Going to see killing joke in the theater, hopefully all the added material is up to par. They need to do more of the short stories movies.

Well all the additional material is in the first 30-45 minutes, and while it re-contextualizes what follows it's not actually mentioned. If you want to see a straight up killing joke adaptation all you have to do is fast forward.

And honestly, I can't tell why it's rated R. I can't say it's anymore violent than Assault on Arkham, and that movie explicitly shows characters having sex, killing joke doesn't.

Gotham Knight is often overlooked, not really a movie I guess.

Basically a series of short stories by different anime studios a la The Animatrix, it also takes place right after Batman Begins.

He was just in the seriously disappointing Howling Commandos book and he's going to join the Mercs for Money series

He's a creation of the Daniel Way Deadpool era; he had a mini series that was alright. Minor cult character that they haven't run into the ground

I didn't see a thread around, so I decided to make one. I found out that the first chapter came out, like, two weeks ago. I kept up with Berserk and Hunter x Hunter, but totally forgot there would be a Boruto manga series.

http://mangastream.com/manga/boruto

It adapts from Boruto: Naruto the movie and then continues from that point. Kishi won't be writing the storyline, just supervising it.

I gotta say, I find Ukyo Kodachi's artwork to be better than Kishi. I also feel like the Next Generation content we've gotten ao far has been more entertaining than anything Shippuuden had to offer. What are your thoughts on this?

Compared to Shippuuden's last arc, Boruto the Movie really isn't that bad. You'd have to be exaggerating if you feel that way. And don't get me wrong, I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to how awful the last arc was.

Obviously it's no Hunter x Hunter, but I like Boruto for what it is right now.

it wasn't bad or anything but it didn't have the speed and dynamic quality that kishimoto's fights do. Other than that one bit though I'm pleasantly surprised with how decent this manga is.

I finally watched the Boruto movie. Holy shit, it kicked ass. Everything I want from a Naruto experience. Seeing as the first manga chapter had a flash forward with Boruto's rival threatening to "send Boruto to meet the 7th" (which implies Naruto is dead in the future), I really believed the movie when they fake-killed Naruto and was blubbering like a baby. They fucking tricked me again, just like when they fake killed Kakashi and numerous other people. I need to stop falling for this shit lol. I was pissed that Kakashi never had a speaking role, just a couple background appearances. Kakashi was always my favorite character so I was hoping he would get a moment to shine.
>>42082
Agreed, it had cooler fights and real emotion behind it. The second half of the film was a non-stop adrenaline rush.

Consider the Preacher AMC a television series 'inspired' by the comics.
The plot's are similar, but so much has changed/been shuffled that they are essentially two different versions of an idea.

The comics have nudity at points (which AMC won't do) and there is some crazy violence/gore, but it seems the AMC show is doing it in its own way. 'Meat Baby' at the end of S01 is much different than the 'idol' that Quincannon worships in the comics. Also Quincannon becomes a character much later in the series. Also the whole 'God appears in church scene' is nowhere in the comics. In fact the church and such are destroyed in the opening pages. The comic literally opens with the last scene in the first season: Jesse, Cass, and Tulip sitting in a diner. Just read the comics. They rule. The show is also pretty cool too.

Shit, I realize I read the question wrong.

Ummm, I thought those new covers were just something AMC was doing leading to the airing of each weeks episode. Different artists were doing a cover based on the show.

So they're gonna change the covers to look more like their characters then inside the whole comic it's the actual story with the real Tulip? The hell?

Also, I really, REALLY fucking tried to like Preacher.. But what the fuck? Why ruin Tulip? Why make all the events totally out of fucking order?

Also It's weird that all the issues up til now, and ESPECIALLY the cover art, implied that Steve Rodgers was on Carol's side, but when it actually came down to it he sided with Tony.

how many chapters have had the word "end" in them lately? inb4 another shyamalan tweest and the plot resets for a sequel series with 2x the wasted panels, or another few battle chapters against the plot god ywach. ffs at least half of all events depicted in the current arc have been negated in some way so there's no effect on the conclusion. the joke has been running for years now and what little remains of the dead horse has been reduced to dust by the ceaseless hammering of a thousand metaphorical beating implements.

I've followed both companies main books for about 5 years and Marvel has always been my preferred company, but this is at least the closest DC has come to rivaling them. Stealing Tom King and Dan Abnett was a big help, and Jonathan Hickman and Rick Remender quitting Marvel for Image is another factor in Marvel quality dipping significantly.

Either way, it's only available on Comixology which is a bitch when you normally never use it. I don't like the website's interface for reading comics either, so I still have to bother going through this issue. #1 was a hilarious read though.
