Can we have an ambient music thread? It's raining outside and I am just chilling with a coffee listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om-iZHrE1S8

Found this one just yesterday, it's incredible. A little quicker at the beginning but most of it is pretty slow.

Here's one from Adam Young, definitely good with some rain.

This reminds me of something I used to be very fond of... The whole album is pretty extraordinary.

I listen to much more ecstatic music nowadays.

This is good stuff OP. Sometimes it's nice to turn the brain off and get those melty floaty noises washing around the room .

Nice thread.

Put on some Aphex Acid and love the old school:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw5AiRVqfqk (with beats)

And then some cold ambient with Biosphere:

Step inside this album. The fact that you mentioned rain is all the more perfect; it comes most alive with weather beside it.

My top 3 ambient artists I can think of right now

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 (whole album, Xtal is my fav track)

Tycho - A Walk

Boards of Canada - Roygbiv

Balam Acab - Wander Wonder (whole album) - it's amazing

Right on. For me it's Ambient 4 > 2 > 1 > 3, but they're all amazing. Discreet Music was groundbreaking, but not as polished as these gems. My favorite track from 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH3t3ua68Qg
And while I listed 3 last, how can you listen to this and not just wanna meditate like a muthafuka?

Definitely the best song, but that entire album is golden. And you're correct, it's from the scene where they see the wild horses unaffected by rage.

Anyone who has listened to Man With A Movie Camera is a real ass nigga. *salute*

The latest Illum Sphere album is pretty good as well.

So much good ambient music, gonna go through all these other links and recommendations and continue building my collection

Sounds a bit like the 90's scene ambient mixed with chill like Mixmaster Morris aka The Irresistible Force did. I fucking love that shit.
