That's super cool. Good work, dude(tte?)! So do you do art for money? If so, in what way? I do commissions for people I know sometimes, but I only charge about $10 because I'm only doing it for practice. My friends girlfriend does commission artwork and she gets paid up to $150 per picture, and to be honest (sorry to my friend), but I'm quite a fair bit better of an artist than her, and I've been told several times by complete strangers who have seen my art that I'm better than a lot of tattoo artist that they know. I'm currently in the middle of rounding off my general abilities proportion and shading wise and putting together a portfolio.

So, what all does that entail? My sister has a studio and sells her art professionally but she almost exclusively sells paintings. I understand ink sketches aren't very big in the art gallery business so I'm really looking to find how I can fulfill a career while still maintaining the style I enjoy.

often people like unrefined, emotional stuff and no perfectly calculated and shaded things. not sure what exactly you paint, but thats been my experience

here's a tip: make art that you enjoy making and looking at.
the "art gallery business" is a trap.

side note, tattoos are vastly different from paintings or ink sketches.
being able to apply a *quality* tattoo is no easy feat. even if you can draw you wouldn't be worth shit as a tattooer without a solid foundation of the technical aspect of using skin as a medium.

sure, you're probably better at drawing than lots of tattooers (because of how many shitty tattooers there are in your town) catch my drift?

apologies for the rant, I in no way am trying to dissuade you from making art. making art is fucking rad, no matter what you make. I get a little tired of people thinking that just because they can draw that they should be able to operate a tattoo machine just fine.
