (kinda like [ ] ) are players, and the small symbols inside of those - the yellow/orange/red negative signs and skulls denote each individual player's security status. There was some participation from TRIBE, but that wasn't anything big. I think TEST assumes that we will grow into something good and actually be worthwhile allies in the long run, but that is to be seen. Personally I doubt it a little

They're a nice bunch of lads, lend T1 ships and there is a war going on + fleet action everyday (Incursion, PvP, wormholes, rookiee ships gang rapes). I don't like how focused on teamwork this game it is. I know it's an MMO but I can play, let's say, Star Trek Online or Warcraft for hours without ever having to interact with another person. EVE Online is obviously a very different game, but it's too social for me and requires players to be far too involved with other players. Yes. Goons and the CFC (cluster fuck coalition, the group of alliances the goons have allied them selves with) are essentially the "LOL SO RANDUM XD the future" of the galaxy. They accept any one and every one. Because if there is one flaw to eve combat is if you get enough numbers you can win most fights if you use guerrilla warfare tactics.

Go into any test system and all you hear is chest beating knuckle draggers who the second they realize your in local will undock 50 man fleets to take out one enemy.
This happens to me regularly. They undock super capitals, 40 man Battle cruiser gangs and talk smack in local so hard.
The whole while picking off easy kills.

Then when they manage to blob me with said 50 man battle cruiser gang or what ever (im in an interceptor) they act like they've won the gold medal at pvp. Then 4 hours latter a CTA fleet will come and wreck them again.

Then they pretend it never happens, or your some how playing into their master plan. They literally can not be dissuaded out of their ego's.

We launched the new tooltips a few days ago and we’ve gotten a lot of feedback. Getting quick access to useful information is pretty awesome and I’d love to extend this type of functionality to other modules down the road.

There are a few issues we need to deal with though, primarily relating to the speed at which it pops up and the positioning of the box. We’re going to add two things today: First of all, we’re going to add a one second delay when hovering over modules, so the pop-up is less intrusive. Secondly, we’re going to move the tooltip away from the module you hover over. These two changes should make the feature more useful and hopefully less intrusive for the players that are not interested in constantly seeing the tooltip.

Other changes we’re looking at:

Global tooltip delay setting: This would be an option to set a global delay to ALL tooltips, somewhere in the 0-3 second range. It would be located in the escape menu and is in my opinion the ideal solution. The downside is that it will affect a lot of different tooltips and making sure it works correctly across the game takes a bit of time.

Disabling tooltips completely. This would basically be a button that lets you disable all tooltips in the game by selecting it. That means no more stuff popping up anywhere, giving you a cleaner UI if you feel the tips aren't helpful anymore.

Re-vamping the size and content of the window. I’m wondering if we shouldn’t condense the gun and ammo part of the tooltip into a better format, so the tooltip still contains the same information, but takes up less space.

Disabling the module tooltip only. Adding an option to disable a single type of window isn't the best solution. We already have a myriad of options regarding the HUD and adding another one isn't really ideal. This is really using a chainsaw on the problem and while it definitely remains an option, it's certainly the least attractive one. I used to play this around release and still check back now and then. The gameplay has stayed the same but the mentality of players has totally changed. Killmails/Killboards are the worst thing that happened to EVE, it became a numberfest overnight.

An overwhelming amount of players just care about who has the best kill-death ratio. Nobody is willing to take risks anymore.

Second is an ingame mechanic- ECM drones, that makes the very little time I have to roam, into an almost futile extreme-uphill constant climb, at least to the way I like to play.

My true love of Eve is solo PvP. I like small gangs but as long as I play my main activity will be solo.
Out of every ~10 roams, in the way the game is right now, I get about 1 fight I can somehow manage solo. I am well aware that a pilot can get solo fights very quickly in highsec systems, per-arranging and agreeing on fights, but for me that completely kills the hunt and I lose the most important element that makes me adore this game- the hunt :-) So, 10 roams take very long to actually happen with the little time my real-life leaves for Eve, say about a week or two. And simply put, my experience is that ECM drones tend to take away that small 1/10 or 2/10 fights and kind of ruin that as well. So in other words, I did the math and figured out that the time I have to spend to get nice fights, spread throughout my RL, atm is just utterly unreasonable for me. That is my personal choice. If I had more time, as I used to have while making the Rupture videos, I honestly wouldn't mind continuing to fight against the odds.

I used to play EVE a while ago, but I only played it for a few months, been thinking of getting back into it, can anyone hit me up with a 21 day trial? I'll probably subscribe again after I get my feet off the ground.

I've lived in null-sec with a cool corp for the last year. But recently my RL friend who is big into low-sec FW had me come down to take advantage of the recent caldari LP dump, in which I made over 4billion ISK in the matter of a few days. Now that the dump is over, I was thinking of going back to my friends in null, but I'll be letting my buddy down if I leave.

How can I play with him and my other friends without making an alt? Low-sec gate guns will kill me if I PVP as a neut, and obviously I cant go back to null if I'm not blue. Ahhhhh I dont know what to do, please say theres a way!

Planning on getting the 420chan corp on its way, finally.

Would be a more or less relaxed corp, probably focusing on PvP (smaller roams) but also doing whatever we feel like doing (for example industry, pve, mining ops.)

I can fund (cheaper PvP ships, POS, BPO's, cheap mining ships, orca) and CEO the corp for starters atleast.

I think I will set up the corp first, then I'll post again (possibly a new thread). But first we have to decide a name.

Quite how trading is pvp heavy is beyond me.
Still I'd recomend wormholes, living in a C6. Depending on how many sites I generally spend an hour a day doing PVE stuff in a group, works out very reliably at 200 mil an hour, 250 an hour if we then go and gas and shit.
