It's always said that people are objects or npcs in the heads of psychopaths, it must be a very lacking kind of life to be a psychopath don't you think? Just because you don't feel remorse doesn't mean you will murder just for the sake of murder and so it's telling how much them murderous psychopaths want what they kill for, it tells us they really lack something that must be substituted by any means. Therefore I kind of wonder, wouldn't the opposite of that be nice? Would anyone ever get bored in a world where statues look back at you?

What if I consider everyone else to be PCs and myself to be an NPC?

Then I'd say you weren't whole for some reason.

What if I consider myself and everyone else an NPC in a super-complex simulation and no one actually has free will it's all deterministic?

I'd say that if that were true, then they must have done a heck of a good job with their simulation. So good that everything in real life applies to our simulation.

Muderous psychopaths pretty much always have some kind of fetish or obsession in conjunction with psychopathy.

I mean, if you get off on fucking skulls or whatever, and there's no inside voice telling you that's bad, then why wouldn't you kill someone for their skull?

You've basically just described my childhood (not the psychopath part, the opposite bit). I don't know how related it ever was to being autistic (actually diagnosed, not in a sarcastic, meme context), but when I was a kid, some part of me was sure that certain objects had feelings. Often I imagined that figures with faces were vessels for souls that weren't- I don't know, let's say, "saturated" enough to occupy a whole person or animal. (Not that I would have used the word saturated as a child). As a result, I was profoundly upset at things like, another child dragging a stuffed animal around by its ear- knocking it into things or sitting on it. I hated when people discarded boxes of perfectly good toys instead of donating them, or defaced sculptures and such. Even a poorly treated bicycle was upsetting. So from my experience, no it wasn't exactly great. Even now, I subconsciously or semiconsciously ascribe feelings, memories, and experiences to inanimate objects. Particularly things that resemble living things, or tools that are meant to last a long time. Like, I've never replaced a phone before it stopped being able to do what I needed it to do, and I've never dropped one in water or allowed it to be cracked.

I used to get insanely upset when my mum would throw out my old shoes.

I'd see then in the bin and start screaming "THEY'RE DEAD!"

Okay for the record, when I played Half Life I went very much out of my way to not kill any scientists ...the first time around.
