Where my Wheel Of Time fans at? I just started a re-read tonight and wanted to get a thread going for the coolest fantasy series in history. Sorry Lord Of The Rings fans, but these books will always be to me what Tolkien is to most. Maybe some of the middle books get braid-tuggingly slow, but the series overall is a godsend

Did nothing for most of the day besides read for a quite a while

A battle between good and evil that repeats every generation through reincarnation told throughToliien style quests through the woods and across countrysides, and political maneuvering and wars done like a less edgy Game Of Thrones. A lot of the plotlines sound cliche now, but this series did the most at moving fantasy from the Tolkien style into the modern era. Recommended if you don't mind worldbuilding over action often, and characters for days.

Didn't the author die before the ending? How did that effect the series?

Made it better, it became clear he was spinning his wheels and never going to write a concrete ending. One he died, they hired Brandon Sanderson, the top guy in modern fantasy, to write the ending (based entirely off the original authors notes and concepts) and for the most part he captured the writing style.
