How feasible is molecular crafting? More specifically, can we negate global warming by vacuuming up greenhouse gasses and replacing them with nitrogen/oxygen, whatever would be needed to maintain current climate conditions?

The problem with removing CO2 from the atmosphere is that it takes energy. And what do we use for most of our energy? Fossil fuels.

Ikr that's what I was thinking. What if we siphon the energy into space with a huge superconductor, or convert it to electricity and store it?

it uses energy, it doesnt release it.

you know how when wood burns it kinda gets warm? thats the energy of carbon being oxidized to co2.
to get co2 to form oxygen and carbon again you have to put in energy

Guys, what if we designed self-replicating machines that broke CO2 apart into carbon and oxygen? Wouldn't that be great?
