I want to try CBD tinctures, but I'm subject to drug tests. The serious, US DOT lab urinalysis tests. Do they check for CBDs? Or only THC?

Well, the answer to your direct question is no. Drug test batteries test for parent THC and two metabolites of THC, and do not test for CBD.

However, it is common for people to test positive when using CBD oil because despite being advertised otherwise many CBD oils contain THC.

Eh, depends. There are cananaboids that are only found in marijuana. Some labs would test for cananaboids. Or I have seen lab results showing these. Quite interesting.

I don't know of any tests that are more rigorous than to test for hydroxy, carboxy and parent forms of THC. CBD oil, if it's just CBD won't show any of those.

But I think it's unlikely there's a lot of CBD oil that doesn't contain THC, and I doubt the OP is going to be GC/MSing the stuff before he took it.
