I got some Rumchata on sale, that came with a nice tall mug and glass. by Betsy Grimville - Sat, 31 Dec 2016 17:42:58 EST ID:3QWYzwWM No.271806 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

However, looking on the back of the box, it lists a bunch of recipes for mixed drinks. Now, I know I could drink it straight, and I've had a few sips. Tastes well, like alcoholic Horchata, which happens to kick ass.

One I noticed was a Rumchata Float, with either Coke/Pepsi, or Root Beer. I don't have any soda currently but might go get some. I did have some leftover Moutain Dew, and it tasted pretty good. I mean, people make Grape Soda Floats, Squirt Floats, 7-Up Floats, Dew Floats.

I think the Root Beer or Cola would be the best, though. THe MD one tasted good, but then it got all thick and stuff, and was like eating ice cream. I assume I need to either stir or mix or shake it, to get the liquid consistency?

What are your favorite Rumchata cocktails? Others on the box included Berries and Rumchata (like a smoothie), Hot Cocoa and Rumchata, Coffee (or some mocha drink) and Rumchata. I'd go back and look at the box but it's in the other room, and I'm lazy.

Please go ahead and post now! <3 the <3 mah ninjas!

I found this but still lack most ingredients. Maybe when my gf comes over I'll ask her to pick some stuff up.

A Jack and Rumchata sounds tasty as hell. Or maybe Fireball and Rumchata. Fuck why didn't I think of that.

It does sound fucking terrible. What is it with american alcohol brands trying to shoehorn flavors that don't work into alcohol just because they're popular? Like coffee tequila, pumpkin spice beer...
The other day I saw a fucking horchata craft beer for like $10 a 6pk.

Rum and horchata doesnt sound as bad but still pretty bad.

Going out later to the bar with my gf, and it's the first time I'm meeting some of her friends.

I don't want to get blackout, but I also don't want to spend a fortune on drinks. Is this good? If I order maybe one or two rum and cokes while there?

I haven't had a four loko since high school, but when I did I drank two, blacked out and woke up with all the hair on my legs missing.

We were having a fire up on this elevated, half-treehouse my friend had made in the woods when he was a kid. From what my friends told me, I finished my last four loko, stood up, mumbled something incoherent, fell face first into the fire, rolled and fell 14 feet onto a canoe below.

This was back when they still made 4lokos with caffeine. Still, all the best OP.

Anyone on here know much about home brewing?
I'm going to be broke for a bit so I have no money to drink so I decided to make some cheap hooch.
>put about 2 cups apple juice, 5 cups water, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and activated champagne yeast in each botttle
>put balloon over top and let it sit
>bottles showed signs of fermentation after less than 12 hours
>bottles now still bubbling but to an extremely limited extent
Pic related, I've brewed beer before but there was like a thick layer of foam during fermentation, there was only a thin layer with this and it stopped. It's still bubbling a tiny bit and the balloons are still inflated but I'm wondering if this shit is even still fermenting or not.

If you pricked a hole in the balloons for the gas to escape, then yeah it's still converting sugars and pumping out carbon dioxide. If you didn't, it might just be trapped gas. I've never made beer but I used to make giant batches of fruit wine in 5 gallon bottles semi monthly.

I don't, I was just suggesting the fact. I too have been where you both have been. I started drinking heavily after I was engaged to be married, and found out that not only was she lying, stealing from me, sleeping around, and everything she had told me was basically a lie.

We started out great, I don't know where things went wrong. She was so into me it wasn't even funny. She made the first moves, she asked for my number, for me to visit her, for us to have sex, etc.

Maybe me asking her to marry me scared her off. Sad thing is, now she has a kid, out of wedlock. The shit?

I have a new gf now, so I am not very heavy into drinking and am trying to curb it even lower because of my gf. I get testy and frustrated and upset when I drink, which is all a result of my actual Social Anxiety. But a few days sober, I feel fine and back to baseline. Exercise also helps.

I'm sorry you're currently drinking away your sorrows. I was there myself for 3+ years. I still go there sometimes, but it's much further and far between.

At t he time, it seems Alcohol or other drugs are the only way to cope, and hell, let's be honest, MAYBE they are.

Alcohol Withdrawl, Rehab Questions and a Useful Withdrawl Tip by Eliza Pecklepadging - Thu, 29 Dec 2016 12:34:09 EST ID:9P68OTdp No.271752 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

So I'm an alcoholic, not the 'oh i drink a few days a week and have trouble cutting back' type of alcoholic, but the drink half a handle a day and wake up in withdrawal every morning type of alcoholic. Hell when i'm drinking like that i never even get a full nights sleep. I down a few shots, smoke a bowl, pop some melatonin, sleep 3-5 hours, then wake up in withdrawal so i have to down a few more shots to sleep for a few more hours. I was functional like this for a while, but eventually it lead to me getting caught with alcohol on my breath at work. Thankfully, the place i work for is very cool and my boss gave me a choice. Get suspended temporarily and go to rehab and when you come back, we'll treat it like nothing happened or you're fired. This is for a very well paying STEM job that has been my career for the last several years and i don't want to lose it, so i'm going to rehab on Monday.

If any of you have been to rehab before, it'd be nice to hear your experiences. The place i'm going to isn't 12 step, which is nice because i've tried to do AA before and i hate it. Its too much like a cult. I want to talk to people about my problems, do group therapy and speak to psychiatrists, not talk about what step i'm on in a book that's last been updated over 50 years ago.

If you've never been through alcohol withdrawal, its worse than it sounds when you read the symptoms. I've done it a few times, milder ones cold turkey where its just anxiety, mild shakes, a general feeling like you're dying that is truly horrible and difficult to describe, severe insomnia, nausea etc. The description of the symptoms doesn't do it justice to what its actually like.

I've gotten a few hours into the more severe withdrawals where you start into alcoholic hallucinosis. This kind of withdrawal is, imo, probably not something 99% of people can do cold turkey.

It should also be noted that cold turkey withdrawal causes a lot of brain damage through excitotoxicity and kills brain cells through apoptosis. Its never a good idea to do cold turkey withdrawal. I have definitely gotten brain damage from my alcohol use. The only reason i believe …

So, now to the useful tip. A cheap way to do outpatient withdrawal that is just as painless as a benzo taper, but faster and you get to get high during it. It'll cost you less than $100, closer to $50 if you do it right, and all you need is 2-4 days where you can just chill and not have to do anything requiring attention like driving.

You need 2 things, both of which can be legally acquired without a prescription.

  1. Phenibut, a drug that acts primarily on GABAb receptors and is an alpha2delta subunit containing calcium channel inhibitor like drugs like pregabalin.

2. Dextromethorphan(DXM): get it at any pharmacy, you should probably know what it is, but its the active ingredient in cough medicine. Make sure that the product you get contains only DXM and/or DXM and guaifenesin. If it has anything else in it, its not safe to use. Slow release products like Mucinex DM or Delsym work best.

I can speak only to my personal experience regarding dosages. AFAIK, nobody has ever used this combo for withdrawal before, which is why i'm doing this, to share information.

The typical way i would start the taper is to get to a point where I am in mild alcohol withdrawal, like just when my hands are getting a bit shaky. Next, consume 4.5-6g of phenibut. This is a high dose, however you will need a high dose to stop withdrawal. Mind you this is for a half a handle/day at least habit, you may need less if you drink less, also i've always had a high tolerance to phenibut. My typical method is to dissolve the freebase powder in a large quantity of orange juice, 20-30 oz, and to sweeten it with sugar. Phenibut is a disgustingly sour drug, its exists as a zwitterion, a combination of the free amine base and the free acid carboxylic acid. The acid makes it super disgustingly sour tasting. The other form you might encounter it in is the HCl salt, which should be avoided as its less potent. In this form the amine is neutralized with HCl, however, the acid is the same, so they both taste disgusting. Dissolving it into something already acidic tasting such as citrus and sweetening it masks the flavor well.

A sufficient dose of phenibut will totally or near totally stop the alcohol withdrawal symptoms within 2 hours and will allow you to sleep. From this point on, you are using whatever dose of phenibut you found effective as a once daily dose for 3-5 days, i tend to prefer to go with the longer timeframe, especially for severe withdrawals. The best part is that you will still get high on phenibut. It stops the withdrawal and you feel good because phenibut doesn't really affect any of the receptors that alcohol does except for alcohol's mild effect as a GABAb agonist. It should be noted that phenibut alone can be effectively used for withdrawal like this.

I add the dxm because of concerns about excitotoxicity and because it also helps reduce the withdrawal effect on its own and should prevent the brain damage associated with excitotoxicity since the damage is caused through excess influx of calcium into neurons through NMDA receptors, which is associated with the withdrawal from alcohol. Alcohol is an NMDA negative allosteric modlulator and continued consumption of it increases the expression of NMDA receptors in the brain as a consequence of tolerance. When you stop drinking, the increased number of NMDA receptors plus the lack of inhibitory action due to reduced GABAa receptor activity, another consequence of alcohol use, causes a massive spike in glutamate levels in the brain, which triggers a massive influx of calcium through NMDA receptors. In a nutshell, the excess calcium causes inside the neurons activates caspase-3, a protein involved in the caspase cascade which causes brain cell death through cell suicide(apoptosis). DXM, as an NMDA antagonist that blocks the calcium channel on the NMDA receptor the same way as PCP or ketamine, prevents this influx of calcium and thus the brain damage. This is supported by animal models of excitotoxic brain damage.

No taper from this method is required at the end, as the alcohol withdrawal will be over and 3-5 days is not a sufficient period to develop physical dependence on phenibut. It should be noted that continued use of phenibut will result in a withdrawal syndrome similar to that of alcohol, but much more severe. Throw away whatever you have leftover. Daily use of phenibut is not a viable option to replace alcohol in the long term.

If you're wondering, my background is in biochemistry and cell and molecular biology and at this point i have a combined nearly decade experience with it, so i understand the terminology, theory involved, as well as the mechanisms in all of these things described and developed this method myself based on discovery that phenibut stops alcohol withdrawal and the independent discovery that dxm reduces the symptoms of it, but does not stop some symptoms alone like the severe insomnia and the shakes.

I cannot guarantee that this method is 100% safe, however, it is effective. Try it at your own risk, however, imo, the risks associated with continued alcohol use once a person is physically dependent far outweigh the risks associated with this method of withdrawl.

I've written this on day 2 of my withdrawal, i was awake for nearly 60 hours straight waiting for my phenibut to arrive with a rush order, and only got decent sleep (about 12 hours), last night and i have not proofread this entire thing, so i apologize for poor formatting and any spelling or grammatical errors. I'll be around off and on for the rest of the day to answer questions about my withdrawal method and hopefully to receive advice about rehab.

I hope you guys will find this useful

Right, but if you talk to God again, could you give these questions to him?

God, why is my mighty nation lost?
Why'd you let Jesus Christ be put on the cross?
Why is my people hurting and oh so sore?

Catholics will probably get a Black French Pope at some point in time. Or a Nigerian. There are already many high up Bishops and Cardinals who are black.

Francis Arinze is a high ranking Cardinal, and was in the running with Ratzinger.

Numerous African countries are very Catholic, so it isn't a stretch. And many black people in France seem to be Roman Catholic, as well.

Anyone give/receive some alcohol for the holidays this year?
My GF gave me pic related. It's very nice, usually I don't partake in bourbons or american whiskies because Jack Daniels left such a shitty taste in my mouth, but this has been some bomb-ass stupid-sauce. Smoother than most when taken neat.
My Old Grand-dad fucks me up.

I also tried some of that chocolate-y Winter Ale that those craft beer gentiles always crow about around the holidays. It gave me some seriously nightmarish morning coffee-beer shits.

What about you guys? Did Santa give you some nice medicine this year?

Was unsure whether to post this on /opi/ or here, but I felt like cross-posting wouldn't hurt. My dad recently had rotator cuff surgery and has a shitton of 5mg oxy's, but its combined with 335 MG of APAP. I'm planning on taking 3 or 4 on new years or sometime soon, and most likely drinking at the same time. Would ~900-1100mg of APAP be safe to take with 5+ drinks?

Seems really dangerous to mix APAP with alcohol, but everyone handles things different. As long as you aren't a skeleton, and you don't do this on even a semi-regular basis, you SHOULD be fine.

But I am not a health professional. Take at your own risk OP.

As the poster said above me, you probably should be fine with those dosages, again at your own risk

IIRC if you look on a bottle of APAP it says you shouldnt consume more than 3 drinks a day while youre taking it, youre liver is probably yelling at you for being an asshole but its not like youre doing this regularly(i hope)

I recently received a hard cider brewing kit. Came with a 1 gallon jug, vapor lock tube, siphon tube, yeast, and whatnots.

Now, I plan to start this this coming Friday. I've browsed the internet, read up on a couple of things. But now, I wish to ask the only professionals I trust, /hooch/ fuck /drank/.

Any 420Chan protips? I am going to order some vapor lock stoppers for the jug, but beyond that, I'm relatively open to suggestions.
