They're just white LEDs. I don't even know what the square one is. My dad seems to think they do something but I tried telling him a thousand times about how you need the right spectrum.
Are these doing anything or is it a complete retarded waste?

white leds work very well for GROWING
for a good HARVEST you need to switch to YELLOW light when the f lowers come.

The best single LED for growing IMO (and many others) is the Samsung L561C, used in the Quantum Boards. Highly efficient white light. A lot of people are combining them with white COB LEDs like the Vero 7 and CXB3590.

Those will work fine, to get the best results use warm white (2700K) instead of cool white (6500K)
