I was involved in the creation of this, before aight-chan's /co/ board went completely alt-right troll board, so there's significantly more knowledge displayed of 80's independent titles than they should be able to take credit for.

How the fuck is Transmetropolitan "adventure" come on.
>Drama
>Serenity
HEH

...Oh shit someone cited Power Pack?! Any story behind that? I've read it & it's indeed pretty swell but it's definitely not something I'd have expected to make a list like this.

I know, and Dreadstar ended up under "Superhero".

I dunno, personally I think they just like all the kids with no pants in Power Pack because that's all they ever talk about.

Yo, long shot, been searching for this graphic novel about ten years now I found on another *chan's /co/.

What little I can remember revolves around two characters in the book, one a teenager that played guitar and another that was an artist. The story revolved around the invasion of Earth by Hell. The kid played guitar one night and ended up losing track of time, having spent all night playing and accidentally played the exact song that opened the gates of hell.

The artist was lauded as discovering a new, indescribable color that was named something like Ultra Cyan or something along those lines and making a paint out of it. The paint was actually her blood her her tears or something and it helped to bring the army of hell through.

The story continued along with the invasion and society falling, the guitar playing teenager and the artist manging to meet up somehow with a bunch of survivors but they ended up getting caught by the forces of hell.

The closing scene of the novel was one of the demon generals and the teenager standing atop some sort of structure and the general giving the teenager a guitar made of flesh and bone and saying that the teen was now the Prince of Hell and making him play the new guitar to keep the invasion going.

I can't remember the new, I remember the art was really great, and I know it was a graphic novel and not a series or anything. Anyone be of help? I'd love to find that book again, it was really solid and had this dark and foreboding atmosphere.

Pic unrelated.

I'll second Robert Crumb, Gilbert Sheridan and Spain Rodriguez, and add Vaughn Bode to that list.
Also, Fire Sale was a notable late entry, Larry Todd of Dr. Atomic had his house burn down, and was badly burned himself, and the underground came out for one last blast for a benefit comic for him.

Athene told me she smells battle in a comics world. I'm just being the messenger, (Hermes here) Athene wants tobe in your story
As well, you may need Saint Stanislaus, the writer who was a martyr in battle

Unfortunately the next issues of Titans so far just involves pointless drama. And with Raven being disconnected from her soul self and being reduced to a powerless/emotionless husk of her former self she can now replace Miss Martian as the useless reserve.

Time for M'gann to shine! HELLOOOOOO MEGAN!

What are your worst recently read comics and why?

Fall of Cthulhu:
fucking ugly drawings!
How the hell am I supposed to get into the story
when everything is painted like puke?

I think most of the early Avengers-Comics
Cliche dialogue
cliche action shots
cliche storylines

They young teen titans.
need I say more?

The thread that lasted for over a year got 404'd, so I had to make a new one.

http://www.mangahere.co/manga/berserk/ - Never read it? Check it out, you won't regret it. But Dark Horse translation is superior because "fan translated hawks scans are famously bad and try waaaaay too hard to make it more edgy than it already is." - /mtv/res/316889.php

http://www.skullknight.net/forum/ - They usually know when a new chapter is coming out.

I think we should get a new chapter during spring.

nope, they are not.
They are written like
from 12year-olds for 12year-olds.

Slapstick instead of an epic tale,
stupid and clumsy characters instead of well written antagonists like Irenicus.
