Do you guys like to drink fast or slow? Do you find there is that much difference between the two? If you answer try to include how much you drink per day, i wonder if there is a correlation between volume and speed or not.

I am a "fairly" slow drinker but i drink a lot. I mean fast by like normal people standards but if i'm looking to get drunk and pass out later i will drink 1-4 pints of beer per hour or whatever is comfortable. Weigh like 135. I prefer beer over liquor but occasionally i will try to drink liquor and i kind of stick to that speed anyway. I almost don't feel as drunk when i do it quickly, i feel more flushed than anything. The only time my face will get red is when i drink some liquor quickly.

But i always wondered if people do it for the initial rush then just pass out. I mean i normally enjoy the first 3-4 pints of beer more than the last of them. Maybe some of you guys like liquor because it is like alcohol crack or something.

Drinking quick gives you the rush of getting more drunker, I love that, but it lasts like 10 minutes at a time. It's chasing the dragon. I enjoy that sometime (like right now, lol, on my third beer this hour), but usually I like to slowly get drunk and have a more stable state. If you drink slow it's not even like you get drunk, you just alter your psyche a bit. Though that state is unsustainable, you'll probably end up getting wasted later. If I drink for the whole day it's usually a roller coaster of up and down.
Also I realize that I'm ranting, have a good one everybody

I like to drink my first few beers quickly then sip on them afterwards. It gives you the rush of euphoria from alcohol and then sipping helps sustain this feeling. Alcohol has a sort of two stage effect where at first you feel euphoric, confident, maybe with more energy than usual. The second stage is when the downer effects of alcohol kick in in which you do things you don't remember or pass out or just feel tired in general.
Ernest Gorringbanks - Fri, 19 May 2017 19:24:03 EST ID:GPxuHUKK No.274062 Ignore Report Quick Reply
This. Drinking fast allows me to feel the increasingly prevalent effects of the alcohol, which I enjoy. Whereas drinking slow is good for maintaining a buzz but if you drink too slowly you won't notice the change as much. A lot of the enjoyment of alcohol comes from not necessarily being intoxicated but feeling the increasing levels of intoxication. If I got to a level of drunkenness that I enjoyed and then just kept drinking one drink per hour to maintain that, it would get old pretty quickly and wouldn't seem like I was actually drunk, despite the obvious intoxication and impairment
Clara Gacklewater - Wed, 24 May 2017 02:03:19 EST ID:k2TayW/c No.274167 Ignore Report Quick Reply
I think drinking fast, like 80 proof, a half pint makes a not a nice buzz, but a head buzz that it mostly unpleasant. Beers are a different story. Drinking causally the same amount in a longer period of time, after an hour two hours, You will be just as buzzed as slamming, but a nicer buzz.. It's worth kicking back and mixing a couple drinks, a few in an hour and a half, you can focus on stuff more easilly,
accomplish more drinking in a casual manner.

When it gets warm enough to swim I'll bring beer, a disposable grill and some sausages out to the nearby lake.

I agree. When I think lake, my brain cannot accept any alcohol other than beer. Maybe because I'm a trashy loser. But if I'm lookin' at pine trees and water ripples and I ain't holdin' a beer can or bottle, I feel disappointment. Even if I had a luxurious, delectable liquor, I would still wish it was half-decent beer instead. Beer is the alcohol that helps bring out my primitive caveman essence. I don't need my gentlemanly essence dominating when I'm out in the wilderness, I need that unga dunga.

Well the issue with wine is that you'd get a significantly worse hang over from a comparable drunkenness.
Something about the phenolyiecs and sulfites contributing to the diuretic and overall toxicity of the ethanol which is already in itself pretty toxic and diuretic.

Anyway iirc 7 shots is almost exactly half a standard 750ml bottle of liquor and at 40% abv you're looking at about 1.5 to 2 bottles of wine for the same drunkeness.
Wine always makes me sloppier and sleepier drunk which "feels" stronger but it's really just the negative effects which I usually use to gauge my intoxication being ampliefied, not the ethanol intoxication itself.

Anyway I digress, half a bottle of liquor is roughly 1.5 to 2 bottles depending on the strength of either.

>Anyway iirc 7 shots is almost exactly half a standard 750ml bottle of liquor
did some booze math. 750ml is 25.3oz, shot glasses are usually 1.5oz, like 16.8 shots in a bottle.

the rest of that makes sense though. with one bottle of wine i'd risk a headache and still not get lit.

How the fuck do you lose weight while being a functioning alcy? it seems impossible to me.
There's so much calories in beer and liquor and shit. then you get hungry and might eat or pass out but fuck dude. You wake up and feel sick, eat, drink, etc.
I've heard of and seen people losing weight but that shit seems so unattainable.
Either you binge so hard you drop out of society and forget to eat all the time or you just compound food with drugs and liquor and get fat.
Do I have to stop drinking to lose weight? I really like alcohol.

I never even thought about the possibility that I'm alcoholic, I simply started drinking more and more without realizing.

These last two weeks I've either had two bottles of wine or a bottle of vodka every single day.

How does that compare to alcoholics?

Booze is the only drug that gets better and better the longer you do it. People get sick of pot, people fuck up their lives and quit opiates, amphetamine loses its luster, but the euphoria of booze only goes up, and you become more and more tolerant to the negative effects (slurred speech, stumbling, bad decisions, etc).

So a while back I was pretty poor and got into brewing up some of my own wines, it was cheap as fuck, easy to do and if planned right I could have constant wine that tasted okay.

I kept it cheap by just using juice from the store instead of any real wine stuff from a proper brewshop and could make a gallon of about 8 - 13% wine for around £2.50

I was wanting to get back into it but i much prefer ales and beer to wine and i was wondering if i could keep the costs as low as i did for wine, it seems to me it would be more expensive per gallon due to the ingredients, more chance of making a terrible tasting batch.

Also once i factor in the fact that ales will be pretty low % vs my wine I don't know if i can cover the costs.

Does anyone have experience? How cheap would a gallon be in your experience or guesstimates?

Ever since I was 17 (19 now), I'd drink pic related if I wanted to get drunk. Its a cheap ($1 per oz) but quick drunk. The alcohol content is 83% (so 160 proof?) and comes in 2oz bottles. The only other ingredients is water and oil of lemon. I'd say I have a bottle a couple times per week. Never more than 2 bottles at a time.

What Im wondering is, how much worse is this than regular alcohol? I dont have any older friends to get me good stuff and this works just fine. Am I doing any more damage to my body than regular booze?

Damn, I guess I would not want to ruin decent alcohol like that. I don't know, maybe there's something else I could add to wine to preserve it, besides more alcohol.

Like maybe Xylitol or Erythritol?

There's ways to get rid of the oil and a google search could probably help with that since I cant remember it too well, and the first thing that comes to my mind for preserving drinks is Sodium benzoate, a perservative found in basically everything due to its tastelessness and effectiveness

I would imagine its very easy to separate your ethanol from the oils

Uh oh, sodium benzoate reacts with Vitamin C to release benzene! Of course, Wine doesn't exactly have any, but it is full of fruity chemicals, and mixing in other things with Vitamin C would be a sure problem then. Of course, people drinking generally wouldn't worry about that, so it does sound usually perfect.

I wouldn't really want to mix potassium sorbate in either. (regardless of it being based on sorbitol, what with laxative effects much like Xylitol and Maltitol, though not so much Erythritol)

I'll look into Calcium Proponate more, with how useful it is for baked things as well.
