Tried some clean & jerk, decided to stop it, since my back is kinda of hurting and it would be stupid to try more and just hurt myself, didn't do squats because of it.
Did some paused bench and dips through, felt fucking good.

First day back after dealing with an awful cold, everything sucks. Cardio sucked, squats and dl's had to deload, everything sucked-- except for pull ups and plank. Those were actually pretty decent. And I've got a race this weekend. Yay.

So much soft tissue work today I feel like a piece of tenderized beef, but it's better than being all knots. Calf smash, barbell smash, three-sector work on my quads and calves, lacrosse ball trigger points on my shoulders and pecs, banded hamstring stretches, banded lat stretches...

But holy fuck did it feel amazing afterwards. Dips, ass-to-grass pause squats and RDLs and pull-downs. GOD DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN

Ran my first mud run ever, after training like mad for the past five months. I have never felt more alive. I feel awesome and sad at the same time, because I had so much fun and now it's over. But that's fine, because Spartan Race is coming up in three months. A whole new race to train for! A harder race! FUCK YES, GONNA OWN THIS!

Attempting to correct some asymmetrical tension in my hip flexors, and found that my right Tensor Fascia Latae is waaaaaaay too tight. So I pushed leg day back to tomorrow so I can start to do soft tissue work on it and start to stretch it out. Most of the stretches were a little interesting, but...
>mfw I laid down on the lacrosse ball

SOOOO, im taking 30mgs vyvanse every morning now, and im losing weight because of the lack of hunger, thing is, im getting stronger, last week i failed at a lighter weight than today on the OHP, i was also able to do more pull ups, im feeling way stronger overall on this week i did vyvanse everyday.

Is this because of it? Because honestly, i take it early in the morning, and even through i worked out at night today, i was still noticeably stronger.

Re-training my running gait, and my right side is incredibly tight. Not so tight that I've developed a cross-step, but I'm apparently pretty close so it's a good thing I'm correcting it now. Downside: cardio isn't actually "cardio" because I have to deliberately place every step to widen my stance. Upside: SLED PUSH AND PULLS!

It's annoying and my right leg all the way from my TFL down to my Achilles is sore, but I'm gonna fix that gait!

>two different core exercises, 4 sets each
>alternate wrist curl and skullcrushers, 3 sets for each
>30 minutes of intervals
On top of it, I've also decided to start getting some sun because I've become super pale since leaving my last job, got 40 bucks doing a ton of yardwork for a newley-wed couple the just moved in down the street, even though it was only abut an hour and a half of work. Gonna start going for runs mid-day for my cardio now.

God I love taking online classes, there's no way I'll be able to keep this up day-in-day out once fall starts/I get another job

Holy fucking shit, i swear to god i almost hit some fucker in the face today at the gym.

Was doing behind the neck press, with the proper barbell, in the proper area, where i talked already with the instructors, that i can drop the weights if i need to, because its the area for that.

And then that one manlet fucker comes after i failed my last and had to drop it, that i was being to noisy and shouldn't be doing that, i told him it was the right area, that i wasn't doing damage to anything, and he pointed to some cracks in the ground, in another fucking area, that were caused by people who dropped the dumbells, where the grounds wasn't made for the impact, i told him i wasn't the one who made that, and he just kept telling me i was wrong everytime i tried to defend myself, so i dunno why, i called him a fucking hipertrophy monkey, didn't know where that even came from. He made that face that pretended he didn't hear it, and leaved.

I got so mad i was able to add 10kgs to my behind the neck snatch.

Tempo RDLs are tougher because that's where you find out your grip strength aint shit, and swapping to alternating grip doesn't make things better.

Ground out my 4x10s, then split squats, side lunges, and pushing the sled around 5 times to end the day.

NOW I can chow down on some edibles.

Back to being active 4x a week ish now

Biked on the trainer for 40 minutes yesterday, my speed and power meter didn't read for some reason so all I got was heart rate and cadence lolz

Today I did some pullups as well as SLDL, BB rows, light chest work and some calves

If people are reading this, whats your calve routine like? My knees are a bit broken so loading up weights on my back or on the head of the quad are no goes, atm I do bodyweight calve raises for 15-18 reps and 5 sets. I noticed that using bicycling shoes and getting the special pedals allows me to use my hams and calves soooooo much more while biking, that alone and sprints on the bike allowed for 2 inches of growth in the past two months.

Reverse banded squats going up to 6 reps at 180 (20 pounds heavier than I normally squat unassisted), then right into two sets of 15 at 115 with a shorter than normal rest period. Then lunges. It's a fun way to work on coming up out of the hole AND you get to enjoy the unique feeling of jumping between two stabilization mechanics. Starting to feel the soreness already. Glorious.

Today is one of those days i focus on arms and take it lightly, im feeling positively strange, like the post workout glow is really fucking stronger right now, to the point it feels like i took some high dose of amphetamines, but im just feeling the euphoria, this isn't normal, and should scare me, but dammit if im not liking it.

I feel high as fuck after half an hour of high intensity cardio. Which is what I did about 30 minutes ago. My weights progress has stalled but I'm losing weight pretty quickly right now so just stalling is fine for now. Aiming to be a couple of KGs under my target weight going into August. It's going to be a fun month.

FMS and body composition today, turns out my score went DOWN because my calves, hamstrings and pecs are being cast-iron bitches. So I've got to beat them into submission to loosen them up.

But the good news is that my body weight has stabilized, my lean mass has gone up and my body fat has gone down to nearly half of what it was when I started going to the gym two years ago.

Numbers don't lie, and even though I may feel like I look like the guy in the pic, I have cold, hard proof that I'm not. Can't buy these SLAYER, mane.

Did my usual upper body routine today but I noticed something. My strength gains are up and so are my size. Ive been trying to lose weight for the past few months and did well at it (60lbs in 6 months) and now im seeing strength come back (and stick) and size come back (and stick).

I feel like I passed some kind of tipping point.

Thanks ana

I usually don't do these things but fuck it. I've got a funny one for ya

Routine for anyone who cares today was
Flat bench dumbbell flyes
OHP
Squatz
Calf raises (one day you'll be a full grown cow lil guy, I promise)
Bent over rows
Hammer curls
Preacher curls
Shrugs

I live on a small army installation and its a free gym so no complains there, but its tiny as fuck. At least there's an aux cord to some quality speakers. Anyways, 4 douchey firemen are literally just jogging around the tiny room, doing random single sets of bullshit with babby weights, and constantly bantering loud as fuck. They brought some old dude with them too, probably some sort of fireman himself. They're playing the shittiest fuckin buttrock pandora station possible over the speakers, Nickelback tier shit. Overall just about the most obnoxious gym experience possible

Whatever dude, I keep to myself. Politely ask to get through to another area if I need to, politely ask if they're using something I need to use. They don't give me a hard time or anything, although at one point the old guy tells me I shouldn't use a particular barbell cause theres something wrong with it which I know is bullshit cause I've been using this barbell everyday so I just say thanks and use it anyway.

Many bantz and non lifting related shenanigans later they finally leave, and I am free to plug in my own music and lift alone, in peace. I just stick her on shuffle and enjoy myself to some good ol Death Grips, Alexisonfire, you know, the classics. But then in the middle of my curls, fucking Joyce Manor - Falling in Love Again ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJNv0UGfLkg ) comes on. As soon as the opening bassline starts, I know whats gonna happen here. Its clear as day, but I do nothing to stop it.

I've been going through some shit, and this song always does it. I drop the dumbbells and just start crying. I'm screaming a little bit, its all good bro. I'm alone, only god is here to witness this moment of anguish. I curl through the tears, the extra endorphins fuel my pump.

By time I'm walking out of this little hole in the wall gym, I can't fully describe how I feel. Lifting while crying your eyes out is probably dangerous, but it was cathartic as fuck. For a few moments, it felt like the sadness was leaving me, intertwined with the sweat dropping from my brow, if only temporarily.

Welp, this was a stupid fucking story. Have a great day guys.

Pyramid set squats, for the first time in a month, then 2 sets of as many reps as possible with a lightly loaded bar. HOLY JUMPING JESUS CHRIST I really need to do these more often.

Then a superset of L-sit pullups and jumping pullups, done as slowly and deliberately as possible so I could really exhaust my grip and core strength. and because fuck crossfit speed bullshit.

Havent worked out in 2 solid weeks. Shitty because I was just getting into some awesome work on my body, a good 45 days of solid fitness. Ive put on a couple pounds. I just went to a vacation, and after coming back cut my leg on some barbed wire. I was out smoking behind a cattle fence. Well I got stitches which was shitty, even shittier is the fact that I had to get a tetanus shot on my left arm. So my left body was basically paralyzed, and I just picked up the weights 8 days after it.
My arm from the shot was basically locked muscle. Uncomfortable and could barely move it. Now that thats over I feel great.
I just did a couple sets and gonna exercise as much as I can without tearing my leg anymore. Felt very shitty to not be able to do anything but watch movies and lay around. The cut was super deep and had to heal with stitches and anytime I moved it made it worse.
Feels good. I cant wait to get back into fitness and getting fucking ripped.

The increase in body temp during exercise helps your body burn away viruses and bacteria. I've been feeling a bit of a weakened immune system lately so I've did a few long runs and it helped. Been avoiding anything more strenuous than that.

I actually worked out for the first time in a while today. Just played with the log and got up to 218lb, then did 5 sets with 130 for reps, then did like deadlifts/rdls/clean pulls with it for 4 or 5 sets of 10 and got up to 218 again I think, maybe less. Then pull ups, grip work, and abs.

It's honestly really nice for the act of exercising to feel like a treat again. Not like a job.

Mild discomfort when I'm halfway coming down, right around the point where the motion of the rotator cuff transitions to the lat. Im a beginner when it comes to exercise.
ive been walking for atleast the last 2-3 months 2 (sometimes three) times a week, atleast once a week i do a 2 hour walk usually on mondays or tuesdays and on fridays i walk until i literally cant go any further and just take a bus home.

Anyways, in the last 2 weeks or so ive been getting full really easily and been unable to eat the food ive been dieting on, like ill cook a carrot some corn and 2 (small) potatos and ill eat the corn and carrots super quickly but when it comes to potatoes ill eat like 1 and feel as full as if i ate a pizza from dominos. This is actually super weird for me being a fatty.
Ive also cut my sugar way down, going from a block of chocolate a week to only a bar (if that!) sometimes i find it cheaper to buy apples than chocolate and it scares me but makes me happy to say that.

yesterday i walked 15 kilometres, when i frist started walking on fridays i could only walk 5, now 5 is an absolute breeze.
Ive got a bit of a tan now and my clothes feel a little bit looser, i put a shirt on the other day and i was just amazed by how it fit.

Anyways i hope you guys dont mind me, i just needed to say something somewhere. figured here would be best. before you know it ill be able to feel comfortable going to a gym!

The twins who go to my gym entered a serious discussion today, screaming loudly and everything, one was mad at how the other was correcting his posture, it made my day.

Also i can tell which one of then actually used minoxidil, because he has a fuller beard.

Shit, i think im kind starting to feel a fever, did squats, but the weight im used to, was much harder, so i just did 2 sets with it, tried bench pressing, but realized im much weaker on the first rep, and decided its better to lay off today.

I hope im good tomorrow, because tomorrow is the last workout of the year, after that, cozy christmas with mom and dad, then going camping into the fucking woods with my best friend, her girlfriend, which is also a great friend of mine, and a friend of her, who wants my body, this on top that we will take copious ammounts of lsd and the fact, im gonna do it on my birthday, makes it all just awesome.

Sorry for the non related stuff, im just excited.

Feelin pretty good today. Nobody around in the gym so I had ample room to fuck my own shit up. Really tried to practice my deadlift and squat form, which
are shit and I know it. Lower back muscles are deficient and I have a tendency to dip my ass at the bottom of squats. Also my legs are pretty lean (chicken legs) so simply keeping balance is a challenge.

First cardio session back, been not eating like an animal for less than a day, somehow didn't die. On the bright side, that was literally the worst session I'm going to have all year and I cracked it. It will get noticeably easier from here on in though tomorrow's weights could be hard. I didn't skip weights entirely over the holiday though, thought if I'm going to eat like a pig I should move some bits of metal around at least a couple of times.

Went for a long ass several hour walk during the day to catch some spring sun and clear my head after having too many beers yesterday, then hit the gym in the afternoon. Ive only started doing it recently and as i said i was, if not exactly hungover then at least a little weak so i kept it light:

>about 10 minutes rowing machine to warm up
>some arms and shoulder and chest stuff
>bunch of sit ups, leg lifts and back exercises
>a long, nice hot sauna session with stretching, interrupted and finished off with a bunch of quick ice cold showers

god damn those endorphins are making me feel like a new person. And im going through some shit so i needed it extra bad

I'm actually in discomfort but I've been taking it easy around my birthday, eating shitty food etc. It's been almost a week since my last cardio session and this was the worst one I've had since the first one after new year. I'm still heavy on my feet from the cider and cake and biscuits. My relationship with food could use some work so I compensate by lifting and running until I'm ripped.

Its over though and it'll get better. I did make it to the end and beat my "par". Just had a stitch for 15 minutes. Yesterday it hurt to walk so it's an improvement.

Nah, I was in mean shape last wednesday. I literally lost my christmas weight before February. I eat like a labrador if I am able to and so the water weight I was retaining on monday was probably almost 10 pounds in addition to a couple of pounds of fat I'd have stored. If I didn't have a wedding tomorrow (more drink and food) and a birthday the next week I'd bet on being back to normal by next friday but it'll probably be the second week of July. I won't be eating much for more than an afternoon at a time though so I expect to be able to hit the gym like normal again next week.

Anyway. Weights yesterday, just about managed to manage 3 sets of 12 bench press at 2x25KG so that's good, I was doing 3x8x2x15KG in November. Today is more cardio.

I wonder how the fuck you can lose weight this fast without cutting bits off, what's your deficit and routine like?

I've got to be honest I'm worried this isn't doing what you think. If you can actually sustain a 2500 calorie deficit and not get ill or exhausted (or drugs?) or be losing muscle by the pound then I want your metabolism.

I don't quite understand either. But, I just eat when I'm hungry. I just make sure that each meal is clean and makes me full until next time i eat which is every 4 hours.

Funny thing, im an endomorph which means I gain muscle fast and also gain fat and weight easily. Yet, it's hard for people to lose weight being that body type. I'm just blessed with decent genetics I guess.

Going back to the gym tomorrow too which will make me lose weight 2x as fast.

I'm going to train hard like a motherfucker and get big really damn fast. No, I'm not talking about using steroids or test boosters. I know my body well enough to know what I can and cant do. I've done this before in the past and I got bigger and stronger at a fast rate. Yeah, I was gaining strength and muscle even though I was cutting weight at the time.

I am going to start lifting again in the beginning of August. I should be down to atleast 185lbs when I start training again. I'm going to enjoy the grind and get somewhere for once in my life. Progress is a process and I'm going to enjoy the process of transforming my physique.

The gym has been my passion since I was 18yrs old. Yeah, I haven't trained in a long time. But, this time I am going to commit to this and live the fitness lifestyle until the day I die. I was destined to do this chit, period.

Word. I've been active my whole life but only just recently started doing actual lifting/building. I used to do a lot of parkour shortly after graduating highschool, and I was fairly ripped, but I got out of my regular workout habits.

I started watching my food intake a couple of years ago and trying to exercise regularly. I posted before that this past year, six months specifically, have really seen the most improved perfection of my diet and exercise regiment. I'm still only giving it about 80% though. I don't always stay on schedule, and sometimes my diet falters.

However for me it's about bulking up and gaining weight. I've always been kind of small, despite being moderately muscular, and I've never had a shred of fat anywhere on my body. I started getting serious with my lifestyle because of two reasons: I wanted to better myself through struggle and dedication, and I also want to be head-turningly muscular.

So far I'm pleased with my progress. I was slow in the beginning because I was really, really, *really,* depressed, but I'm better now mentally and physically. At the same time I've been studying a lot of different things in my free time and refining my own existential/philosophical beliefs and goals. I don't want to get too hippie dippy or cringey with it, but it really has been about more than my physical being. This has been about an entire dedicated lifestyle change.

I could never go back at this point. The amount of effort and dedication I put into being who I am now has shifted my view of reality and changed the basis of my desires and goals in life.

I use to powerlift. Trust me, I know what hard work, dedication and sacrifice is. I did whatever it took to get to where I was at before I got injured. I sacrificed my social life and I blew up to 220lbs at 5'3. I sacrificed my health to be strong. Lifting was my life back then, 10 years ago. Doing it again now and I'm much happier. But, I want to build my physique as I have no desire to powerlift again. Cant wait to see where i am a year from now.

Just got home from the gym. Burned 260 calories and went 1 mile in 20 minutes. I had to really push myself today to get this done. I've barely eaten at all today. So, I was a bit low on energy which is why I didn't go my usual 30 minutes. But, there's always next time.

Hope I lose 1lb atleast after going to the bathroom tomorrow morning. But, I know I will ;)

Yes. Signing up for a gym or training is dumb as hell. Take responsibility for the state of your body and work on it at your own pace.
Everything your body needs you can do in the comfort of your basement with a set of dumbbells and an airbike. Those wont cost you as much as a gym membership in a crowded disease filled gym.

You should do your research on online PTs before you pay one to get you in shape. Most of them are rip offs. But, their are very reputable ones out there. You just have to know your shit about which people are real lifters and ones who make cookie cutter programs for someone and actually gives every client they have the same program and diet that was originally for the first person solely.

What are you trying to achieve? Transform your physique or get strong? Maybe both?

hiring a coach isnt a bad idea and the very act of hiring a professional is taking more responsibility for your health than trying to do it with a half assed attempt because you lack the knowledge.

That being said, I did not get what I paid for and am disappointed with the service

now powerlifting is an actual sport so you do need a trainer, but People can maintain a body fat below 14% without hiring anyone. A couch is a nice thing to have but not essential, and in many cases can act as a deterrent to the person who hired them if they dont get along. Its much better just educating yourself and taking things at your own pace.

Got home from the gym 30 minutes ago. Burned 325 calories, went 1.30 miles all in 25 minutes. I'm still weighing 187lbs. But, I've been more strict with my diet lately. 2nd day in a row that I've done cardio. I'll get below my current weight very soon.

I've decided that when I get down to 185lbs (which is just 2lbs I got to lose) I'm going to start lifting again. I was going to wait until I got to 180lbs. But, I'm getting impatient. I'm still cutting when I start lifting again. Cant wait to kill the weights!

Went to the park today and walked 1.2 miles on the trails. Was sweating my ass off from the heat and the walking. I didn't think I'd be doing cardio at the park. I was just there to take pics and enjoy nature and the ocean. I have no idea how many calories I burnt. I'm just glad I did something productive and something a bit different from being in the gym on an elliptical all the time. It was a good change of pace.

Today is a rest day. Yesterday was legs with the brunt of it being descending sets of squats and deadlifts. Floor leg/core work outs on the end of the session. Today my legs and butt are completely decimated.

I want to start jogging as well when I do my lower body lifting. Should I jog before or after lifting? I usually jog instead of doing a lower body lifting session. It's one or the other for me, but I don't want to miss out on cardio or leg lifts. Can anyone help me out regarding this? Thank you in advance.

Because the cardio machines keep track of how far you've gone in terms of miles and it tracks your calories burnt.

This is common sense. If you don't know that then maybe you should do some research on lifting and nutrition before you walk into the gym blindly and have no plan of attack towards whatever goals it is that you want to achieve in the gym.

I dont think those machines can accurately measure how many calories you burn. He really shouldn't care how many calories he's burning as long as he keeps up with the daily cardio routine.

Sorry I didn't mean to come off as a dick. My bad.

Yeah, I can't say for sure either if the calorie tracker is accurate. But, doing cardio daily and being soaked in sweat as you bust your ass each and everyday doing so, you'll drop weight like crazy.

Just got home from the gym. Went 1.3 miles and the machine said that I burnt 330 calories in 25 minutes. I am exhausted. But, I am satisfied with today. I'm just grinding my ass off in the gym. Im keeping low key and putting in the hard work. You get out what you put in.

Just some thoughts on this.

Walking 1 mile while weighting 80KG (less than this dude or me) burns 100 calories. Cross trainers or whatever add resistance so you can burn a lot more over a mile because it's like a mile up a 6% slope with some weight. You also need to ensure you dial your weight in correctly so it can apply resistance. These machines could either measure the work done or take the stats. They won't be 100% accurate but I think they won't be too far off.

Calories burned is sort of important if you're trying to lose weight. But on a cardio machine they're really just like a "score" like a par to beat so you know you're improving or not getting worse. 3500 calories is 1 pound of fat.

I do "600 calories" in half an hour which would be like running just under 12mph for that time. That's pretty intense but that is half an hour of high intensity cardio with my pulse around 80% the whenever I measure it (I've got a resting pulse of about 55bpm). However it probably means I actually did somewhere between 450 and 700. I wouldn't trust it to be more accurate than that. I've used other machines which for almost the same intensity tell me I've burned 100 calories in 20 minutes. Which is a moderate walk so if they can be that inaccurate so can the ones that tell me what I want to hear. 330 calories in 25 minutes is quite reasonable. That's like running about 7mph. I guess you know if that sounds right. Maybe it's even low balling you.

I alternate cardio and weights days because the gym is literally across the road from me. Bump because I only take saturdays off. Cardio done. Time for a shower.

You're only argument is to go at an implied slower and less productive pace because you wont spend money.

This is the reason people spend money - so they can learn from someone else and excel at a faster rate.

I teach my clients and back up everything I do with research and get people to accomplish more with me than they could on their own, and the lowest I charge is 100$/mo which is about 25$ an hour if I break it down with how much effort I put into writing their diet, program, and communication with them as well as run my gym.

The gym is more than just lifting weights and getting big and strong. It's a place where people can better themselves, inside and out. You can learn things about yourself through lifting that you can apply to life outside the gym. It's a place of uplifting greatness.

Some people are telling me that I cant maintain my weight once I'm done with my cut and I'm losing weight "too fast". Well, who says im staying at 170lbs? My bulk starts almost immediately after my cut is done. So, I don't care how I shed this fat off me. This is a great pace I'm going. I'm bulking up to 190-195lbs throughout the winter. Why are you bulking then?
You are losing more muscle mass than neccessary, and your performance is dropping WAY faster than it should if you are even on a proper program.

And those are the only two reasons a person would bulk, to gain muscle or increase performance, both of which you are destroying with your reckless dieting methods.

I think it's because your posts are misleading. There's a whole lot of
>Oh I lost 1.2 pounds overnight my metabolism flipped a switch
>I lost 5 pounds since last week
>I can sustain this because my metabolism is awesome

And now suddenly actually it's 5 pounds a month. You're the one getting defensive. You're like a journalist just reporting the big swings. Your weight didn't stall for ages. You've probably been dropping fat at a steady rate but you took a big dump on certain days and didn't drink quite as much water and then you seemed to stop for several days because you were retaining abit more fluid. You probably bounced up a bit on a couple of days and ignored it.

Water weight is real. I go up and down 2 pounds during a week eating the same calories every day except saturday. If you eat a few extra carbs your body needs to maintain seawater levels of concentration so it will suck in water. Like several times as much as the carbs. If your diet isn't the same every day your weight will rock up and down. If you want accurate results either work out the trend or eat the same pattern every week and measure at the same time and day so it's the same point in the cycle. Friday morning after a glass of water and a shit is my weighing day because most weeks I'm regular in my meals. When I'm not I take the readings with a pinch of salt.

I'm going to bump this because I started free weight squats for reals a few weeks ago and I've finally found a weight where I felt challenged. Though I'm hoping I can push through that as it's still quite a bit less than my body weight which is shameful. yes, i eat the samething at the same time everyday like i have been for a few months now. so, dont sit there and assume shit like i dont know what hard training and diet is like. if you read my earlier posts, you can see that i talked about getting back into powerlifting. i did that shit and did whatever it took to get to where i was back then. i know what blood, sweat, tears, puke, sacrifice and popping a few blood vessels are. im not exactly a total noob at this. yeah, im not saying i know everything and im a fitness guru. but, i do know somethings. idgaf if you have a PhD or not. dont treat me like im an idiot.

1lb/day = 30lbs a month
this is what you stated
we both agree that is too fast
then you changed the framing into 5lbs over a month, which would imply you are just bullshitting, lying, calculating/measuring wrong, or you are bad at english

were trying to help you, why are you trying to change what you said

All right guys, everyone just shut the fuck up and BUMP WHILE GLOWING. If you aren't BWG them gtfo of here!

Lower body yesterday. Nothing too crazy, and I cut my workout a little short because I had somewhere to be, but I'm feeling those squats. I need to start going to a gym because I don't have enough weights at my house to progress much more.

The thread doesn't need abandoning. The dude is full of shit and doesn't read his own posts but contrary to the impression he'd given he's not running a 2500 calorie deficit every day and he'll be fine.

I am glowing. I did half an hour of high intensity cardio and am now dripping in sweat. That endorphin high is nice. It's been 20 minutes and my pulse is almost down to below my usual rate (it's still hovering around 65 bpm) again so this shit continues to work for me.

I live across the road from a gym and it costs me a fair amount of money. It'd be more than it's worth except the convenience of having it 2 minutes walk away makes it hard to justify not turning up most days and I can go every day and can do sessions like today where other people would sink almost as much time as the workout itself getting there. They'd go less and try to fit everything in and either do lame cardio or reduced lifting to not die of exhaustion. Also the air conditioning meant during the heat wave I'd come in and lift weights to cool off.

When I eventually move I might shop around. Or I'm likely to move to the town where my secondary workplace is and they have a gym. I'm going somewhere with this. You could join the fire and rescue service or police but lol I know where I'm posting so nope and get a gym on site even if you're not a firefighter.

I'm cutting down to 175lbs instead of 170lbs. I'm starting to feel small and look it. So, I have to cut these last 7lbs which will be easy instead of 12lbs. Then its bulk time. Yeah budday!!

Some months ago some fucker tried to stop my workout right in the middle, cause he believed my lifts would hurt me for being heavy, came in the most autoritharian disrespectful way possible, i told him to fuck off.

My ex friend tried doing the same thing and I told him to mind his own business. Of course, he was a jealous fuck because I was doing something positive in real life instead of playing WoW all day like he was. I'm only doing push/pull for every meet that I will be doing when the time comes. Yeah I see your point and I've heard the same thing. But, wanting to pull 1100lbs like Eddie hall requires more than just injecting roids. But, I guess it also depends on dosing and whether you're blasting or cruising.

If you want to inject roids then fine, you compete with people inject roids. Or you're doing what you do and paying that cost for what you get. Personally I'm not a serious lifter or bodybuilder and I'm just trying to live longer and not look like shit so I don't do roids.

There is some damage in roids, aside from (maybe even if you include them) risks to the users of fucking with their body chemistry though these aren't always significant, there's a different between a middle aged man taking a low dose to keep it at the levels it used to be and a 25 stone slab of beef exceeding what the human body can be normally for years at a time the biggest dangers are usually comparison to non roid users. Competitively (because it's usually cheating) and also in terms of image. Men haven't reached women's level of body image issues but we're making good headway and there's plenty of hollywood A listers we can thank for that. I guess if there was less stigma then people would admit it and we'd feel less inadequete for not being Christian "The Rock" Jackedman.

I am actually bumping though.

Day off work due to them switching over shit. So I hit the gym early in the day hoping it'd be super quiet and my energy levels would be higher. Not quite but I did my shit but and I've lost the weight from the last few weeks excesses, my pull ups have not been so easy since the middle of September. Hopefully I'm back to a 32 inch waist again now. Then I walked a few miles because the benefits of being not a fat sack of crap can actually be felt in terms of mundane shit too. Also I really needed a banana and a corgette and some vaseli.. a cabbage.

Weighed in at 176.6lbs this morning. 6lbs to go and then its bulk time. Back in the gym on Monday and I'm going to make my comeback in powerlifting after not doing it for 10 years. Train hard and train hard like a motherfucker which I'll be doing over the next year and then once 1 year passes by and I become jacked and strong, I'm finding a meet and will be prepping for it aka peaking. I'm coming back 10x stronger and much bigger than I was before but at a much lighter BW unlike when I was 220lbs.

I'm really excited to do what I have always had a passion for after being away from it for so long. I will always be a warrior of the iron. I will powerlift until the day I die and this time I wont give up this lifestyle ever again.

I'm just going to embrace my destiny and my fate by doing what my heart has been trying to say to me for so long; go back to the gym and be happy with what I'm doing by powerlifting. This flame in me has been lit and it will always stay lit this time.

Got a job again and started lifting first thing in the morning because I like going into work pumped up.

Worked out 6 times this month. It’s not much but 6 of something is better than nothing. I was on a good streak for a while earlier in the year and kinda lost my way a bit over summer when life gets lively.

Using 15kg dumbbells, goal is to reach 20kg.

Currently on toilet, shitting post work out and vaping. Feels pretty good.

Had a good workout last night. Did biceps and triceps and I'm sore today. But, I thought it would be a lot worse. It's not really bad at all.

Weighed in at 177lbs today. Cant wait to lose these last few pounds so I can start bulking over the winter.

Today I'm recovering and tomorrow is chest and back and delts. Cant wait for that.

Been recovering from my last training session. I'm going to the gym tomorrow to train chest and back. I've been pretty damn sore over the past 3 days. But, on Monday is when I am on a good schedule; train monday/wednesday/Friday. After i stop getting sore from training is when I'm really going to go hard as fuck in the gym.

Down to 176lbs today. So close to being done with my cut.

Had a good back workout. But, couldn't do chest because it was crowded in there and this stupid fuck was doing circuit training, hogging benches for dumbbell work and also hogging a couple of machines. Seriously, do these stupid fucks know anything about gym etiquette because it seems like they don't?

Anyway, atleast I trained something which was my back instead of doing nothing and just leaving the gym. So, it wasnt all for nothing.

Weighed in at 176lbs today. Good shit.

I just got done doing a core and mild leg work out. It was pretty good. I haven't done core extensive workouts habitually for months, but I've just recently started adding it on off days again. It feels good to be in such good shape right now. Does anyone else feel that maintaining your physical self through rigorous exercise and a proper diet is spiritual to them in a way? I feel like taking proper care of your physical being is a way of giving thanks and appreciation for your existence, and that you should be well versed with your body's physical limits.

Nice work, yo! Always keep improving, setting the standard higher. Don't placate or let yourself slack. I just finished doing an upper body work out, lifting session. I kind of wish I would have put up my bar and done some pull ups at the end, but I'll get some next time. I have one of those pull up bars that hooks into the top of the door frame and rests on the sides that you can put up and take down in a literal second. Weighed myself today and I'm down to 172.2lbs. 2lbs to go and my cut is complete as well as I'll be hitting the 90lbs weight loss mark very soon. I've come a far way with this cut. But, after I lose those 2lbs its bulk time and I'll be making gains like crazy from training my ass off and hitting it hard everytime I'm in the gym. I'm going back tomorrow to the gym and I'm going to go in there and fuck shit up each and everyday that I train and not hold back on anything.

It's time to go after what I really want and transform my physique over the next year. Next summer, 2019, is going to be a good year for me. I cant wait for this year to end and I'm going to start the new year off right.

Chest day today. Had a real uphill start to the day so was really glad I summoned the effort to actually do it. Did chest press/flye supersets on decline, incline and flat. Did a bunch of raised push ups on a tiny ledge too where my core has to support the whole body.

Glad to be making progress. Have been hitting the home gym daily and getting a good old steam/sauna session in afterwards, with a light cycle there and back.

Chest day yesterday, abs today. No real progress to report, other than the introduction of a balance board that I'm using for squats etc to try boost stability.

I'm officially done my cut. Monday my bulk starts and I will start training for powerlifting again for the first time in years. I'm exactly at 170lbs as of today. Im going to bulk up to 190-195lbs and train hard and aggressively for the next year. After a year has gone by I'm going to sign up for my first meet in 10 years and peak for it.

I've realized that powerlifting is my destiny and fate and I will lift until the day I die. It's my one and only passion. The fire is back and this time it won't go away.

I've gone through a lot of hardship and struggle over the past few months and my answers to my questions have been right in front of me. No more wasting my days away and being an addict. As long as I can lift I don't need drugs to make me happy or just to get through the day.

Powerlifting is my therapy and that's how I feel now.

My bulk and training for powerlifting starts tomorrow. I'm really excited to do what I've been passionate about since I was 18-19yrs old.

I'm ready to go and get this shit started. Let's see how jacked and strong I'll be within the next year. This time I will become bigger and stronger than I've ever been in my life. But, this time I'm not going to be some fat fuck either. Watch and see...

New PB of 6 wide pull ups.

Destroyed my arms with a pull up blitz today. Did 37 of them across 30 mins across the 3 variations twice. It reached a stage where I’d manage 2/3 max for the opening set but only 1 or even 0.5 for the remaining sets. It sucks being this weak, but I’m glad I did it. Spent about an hour afterwards just lying in bed cause my arms had gone 100% goofy.

Trying to reduce my rest period inbetween sets too, did the workout really fast compared to usual but unsurprisingly the numbers overall were lower. But this burn is hardcore so I reckon it’s done a better job.

Repeated this routine today in the same timeframe. Very happy with the hustle. My arms do not feel even remotely disabled like they did before and I made good progress.

PB of 6.5 wide pulls.
Achieved 47.5 overall, which is an improvement of 10.5!

I developed a mantra/breathing routine to help improve focus too. Before every set, I take a deep inhale/exhale whilst thinking "clear (my mind)". Then it goes (inhale) 5, (exhale) and, (inhale) 4.... when I reach 1, I move over to the equipment again and pick up the exercise.

Just posting post workout / eat. Today was leg day for me. Tomorrow is an upper day, and the day after being a jogging/rest day.

>>95175

That's what I like to hear. I've been active and worked out for most of my life, but with nowhere near my current level of knowledge and understanding regarding proper nutrition and exercise. I've improved so much since I actually took the time to read and take notes about physical training, nutrition, various exercises, and things like muscle groups/structure and cellular composition.

I'm in the best shape of my life by a noticeably decent margin. For one, I just feel so incredibly healthy. I can feel my wellness permeate my being. For two, as a bonus to living this kind of lifestyle, I'm absolutely fucking ripped. And beyond good health and looks, I treat my exercise and nutritional regiment as a kind of test to my will.

Maintaining peak physical performance has become an every day way of life for me, to always try and push my limits, and to overcome the pain and struggle. This has all been catalyst to various other changes that have coincided over these same last couple of years. I've been working on improving several facets of my life, and my physical training is the biggest backbone to this endeavor, constantly reminding me of my will and ability to improve.

Or something. Sorry for the ran. Good luck in your continued efforts!

New PB of 8 incline crunches with 5kg
New PB of 10 decline flyes with 17.5kg

The gains have been real recently. Really surprised myself with the 17.5kg especially.

Switched up my routine to mark the beginning of my 10th week working out 5 days a week. Rather than focusing on one muscle each day, I will try to do a spread of muscle groups daily. I’m hoping that I will be able to focus more on particular excercises I want to get better at.

This switch is only temporary, till Xmas season is over. Things are going to get messy routine wise due to social life. Having a daily all rounder should help keep the engine running until the turbulence is over.

ive had some setbacks that has prevented me from going to the gym. but, tonight im going to the gym and im absolutely going to crush this workout and all the other training sessions that are ahead of me in the near future. im done playing games. its time i live my passion and embrace my destiny and fate of being a gym rat.

im going to show everyone how hard i can push myself and i will eventually show everyone the fruits of my labor which is my physique that i will obtain one day through hard work and consistency. i wont disappoint myself anymore or anyone else who has my back. i know i can do this. my father was a bodybuilder back in the day. so, my passion for the gym is in my genes through him.

LETS GET THIS SHIT! IM GOING ALL OUT AND IM NOT GOING TO GIVE UP SO EASILY WHEN THE TRAINING GETS TOUGH. I WILL PUSH MYSELF BYOND MY LIMITS AND DO WHATEVER THE FUCK IT TAKES! WATCH ME!!

The new routine is really enjoyable. Doing a rotation of 4-6 excercises at 4 sets each.

Invented a new workout for myself.

Weighted overhead incline crunch. I can only do 2-4 at a time with 2.5KG! Just hold the weights above your head and keep them there whilst doing a full crunch on the incline board.

Definitely excited for the road ahead. MMA will be getting signed up for shortly, now that I feel my level of fitness is enough to train with.

i will be back in the gym on monday. im going to train hard and go beyond my limits with my training. idgaf if i pop blood vessels and if i puke. im putting everything i have into this and i will put all my focus into the gym.

lifting has been my one and only passion since i was 18yrs old. i am going to do what i love and im going to live my life being a gym rat.

im suppose to be going to a rave on new years eve. but, im not going. i have to train on the 31st. this shit is way too important to me to just not go and then get fucked up at a rave and miss a day of training. i'll take the darkness of the gym over partying any day of the week. this is how motivated and focused i am about this.

you will all see what im capable of. trust me, when ive been lifting for 3-4 months i'll post some pics from how i'll look then from how i look now. you will see a big difference in my physique.

i am very hungry for this shit!

Getting back in the gym and doing what I've been passionate about since I was 18yrs old is the best decision I made for myself. I feel so much better already mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. I haven't felt this good about myself in a very long time. I will never give up on something that I love so much ever again. I will lift until the day I die.

Thank you dad for passing down the passion of the gym onto me, your son. I will show you and everyone else what I am capable of. This time I'm all in, I'm in this for life and I will never give up the lifestyle ever again of being a warrior of the iron, an iron warrior.

I trained at my gym on Friday and yesterday. I'm already hitting PRs despite cutting and being in a deficit. I am grinding and hitting it hard each and everytime I enter the gym. I am not holding back at all anymore. I'm going all out and am making fast gains through hard work and dedication. I am committed with building my physique and being a gym rat.

I feel so much better mentally. I feel a lot more stable mentally for the first time in a very long time.

I love the pump you get in your muscles and especially that post workout glow. Feels great!

Tomorrow is chest and back. I'm going to demolish this next training session!

Happy new year bitches! Time to kick things up a notch and get the chase for accomplishing my goals going.

I have 3 goals I want to achieve within the next year:

  • get my GED
  • get my drivers license
  • apply for college courses and pursue getting my degree in physical therapy

I want to do these things in that order. I know I can do it. I have great potential and I see that in myself now for the first time since dealing with my mental illness for the past 13 years. I can be somebody in this life, in this world just as much as anyone else and be successful.

Of course, I'm already back in the gym and hitting the weights hard to the point of almost vomiting everytime I get done my training sessions since I went back to what I've been so passionate about for so long. But, to me that's an indicator of how hard I'm training and how hungry I am for obtaining a great physique like my father did when he was my age.

Goodluck to you all this year. Make this year your year and keep plugging away at achieving any goals you have for yourself to better yourself as a person. I know I'll be.

Tolerance break day 12. Sleep still fuckin with me so it was a slow and uphill start this morning.. Got the cardio at 6.30am which pissed me off.

Abs day. Just general planting seeds gains, new PB of 11 leg raises, 6 Overhead 2.5kg incline crunches and introduced some twists into the incline crunch routine.

The abs are making progress, in the last few weeks of dieting the crevices between the abs began to show up and cast a mild shadow. Nice deep side ridges now.

Pull up day today. Got up on 4 hrs sleep and did my 3.30am workout, happier with the effort. Definitely derive a lot of happiness from getting up early and getting on with it.

Unusually weak results - had to drop to 3 sets and was only achieveing around 2/3 per go after the first rotation. Haven’t had a performance result this weak in months.

Going to return to 3 sets per excercise for upper body days because I suspect my 6 excercise x4 sets of chest day has left me with residual weakness for my pull up day. It affected my arms last week too and forced me to skip my Friday because of forearm weakness.

It’s annoying, was hoping I could condition myself to the new intensity but it appears I am too weak.

Still weird as fuck. This time last week, under same circumstances I achieved great results. 1 week later it’s as if I’ve regressed several months and Barry ahead of when I first started pull ups in October.

I dunno, for me I've been at it almost 6 years. I'm in good shape and I find lifting weights is alright and cardio isn't but I mostly do both because I want to enjoy the benefits of being fit and normal sized and eat more cake. For some people it never catches but it's still time well spent. When I beat my goals I know I've won a small victory for my general mobility, agility, physical confidence and long term health. But it's always something I do for the many benefits and for beating the goals. I'm not someone people would assume works out regularly until they see my arms or walking speed. They tend to assume I can walk on water and turn water into wine or some shit though apparently. I get "Jesus" several times a week.

No offense taken bro. I understand exactly what you mean when you talk about transcendence of yourself through strength and fitness. We are both iron warriors; warriors of the iron. We bleed and go through hell and back through rigorous training and better ourselves as time goes on as we lift and train more and more. I plan on doing so for myself through powerlifting just like I did a decade ago. I want back who I was as a powerlifter, as a person and go much farther than I did previously.

I'll let you know how I'm progressing through strength training in due time and we can keep each other motivated and help each other stay on our paths of transcendence.

Keep training hard dude and I soon will follow starting next week. You and me are hungry for this shit. Let's get it!!

Arms / legs day - had to play catch up on legs.

The max resistance cardio is getting a lot easier. 15 minutes goes by alright, I’m not really pushing it and the RPM is low but I no longer have to stop and my rate is consistent.

Rushed it a bit by only giving 30 seconds rest between sets. Won’t be repeating that, it severely affected performance after first set. Will move up to 90 seconds and see how that goes. Conditioning really doesn’t work the way I thought it would.

Broke my tolerance break. Had a bit of a stuck-in-old-patterns sort of day yesterday, a succession of bad choices led to a self imposed headlock. Proud to have not wake n baked before gym, bad habit, don’t want that in my life anymore.

Been doing the worst farts recently. Smoothie with spirilina, flax seeds, hemp seeds and linseed sure does do a number on the digestive system.

The key to handling a shitty day is to get back on track ASAP. I do miss getting high after a cardio day. One day won't reset your tolerance unless you're only a couple of weeks in though.

As I understand it 45-90 seconds is the range you should aim for if you're trying to maximise hypertrophy however I know that it's not like you completely negate all efforts if you break such a guideline.

I forgot to hit post when I wrote this 2 hours ago after said cardio but I'm still feeling it slightly. Weights tomorrow which is more fun at the time but I don't get quite the same buzz.

Fucked my sleeping pattern over the weekend bcuz late night booze and gta 4 session. At 1am today I accepted it might be better to just stay awake the next 19 hours. Went off and did cardio/pull up day at 2.30am lol.

Did 81 pull ups across 6 variations , 3 sets. No new PB but it’s a strong average and I’m happy with a performance like that, considering I had been awake for 15 hours at that point.

Max resistance cardio saw a good result - new PB of 60 RPM compared to my previous of 50. My legs are still pretty shit at it but at least I can get by and I’m sure in time I will reap the benefits.

I was day 14, not ideal. Definitely just learning the price you pay for slipping up, it set me up for days of consequences. Live. Learn. Repeat.

I went for 90 seconds timed rest today and it was ideal. Just long enough to shake off hardcore burn and still get a decent performance overall in a reasonable timeframe.

Gonna get high niw and meditate. Need to give myself some kind of rest If I intend to see through the entire day.
