On the one hand, I don't feel like telling everyone to use they/them pronouns with me. It is kinda silly and doesn't make much of a difference. On the other hand, I cringe whenever I'm called a 'man' or hear the pronouns. I always have felt like that.

Then again, if I was getting laid, I probably wouldn't care about any of that shit.

I just want to be pretty, and fuck other pretty, ambiguously-gendered people. Is that too much to ask?

Why do you need to be non binary to do this? why cant you just do this already? being non binary means you dont feel either way right? non binary is like a rejection of gender.

If you want to be pretty go be it. if you want to fuck people similar to you, go do it. Its not too much to ask its just that you seem to be going about it in a round-a-bout way.

This might sound insensitive but, for discussion's sake, if your gender dysphoria isn't so powerful that you have to transition, is it so bad to be occasionally identified as male via pronouns etc? I get that some people really don't fit the "traditional" ideas of manhood or womanhood very well at all, but I don't see why people can't just do their thing, dress how they want, live their life without making a big song and dance about being non-binary and not fitting in. A lot of people out there really don't fit into society in their own way, how is saying your non-binary anything more than a fashion statement? Does being called "he" really take anything away from your individuality? Does it really have such an impact on your perception of your own identity?

Right! I feel the same way. But I'm in my late twenties, and you and the other people who replied are the same way.

But the younger people are down with rejecting the gender they're closest to. It's a new social construct for sure.

It might, yeah.

I care, but I also have very tough skin and understand it's still an uncomfortable subject for a lot of people. So I don't try to flip out on them like a tumblr activist would. I feel like all that does is paint us as maniacs in their minds.

True. But if you live in a major metropolitan area, it's getting to be pretty normal.

I guess I'm non-binary. I'm DFAB, got on testosterone 8 years ago, had surgery 6 years ago, and most of the time I just live as a guy. Probably a day or two out of every month, though, I pass as a girl and go enjoy that. I usually just say I'm FTM, but it's probably closer to bigender.
