I just tried making a kinda high video for a youtube series, and I do have to admit, making a video takes preparation and a bit of work. I got three minutes into the video and the batteries ran out. Then I took a quick look at it and it was terrible but a bit funny. I think i'll try again when I pick up some more weed.
The production value aspect gives me a bit of respect for those youtubers time and effort. Though sometimes watching people play rate video games for a life or daily vlog what they eat is just...

yeah sometimes i think about how i could make a series on history or science or music or whatever but I'd have to do a bunch of cutesy illustrations and have a gimmick and put sound effects everywhere. then i'd have to do a bunch of networking with more famous youtubers just so a handful of people would even see my shit.

I destroy lowly spider. The graphics in this made-for-youtube movie are par-excellence, the only movie with more funds put into production is Avatar 2. The careful splicing of scenes to give that otherworldly feel has left my audience ashamed at their own lack of substance. If you see one movie this year, don't watch anything

vid processing seems to need really powerful computers. Whenever Ive made stuff on Vegas the vid seems to downgrade a lot. Its something I should get back into but my PC is too slow.

I make tutorials on Youtube and I have over 200 uploads a of now. For me it takes a long long time to make the because firstly I take pride in my work and also that is a crucial thing for views subs and thus revenue.

For me it takes about 30 minutes to screen record what I need to do for the design tutorials, and then after that I need to edit the first edit which can take about an hour. From there I need to write the script for the tutorial and then I need to record my voice on a mic. I then I need to cut and edit my voice into a second edit over the top of the first, and then I have to work on all of the SEO for the video (SEO is crucial to get views especially for smaller channels)

This process can take anywhere from 4-8 hours in total for me to do for 1 video

I guess i'm the only person on youtube not trying to monetize my videos. Then again I haven't really got much of a following. 30 followers in 10 years but i've only really been uploading semi regularly for the past year and a half.
I just like the process of recording, editing, uploading and organzing my videos and then watching my analytics move around over the course of a month. I usually get about 700 views in total per month.

I've never really tried to put myself out there as a youtube personality or commentator on things outside of sarcastic video captions and the content i choose to upload it's self.

I create a lot of random shit and upload it among tons of gameplay videos.

I feel like if I really gave it a go I could make a decent channel without becoming an annoying stereotypical youtuber but right now i'm more focused on trying to eat more than once a day so I can't really put a lot of time, effort or thought into a side gig for funsies like a proper modern monetized youtube channel.

Whenever I start thinking about taking youtube seriously as a long term project I inevitably realize how futile it would actually be and that I honestly have nothing of value to share to anybody that would give enough of a damn.

"Hey guys, I like video games" fucking..great concept for a channel, never been done before, ever.

When I move to a space with more space that enables me to paint multiple large paintings at a time, I might try streaming myself painting. Twitch put up a section on their website where you can stream non-videogame shit.

Might be fun.

>SEO
Youtube is basically a search engine, so you need to optimise your titles tags and descriptions.

As for content, make something weird, make some strange shit. There must be more about you than just gaming lol, and yeah that is overdone to heck. So many beta males with a Minecraft channel with 700 videos and 10 subscribers

Hey OP,

I used to do a podcast on youtube with my boy, so I know the struggles. Biggest challenge is trying to be organic while the recording light is on. People act different when they know theyre being recorded so just be genuine, this may take a few episodes to get comfortable and nail down.

But yeah just keep pumping out consistent content and have fun. Once the fun goes away doing the recordings becomes a pain/chore.
