New 52 Superman dead, replaced by Lex Luthor by Eugene Ninnerpetch - Sat, 28 May 2016 11:48:49 EST ID:cAbEEt+K No.42025 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

The Superman of New 52 is dead.

Lex Luthor is the new Superman who will be appearing in Action Comics biweekly, similar to Marvel's Superior Spider-Man
In DC's Superman book, the pre-Flashpoint Superman, still married to pre-Flashpoint Lois and with a son, will be the star.

Thoughts on this? New 52 Lois and Clark sucked, so I don;t mind them bringing back the old heroes.

>Don't worry guys, n52 Superman isn't really dead
>He'll always live on in your memories, in your hearts
>Also we'll just resurrect his ass the moment we need to catch the readers' attention again
>Enjoy paying to read the same story each year
My hand's empty.

Those days of superhero comics died a long time ago.

Spider-Man still does a lot of that shit, however. He deals with a lot of street-level villains. Superman now only comes out for world ending scenarios, apparently.

>Lex Luthor is the new Superman

Good, Lex has always been at least twice as interesting as Supes.

Not that Superman sucks, it's just that he needs some exceptional writers to make him shine.

Guess Captain America #1 came out today, revealing that Steve Rodgers was a HYDRA agent all along

Really not sure what to make of that.

It reeks of a ruse being set up for an in-story retcon, I would bet money it is retconned by the end of the arc.
Also, the S-JW shit in that issue was over the top.

so is it mind control via some mutant, one of the other parallel earths where things are all topsy turvy, or just a long con where he was a triple agent who infiltrated hydra for america and worked both angles the whole time?

I'll wait.

Well the same issue talks a lot about a sentient cosmic cube that can TIME TRAVEL but I'm sure it's unrelated to the twist.

So DC has confirmed that in the upcoming Justice League #50, Joker's true identity will be revealed. Time to start placing our bets on who he really is. My guess: he's David Bowie? IDK.

Honestly, revealing it sounds stupid to me, but maybe the reveal only counts for New 52 and Rebirth will reboot it or whatever.

There's been a major leak, which I would cite but I've been trying to avoid spoilers like the plague. Once the book comes out on Wednesday, I'll post all the in-depth spoilers. Gonna hide this thread before I get more spoilers in the meantime.

Well I read the issues and >>41979 is the only details released, no names given yet.
So the chair told Batman there are 3 Jokers. And he was so shocked that he never thought to rephrase the question as "Who are the 3 Jokers?". Come on, Johns.

In light of Doctor Manhattan joining the DC-verse, I'm betting the Comedian is one of the 3 Jokers.

GOAT Punisher Comics (besides Punisher MAX books) by Simon Duckforth - Mon, 21 Mar 2016 02:19:51 EST ID:VEuqFKdz No.41687 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

So I just got this mega-torrent that has practically every Punisher comic book from 1986 to 2014. (If you want it: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/11390888/The_Punisher_%28v1_-_v9___Mini-Series__One-shots___Extras%29_%281986_- but be warned that this torrent has only one seeder and will probably take 3 or so hours to download)
So, now that I have all this I'd like to know what you guys think the best Punisher stories of all time are (besides the ones under the MAX imprint because I've already read all of those, limited series, one-shots, and all).
Was thinking about War Zone and War Journal.

Tried to google some lists of best Punisher stories, but like 95% of every list I've found is comprised of stories from Garth Ennis' run on Punisher MAX.
Also, Tim Bradstreet is the best Punisher Cover Artist

he wears a pink t shirt with funny bone emblazoned in black ink on the back

A new Punisher ongoing launched today, here's a DL link for the first issue
It's pretty gory stuff, and from one of the artists that worked on MAX. The new villain looking to assasinate Frank is a creepy bastard who should make for a fun Bullseye replacement. We've seen enough Punisher Vs Bullseye fights, I'm down for new enemies.

The look back into Castle's past in Punisher Invades The Nam is one of my favorites. Shows a really solid understanding of the character that you sometimes don't really get with The Punisher.
