Hey Guys

I wanted to see in anyone one here had ever heard of this guy Without a Face. Its this guy's acoustic one piece with some really great well put together songs, most of them pretty funny. I listened to him a lot a few years ago and decided to look him back up recently. I sort of wanted to see what people thought and if anybody had heard of him before. I'll post a few songs.

As I see it grunge was just a softer version of sludge. Grunge gave disaffected white kids shows they could go to fucked up on drugs, but only have to associate with their 'own'. the same kids couldn't go to Eyehategod, Buzzoven or Despise You shows because being around legit addicts/scumbags/criminals made them uncomfortable

I don't believe grunge was a genre:
nirvana was a punk band
alice in chains was a post metal band
soundgarden was alternative rock
Jane's addiction were a few things; stadium rock, alternative rock, and others but they weren't grunge either.

None of these bands have that much in common...

Oh and fuck yeah nirvana. Very poetic in his words, singing and playing even if it isn't superbly technical or conforming to traditional beauty. I guess that's why some people say he modeled his sound of sonic youth's....

Sound doesn't get worse over time. 128Kb is really iffy, with a good format it's hard to tell unless you're actively looking for compression and using decent speakers but if you want something to listen to on the treadmill at the gym, unless it's wma it's going to be more than up to task, and that will never change. 64k and 96 always sounded bad, 128 usually has a little bit of compression in some of the highs, 160-192 will cut it if you're not an audiophile. Same as it was 10 years ago. Of course I do most of my listening while at the gym or walking to places so high quality sound is entirely wasted if I'm trading off something like say.. more songs for it.

I've slowly upped the sound quality I've used over time but that's because storage has become cheaper. Music collections grow linearly while storage keeps growing geometrically. This means that the best sound quality for an individual will increase over time but none of this implies the sound will actually get worse.

Speakers haven't really changed in forever, at least not the speakers most people use. My headphones now are as hit and miss as the ones I would buy when I was 15. Of course thanks to inflation they're about twice as expensive but whatever.

bleh my music is so unorganised right now, have a new music folder that I never sorted into my normal music folder that's 16.7gb with ~3,000 files and my music folder is 178gb with 28,500 files
Really need to sort it out... I had a portable HD with 100gb of stuff I collected while travelling around but my last day while travellig I dropped it and now my computer doesn't recognise it, that made me pretty sad but oh well haha.
So many loose files on here I need to sift through my days... I've put it off too long

I hate music.
(It has too many notes.)
/mu/ is shit, anyhow, not enough good discussion, too many image dumps of Korean waifus and threads about Kanye West. People don't really get minimal/ambient techno there, either, so there's no real discussion of those and no help as to my budding interest in it. I will say, they have some good shares.
So, how do I 420chan?
Pic not that related: it's Diana Ross.

I like minimal techno, it's been awhile since I looked into it though, pretty much all I have is Emptyset (which is amazing), October, Extrawelt, Porter Ricks and SleepArchive. Also stuff like Pantha Du Prince, Marc Houle and Ripperton is nice. Could always use some more. I love really deep hypnotic music for when playing Yume Nikki and other odd games :) put me in a weird place

Help us look for the subliminals, then. I knew this LP was palindromic, now it's confirmed for being intentionally so. There are FLAC and 320 rips of this record now, and listening in better quality through headphones gives me a weird, deep feeling in my ears and brain. Especially with the bass turned up on the EQ. Do you think they've put things like binaural beats or databending in here? Somebody analysed one of the tunes (don't remember which) through a Spectrogram and found something not too unlike Farsi script.

IDK man, somewhere on /mu/ or Twoism.
Also, I reversed the sequence of the tracks, and the transitions are so much better. The whoosh of Collapse to the reverb of Sick Times is just perfect.
I also exploited the "mirror image" aspect of it further, and did something like 1-16-3-15-5-4 etc, and a reverse of that as well. All of these alternate listings flow just as well if not better than the originals.

Why do some people prefer on ear over in ear monitors?

I just picked up a pair of sony mdr v6 recently and they dont quite live up to what i was hoping for. The sound stage is great and more defined but I just cant adjust to them while spinning a set. The in ears seem to be more bass heavy and overall more powerful as well as isolating, these are cheap in ears that have begun to wear out that Im comparing by the way. The on ears seem to lack in power to be able to clearly hear what the track will sound like on the monitor.

What are these over ear headphones best used for any ways? I figured they would work better for producing with my daw instead of what they are intended for witch is dj headphones

... Any opinions on any thing related?

they arent out performing them in terms of sound quality but isolation, and just generally having a more defined sound thats easier to hear when i got other tracks playing in the back ground at the same time. This might be just due to having in ear in general.
They are skull candy inkd, like I said cheap but gets the job done. Also they're the best for their price range

Skull candy in ears are actually quite good, the over ear cans for skull candy are absolute crap though yes just garbage. Only flaw with them would be the amount of time they last, so lol yeah they seem to have worn out on their own fairly quickly even when never played past 30% of their maximum out put.
