I usually take Xanax and drink water. If I can eat something I like a greasy meal. Or the classic crack open a beer and keep going. What do you do? Any unorthodox methods?

800mg Ibuprofen, few pills of Propranolol when you wake up.
Then take a massive shit to clean out your bowels.
Eat eggs, bacon and sausage and down with a few beers.

This usually cures it for me.

that only works if you're not deathly hungover.
I think we all know the feeling of being unable to drink water, much less alcohol.
In those situations some bread really helps stave the nausea enough to drink water and go back to bed.
Hair of the dog only works with minor hangover.

I remember someone telling me opiates are good for hangovers and looking at them asking really? That's when I realized I probably get worse hangovers than 80% of people out there. I like opiates but nausea would keep me from taking them. I'd easily puke.

Agreed OP. Benzos are the way to go.
Take some Alprazolam or Diazepam, chug some water. If I have no appetite, maybe smoke some weed to get my appetite going, then eat something greasy. Nice hot shower, then brew a nice pot of tea and relax and watch shit/play vidya. Hangovers can be quite fun if you've got the right stuff.,

I dunno if it's true or not but my grandfather used to make prarie oysters all the time. Pretty fucking disgusting if you ask me (never tried one, but it seems nasty as hell) but I don't think he'd drink them for no reason. Might be an effective cure, if I had the balls to try it.

Nothing really works for me.
I make sure to stay hydrated and take b-vitamins which I think makes it a bit less severe.
I mostly try to plan so that the times when I get really drunk is when I don't have to do stuff the day after. I try to just take it easy, eating fast food and watching movies/series/anime.

It sucks, but I always drink water and go for a long jog or do some kind of exercise that gets sweaty. As long as you properly hydrate, it's a good way to force some of the alcohol out of your system.

Also, eggs

Milk is something that's part of many people's breakfast in the morning. I suspect you and your friends were not drinking properly, and were just groggy at wake up rather than suffering from a proper machismo hangover.

Great sruffs, the greasy foods mix up, have these 'before' drinking.

Potatoes though will fix it alll.

After several years of alcoholism, I have cultivated the ability to focus my mind away from the pain of the hangover. Almost like a Bijani pain trance, but without the loss of consciousness. As soon as I become aware of the headache, dehydration, nausea, etc., and assess the intensity of the sensations, I can just ignore them and stoically focus on the task at hand. I also take stock of how I feel hour by hour, and as the hangover slowly recedes over the course of the day I harness this to help push myself forward and ignore the pain.

Of course I try to have some greasy food, drink lotta wotta, etc., but sometimes the hangover is a mighty foe and you have to keep it from infecting your mind.

Drink a lot of water before bed, I mean a shitload. More than you're comfortable with. It will not kill the hangover, but at least you won't get the worst headaches and stuff.

If you actually can't keep anything down because of nausea, i'n talking like REAL bad. Like you FUCKED UP BAD and were a stupid ass about your alcohol intake, try taking a tiny bit of dramamine or benedryl. They are essentially the same drug. Make sure you force food down your stomach during the no-nausea window then maybe fall back asleep. By a tiny bit i mean like anywhere from a half a pill to two pills of either (virtually the same dosage). All dramamine is is benedryl bound to stimulant like molecule to reduce drowsyness. 50mg of DMH equals something like 24mg of DPH.

I'm sure a tiny bit of weed would help you more, it kills nausea and makes you want to eat. But if you can't get it and it is an emergency i'd take that stuff. Saved my ass once, i stopped puking and actually forced down enough food to make my stomach manageable.

Doubt i will ever drink like that again though. I drink a lot but that was really stupid.

Sorry I'm drunk and high but this is really obvious

For mild normie hangover: be lazy, drink water, eat something, wait
For moderate hangover: The same and you might feel nauseous. At this point a benzo will help if you actually need to do something but you shouldn't abuse those so it's preferred to just chill out and not take anything
For withdrawals: benzos, vitamin b12, proper hydration etc etc

And of course a drink will work for a hangover for a long time (it's not as fun anymore, though) but I had to stop when my financial situation got worse (9 months of daily drinking) and I tried to taper when suddenly I thought I was dying (this was mostly due to dehydration and withdrawal anxiety). Then I got an IV drip of something for hydration and diazepam + b12 injections and that helped me. That's not a long process, but then starts the adjustion to regular life.
I don't know why I submitted this to a hangover cures thread, but I am high and I think the point is that there is no real cure for a hangover. A drink will make it come later, but then it will be worse. Benzos are a real cure but if you keep relapsing you will just be a benzohead+junkie I guess? So keep them for real wds

I've never found anything to work besides more booze/benzos or time.

Hangovers for me are so much weirder than the normal stereotype. I feel absolutely strange, I can't sit still, colors are all fucked up like I'm in a cartoon, then like six hours after waking up I'll vomit violently and immediately feel better, or better than better, relaxed and chill. I don't even know, GABA rebound + a psychotic illness can get weird.

I've always thought there's a certain psychedelic tinge to a really bad hangover. I get impulsive and slightly hysterical as well, somewhat /stim/-esque.

This is only above a certain amount of booze, lesser hangovers are more prosaic and mainly consist of feeling shitty and needing water and sleep.

I'm 35 years old and I get horrible hangovers. I know all the memes: Hydration. Pedialyte. B-vitamins, Magnesium, Emoxypine, etc. Nothing works. My hangovers last 2 to 3 days. It's enough to make me seriously think about stopping drinking.

Same but I am only 23. I have almost quit drinking because the hangovers are just that horrible, two days of what feels like heroin withdrawal.

These days I just drink with other drugs to boost the effects, getting smashed is not in the agenda. Shame since I really enjoyed staying home alone and downing a bottle of booze alone.

Can't relate to much, but I also do end up puking a long time after waking up often. Mostly it's because I wake up still drunk and the alcohol starts leaving my body way later. It's the buildup of that metabolite acetyl-something that causes the most nausea

Drink enough water before while and some after drinking. Have water by your bed/cuuch wherever, and take a few drinks when you roll over that direction, especially if you do not feel like reaching over for that glass, through the night.

Only takes a moment and while you are sleeping is really the best tine to add some water to you system rather than after you become mostly dehydrated by
the next morning. Better than slamming lots of water before going to bed
in my opinion, do drink water before bed though. Do try not piss yourself
either in the given time to sleep.

Drank 9 beers last night, finished off the sesh with a couple bowls, a heap of chinese food, and then a few cups of water after the meal before going to sleep. Woke up feeling a little worn with a very slight headache but nowhere close to what a 9 beer hangover can be like. Now I just waked and baked, casually sipping on hot coffee and feeling fine
