You know what this world reminds me of? The Jim Jones suicide cult. That's what I think this has all come to. I think you all will drink the cool-aid, and go along with the censorship, and they'll take away all of your rights but you'll all be too afraid to do anything. And you'll end up taking the cool-aid beause (well jeeze, everyone else is doing it! They're gunna make me do it anyways, I practically have to!) You're all the type of people to get herded into a gas chamber when there's only 20 guards. Because the most important thing is people control everyones mind through fear, even though the ruling elite is always a minority, they control people through their base instincts and make them lambs for the slaughter. I can see you all for what you are.

bad move man. "24hr lo-fi hip hop stream/[animescreencap]/adult swim bump/nujadilla type beat" is meme music now. taking boring, generic, derivative, uninspired, musical illiteracy to the next level. at this point it's almost as bad as vaporwave/futurefunk in terms of laziness but at least that shit has better album covers.

Im really curious, Do you still buy physical music? from a store or online? do you just use a streaming service? is it worth it?

I buy cds and to a lesser extent, records from physical stores unless its a unsigned band where i buy the cd from bandcamp.

How do you consume music? do you even buy music?

I usually buy CDS or albums off amazon. if you buy the CD itself depending on the band, the MP3 version of the songs are there

I mostly use youtube to listen to music but youtube doesnt have all the music available during those eras. I listen to alot of stoner 80s/90s type music and alot of the time I have to buy the entire CD off amazon in order to listen to the full album which is fine by me.

I usually order CD's from my local music store.
Thank god for the Vinyl revival that keeps them afloat.

If they can't get something I usually use Marketplace sellers off of Amazon.

Also I browse the local thrift shop and pawn shop for some unexpected finds.
One time a collection of unopened Metal CD's appeared at the thrift shop for 2 bucks each. Got some things I had been looking a long time for. Was a good day. Support local as much as possible.

nah but it's just whatever you wanna do innit. I like some of the things I made first because I didn't know any genre tropes. Everything was too fast, too slow or just totally unlike the genres I was trying to emulate.
That being said, been able to read and write music since I was 6, so there might be an advantage in that. That being said, music software is just that; software. It's like learning photoshop.

I don't think jenk is a real drug that people often times do. I've heard theorys that it could possibly work by cutting off oxygen to your brain because you'd breathe in less oxygen when breathing in the poo steam. If this is true, you'd probably get the same buzz by just holding your breath in a bunch of times in a row or strangling yourself with your hands. I wouldn't recommend using a rope, though, because even if you don't completely cut off your airway for a long time, the rope could cut off your neck arteries and you'd pass out and possibly die if the rope isn't loosened. If I did listen to music while smelling shit, i'd probably listen to hip hop because it's so shitty XD LOLOLOLOL. I wouldn't do it, though, because I have a fear of vomiting and the hip hop would probably make me vomit if I had to listen to it for an extended period of time.

>>450795 I know a lad that sucked a dick in a back alley for one more huff of a fermented shit balloon, it's a bit insulting to suggest he did that for a joke. It's more than just the oxygen deprivation, you can get certain effects depending on your diet - I like a fruit-heavy diet for the 3 weeks leading up to the first harvest, the smell of poop is not so bad and I find the high to be more introspective than when I tried one with a lot of red meat.

It's simply a matter of how good your hearing is. Loud bass is felt more than heard, so people with shitty ears gravitate towards it. Most people have bad ears because noise pollution is getting worse. Light and noise pollution are killing art.

I'm relatively indifferent to this suicide. The dude could sing, but wasted his talent making mediocre music. Definition of a sell-out. It's hard to find sympathy for artists who willingly choose the corporate-friendly path and are miserable because of it. At least he doesn't have to put up with that shit any more.

Regardless, losing a creator is always worth grieving. He did more than most humans even attempts to do. RIP.

I think bass is more touted in our culture as being sexy and cool. Since it used to be you couldn't get it in shitty 70's cars and am radio static and having a system that can do loud bass cleanly is more difficult than tweeters doing good highs.

So now everybody has to put everything else at -10 while bass is +10. Even the faggy white kids in monster trucks come by with country music blasting that has nothing but bass in it.

Man, I can't believe Green Day is still around doing stadium tours. I loved them growing up, then they kinda faded away after Nimrod. Then when I started college they came back with American Idiot which was surprisingly great (at the time? I dunno, I haven't gone back to listen to it in many years). Saw them live at the time since I was too young to see them back when Dookie came out, they were awesome. I got some e-mail the other week from Live Nation because they still e-mail me Green Day-related news because of those concert tickets I bought over a decade ago and they're playing a show out here where pit tickets cost like $160 fucking dollars (and seated tickets cost $120-$140). That's insane. That's like the amount I remember tickets costing to see Queen + Paul Rodgers or Van Halen a decade ago. It boggles my mind that Green Day has that same concert clout to charge that much.
