Red meat and bulk fiber are terrible for your digestive system. Smoking and processed red meat are just as bad realistically. Fiber that is a bulking agent in the colon is garbage like cereal and baked beans. Big food companies pay doctors and have advertisements saying you need more fiber but they don't tell you what kind of fiber. You want insoluble fiber like salads, corn and lettuce. Bulk fiber makes your turds the size of bricks and causes colon/bowel issues. Red meat is very difficult to break down by intestinal flora meaning that the movement is extremely slow and the amount of intestinal bacteria dies off or isn't in ample supply as they can't break down the red meat fast enough to supply large numbers. (Which you want.)
