Dude, whoever says you can't read text in dreams is full of shit, I was browsing 420chan in my sleep for about 4 hours last night. And yeah, a lot of threads that I just imagined, but some of them were real threads that I was actually reading yesterday and just made it into the dream by memory.

But I've heard/read that it's supposed to be impossible to read anything in a dream. Anyone experience anything like that, or is anyone else here able to actually read things in a dream?

Yes, i have read lots of things in dreams, starting from road signs to books to actually doing a math problem in a math class.

If you can imagine it, you can dream it.

It's called false awakening. Avoid it at all costs when you have a nightmare.
>Wake up next to monster
>Monster laughs at me
>Try to get help
>Repeat a dozen times
I guess that incident occurred because I was on antipsychotics at the time. They can get me sleep paralyses as well.

When I was binging on books when I was backpacking around Canada for like 6 months I was basically by myself for a week or so at a time, and would read like 8+ hours a day
I would have dreams almost every night where I would all I would see was pages with semi-nonsense words but I got meaning from them based on what I thought was going to happen.
Needless to say, reading things like The Wheel of Time and Joe Abercrombie's Law series was a little disorienting

whenever some scary shit starts to happen in a dream and i sort of realise i'm dreaming I just try to scream and contort my face into a screaming face as much as possible even if the dream forbids me from emitting noise cause dreams are strange like that sometimes.

Most of the claims about dreams out there are just myths/bullshit.

People claim you can't read, that times always change whether you look away from and back at an analog or digital clock, that the faces of people in your dreams are always faces of people you've seen before even if you don't consciously remember them, that looking into a mirror causes your reflection to look demonic, etc.

I've read plenty of times and looking at then away from and back at both analog and digital clocks has both caused time to change and stay the same for me. The brain also works by categorizing things, and you can visualize noses, eyes, ears, mouths, cheeks, skin tone/color, etc. separately without imagining whole faces. I don't see why it would be hard to imagine that your brain could form amalgamations of your memories of these separate parts of a face into brand new faces... so this is just a myth without basis too. I've also looked in mirrors plenty of times in dreams, and other than when I had a lucid dream when I was having some mild phenibut withdrawal where the dream was rather demonic feeling and in atmosphere to begin with, I've never looked demonic or even different than myself in my reflection.

i rember reading about reading in dreams, if you were able to read as a kid at quite young age then you have higher chances of reading in dream. same goes for boomers who dream in black and white because tvs back then weren't in color

I've read stuff in dreams before, even some things which were supposed to be life changing revelations only to wake up and realize what I was "reading" doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
