I was explaining the word "bruise" to a learner who didn't know it and the phrase "black eye" and I was talking about how we always call them black but they can be lots of colours.. they start pink.. then go purple... then black.. purple.. then blue.. then green.. then yellow.. and finally fade away

but it occurred to me that this might be a white thing, with white skin being so transparent

Well this is clearly a stupid question so I thought I'd ask on here, what colour is your skin and what colours do bruises go for you?

its the same as white people but with the darkness of the skin color overlaid. so on a black person there is still a brown/black component of the bruising, its just a little harder to see because there is less contrast. think of tattoos on a black person
