What do you all think about this, lol? The price translates to about 20$ even though the 500ml bottle you see is only around 8$ and is the same concentration but a different brand. Certainly more convenient than vodka.

I'm pretty certain you can't just open that bottle and start glugging it

FTFY
The liquor guide you my son
But for real everclear and this European equivalent are pretty fucking wild man you probably shouldn't drink it straight unless you're not a pussy then go for it it's not too bad you get hammered quick so you don't really feel it. I guess my moral is...go for it?

don't they say pure alcohol makes you blind and coagulates your proteins in your blood and shit? i've heard stories about youngsters who drank it and just straight died. probably you can down too lot of alcohol this way and get fucking OD aka alcohol poisoning. OP just buy it and mix it with water 1:1 aka 50%.

You're thinking of improperly distilled moonshine with methanol in it

I'm pretty sure that symbol means PROOF, not percent. It's 96 proof, which is 48%. It's a strong vodka.

Couple things. First, "pure" alcohol (~100%) is really only used in laboratories. It contains trace amounts of benzene, since it's impossible to distill alcohol to that level of purity.

However, 95% alcohol (standard everclear) has its own dangers. Of course some youngsters have died drinking it. They're stupid and don't know their limits.

It's also pretty harsh on your throat when it goes down. You're not gonna die from a couple shots, but you'll get drunk very fast, have a sore throat and probably hurt your stomach more than usual. Try it sometime, and you'll see there's no reason to ever do it again,

The "going blind" thing is from what methanol, like Shitting said.

Oh wait. I can kinda see the official-looking "96%" on the label.

Normally, that degree symbol means proof, since it's short for "degrees proof". Like, look at a 151 rum label.

it's possible, and people do it, but taking anything that strong neat is something you'll regret. booze 70% and up is really for making tinctures and spiking punches
