RIP old thread.

So, the theory to Alpha's identity was wrong, but that was a pretty good issue. I especially liked one of the entries in the Letter Hacks.

So, that was some drama for nothing with with Gregory (probably?).
That was some pretty crazy shit with the Whisperers... Did Dante say... THOUSANDS? There's no way. No fucking way.
Did anyone else assume Lydia is a liar and manipulator?
They call their leader Alpha, their leader makes her own daughter call her Alpha, maybe rape is a common thing there, and Alpha is fucking nuts and just lets her daughter get raped because if she isn't good enough to get them off her back, she's just too beta?
That ending page with Carl was awesome and him going on an epic quest is also fucking awesome.

Where the fuck is Michonne?
Question for those who have seen issue 141's cover: Does Carl go free Negan for help on this journey?

this used to be one of the more active topics (low bar) but idk. TWD has been fairly interesting overall since All Out War or whatever but it's been such a slow burn except for a couple of issues here and there. Maybe it's better not to check it out month by month. It was a wild ride binging but goddamn it's hard to stay interested these days

Why do Comics need Ads in them?

Why do so many comics come without ads
while others are riddled with huge distracting, full-page-ads, in the middle of the comics!

...and people asky why cleaned comic-scans exist!

Worst thing is, you can't see if there are ads in the comic-books, since most are sold sealed nowadays!

I like DC and Marvel equally and hate Bendis I don't know how to feel about this. It'll be different, thats for sure. Hopefully Marvel uses this as an opportunity to move away from his style of comics rather than replacing him with a fucking Bendis wannabe hack fuck. Jason Aaron looked like a frontrunner a few years ago but now his books have gotten stale. Rick Re,ender and Hickman quit. Marvel is low on writers I give a fuck about now that DC has Tom King and Dan Abnett exclusively and Image has Hickman/Remender. I still follow Marvel books but the only good writer there (Al Ewing) cant get sales if his life depended on it.

Here's the thing. Ewing's only been given C-list fanboy projects.
Bendis got noticed for his work on Daredevil & Ultimate Spider-Man. from that he landed Avengers, and then X-Men, and then Iron Man and GotG. His career's been a perpetual motion machine. He always gets sales because he's always on the sellers which gets him put on more sellers.
All it takes is giving Ewing that opportunity. Which probably wouldn't happen anyway because his entire creative ethos is anathema to Queseda, Alonso, Brevoot, etc..

I currently live in a country where it is hard to find English translated comic book and graphic novels. They do exist in some of the larger bookshops but they are extremely expensive because they are imported.

Does anyone have a reccomended online shop for comics/graphic novels/manga? Obviously there's Amazon, but is there anything that's not as well known that I could be using?

Many thanks!

Iron-Man and X-men are fully raped by Brian Michael Bendis (the straight Ice-Man is now a faggot, and Iron-Man is fully fucked up)
Spider-Man is still getting raped by Dan Slott
Way to many SJW+LGBT propoganda, the stories are getting more and more disgusting...

Nota Bene: at least half of what makes Swampy so good was introduced by Moore. Wein's OG concept was a lot more bog-standard. Not to poo-poo it, he still created the base tone & the supporting cast. And some issues are genuinely great, like #10. Chilling, gripping stuff. You might say Moore owes his career to the atmosphere he replicated from that original run, which by proxy would make it responsible for the comic industry's entire development into serious stories & mature themes.
BTW he only did 13 issues, and the writer that picked off at 14 isn't nearly as good. Basically if you feel bored or underwhelmed at any point skip to Moore's run. Maybe a little before Moore's run (#16-19 instead of 20) for context & sweet art. For a Wein-written Swamp with Moore-continuity, see the aforementioned Swamp Thing miniseries he wrote recently.

Should probably add that the #13-14 Len Wein & his successor did is an entirely different comic run to the #16-20 ore & Bissette did. The former's Swamp Thing, from the 70s. The latter's Saga of the Swamp Thing a decade later in the 80s. Although if you were gonna read compilations like "Swamp Thing by Alan Moore" that details' irrelevant, they do it for you.

Matt returned for the 80s run, fell into a coma, and upon flat-lining was recruited to be Dream's Raven in Sandman.

I guess it was less wrapping up loose ends and more Len Wein's creating a New 52 version of Cable, one who is still basically an abusive drunk. He convinces Alec he has changed and that he wants to become the new Swamp Thing, saying he'll trade situations with Alec and Alec will get to go back to a human body while Cable runs the Green. Alec agrees, and betrayal happens soon after that. I forget how it ends but Alec gets his Swamp Thing body back somehow.

I've only read Vote Loki & Longshot Saves The Marvel Universe, but enjoyed both. GWEN is judt as good at continuity & metawank as them but has them beat in terms of characters & story, seeing as it's an open-ended ongoing with an original cast & concept instead of a mini.
