Well at least you took it to the right board
i'll look at these so-called "facts" you referred to then

>CM Punk sucks
In a purely MMA sense, we haven't seen him in an actual fight yet, so who knows? Opinion
>Dude is stalling UFC
Maybe, maybe not, who can say unless you're close to him? Speculation
>Dude will not fight one single time in UFC before retiring
Speculation
>Will retire due to age/injury/surgery
Very well likely but not a fact. Speculation
>Been in UFC for 2 or 3 years
Fact
>Zero fights

Does UFC actually license copyrighted music for their shows? I googled and saw fans complaining some songs were edited on Ultimate Fighter. I'm watching on UFC TV and already heard a few legit songs. Do they pay to use this music on their streaming service? Or is it some kind of loophole where it's only background music for the arena? (It's not really broadcast through a sound board to the main feed.)

Wait is that played on TUF anymore? I used to love that. I miss the TIME TO END THIS SUFFERING song at the start as well, so shitty it works.

It sucks with the music though I understand why. Some of the songs are so iconic, Silva with DMX, Wandy with Darude, BJ Penn with that IZ song, absolute favourite though is Weidman and Tom Petty, every time I hear that song I get goosebumps because of him.

Is it only the UFC that's under these strict laws? I'm watching a replay of an Australian card and they're playing like Kendrick and popular stuff as the entrances which they were playing live that night. It almost actually sounds like they later dubbed the songs over the video later since it sounds so clear, but I know those were the songs that were playing since I was there. Is it just because Australia might be free of those laws or is it because it isn't a big promotion they don't care? But even then it's on the Fight Pass so the UFC must know about it

tl;dr: artists don't provably lose any money from it, and the fighters/UFC don't provably make any money from it, so there are no damages to be collected...

if they change the music, they are just covering their ass, because even if they know they'll win in court, going to court is still expensive & can bring in bad press.

Yeah that makes sense, could be a jurisdiction thing too. I also thought that the smaller promotions probably don't make any money worth going after by music companies or artists anyway.

It''s just a bit weird that even the smaller promotions that are broadcasted and have their replay streams hosted by the UFC on their official site aren't changed though all the big ones are, just a consistency thing given they're on the same service.

Ronda Rousey says suicide crossed her mind after first UFC loss by Cyborg Santos - Thu, 18 Feb 2016 01:14:35 EST ID:b/JS5SQc No.56771 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply
File: 1455776075474.jpg -(219281B / 214.14KB, 1000x750) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size. 219281
>On a segment that will appears on Tuesday's episode of Ellen, an emotional Ronda Rousey told host Ellen DeGeneres that she contemplated suicide following her November 2015 loss to Holly Hom.

>The former UFC champion appeared on the show to help promote her Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, but the first part of their conversation centered around her title loss to Holm, the first time she's truly opened up on camera about that night. At first, subdued and serious, she said that things weren't perfect going into the fight but that's how things go. She cited that it was her third title fight in nine months and that she felt tired, but nothing too out of sorts with other fights she's had.

>She said that Holm's first shot "knocked out on her feet", cutting open her mouth and knocking her teeth loose. She lost her depth perception and that she was swinging blindly.

>She then got choked up when talking about what happened in the locker room afterward. She said she thought, "What am I anymore if I'm not this?" and said she had thought about "killing myself" and that she was "nothing" before looking up to boyfriend and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne. She said she saw him, thought that "I need to have his babies and to stay alive" and that he was meant to be there at that time.

>She said she does want to fight Holm next and to be the one that beats her.

How would you feel knowing that you contributed to bullying Ronda to suicide by saying mean things about her /mma/?

This kind of thing is a joke from a historical stand point but also funny to watch.

The rules basically reduce it to armoured grappling (which would actually be cool to see) but to try and pretend it is "close to real medieval fighting" they force them to hold weapons at all times.

The armour they wear has to be a certain thickness and the weapons have to be specially made to be "safe". On top of that strikes to unarmoured or lightly armoured areas are not allowed, this totally removing any historical type of armoured fighting tactics which naturally was all about bypassing the armour.

The vast majority of the injuries unsurprisingly come from joints being injured during takedowns and scrums. With nastier injuries turning up when either the organisers don't care about safety (eastern europe) or a competitor is an idiot and doesn't wear good armour. Or of course someone just getting unlucky and taking a hard hit to a lightly armoured location.

If he's jsut revealed himself for the first time how does anyone know that nobody in the entire UFC roster wants to fight him? I'd imagine the only reason they wouldn't want to fight him is that he's a nobody who won't help their careers by beating.

He's spent his whole life in jail and only recently picked up actual training. I'd imagine even Kimbo could beat him.

Nobody wants to fight him because he's a mobbed up biker enforcer so worried that gangsters will show up to your gym and demand you take a dive for a payout.

There's also visa issues, he's unlikely to be able to get one to go into the US/anywhere and fight being he has a huge criminal record so is stuck in Australia. His May 7th fight iat "Urban Fight Night 7" is already sold out

No one in the UFC wants to fight him because he's a nobody in the MMA world, they don't have anything to gain from beating a 0-0 fighter, or even putting him on the card.

The guy sounds like a dick from the way he speaks and what he's done, but good on him for trying to change. Martial arts is a great way to get your anger and ego in check, since you're constantly being humbled and beaten by those in your gym.

Physical fitness and aggression will only get you so far though, depends on what kind of karate his opponent trains in too.

There's nothing in the article about UFC, just no local promotion would touch this guy due to his criminal history and every fighter dropped out when they discovered who he was. Yeah I mean the OP talking about the UFC stuff, and a lot of the local fight promoters here in Australia, at least in Victoria are pretty shifty, I don't imagine it changes over the border. I doubt his criminal record has anything to do with the promoters, the fighters more likely.

That didn't look very egregious, I've seen people take way more unprotected shots to the head in UFC than that. This guy turtled up and had his hand up before the ref rightfully stopped the fight so he didn't actually get KO'd. I wouldn't fault either the ref or the other fighter for this, just seems like it was an unfortunate accident. Reminds me of that old story about pro wrestler The Great Khali training in California where the guy he was training with suffered a severe concussion but didn't tell anyone and so when Khali powerbombed the guy during a training drill it killed the guy. Seems similar here where Carvahlo just took one too many shots to the head and likely would have died either way after this fight regardless of the stoppage.

Anyone picking Nate over Mystic Mac tonight? I've watched the non believers get their asses handed to em over and over again it's hard to doubt Mac has this shit under control.. But this is a huge step up for him... He's going straight from midgets to tiny men

>Diaz v McGregor rematch for UFC 200

Guess we have to keep the cash cow away from Frankie so we can milk it as long as we can

If they seriously do this shit then McGregor needs to be stripped of the belt. At the very least an interim belt needs to be made before UFC 200. Who would Frankie fight for the belt? Aldo?

Fight makes no sense at all. They're throwing Conor to the wolves again, and it's bad for business for him to lose. If Conor couldn't beat Nate on two-weeks notice, how is he going to beat Nate with three-months preparation? Conor's aura is already gone, and the more he loses, the more his star will fade.

I agree, he hasn't even defended his belt once. Frankie/Aldo makes the most sense, but Max Holloway could definitely be involved if there was an injury.

Like it makes absolutely no sense that he can just dodge his division like this when there's fights there waiting for him. It's not like he's GSP who cleaned out his entire division, McGregor jumped over so many people to get a title shot and now they have to wait even longer.

I mean he's as much of a champion as Carla Esparza was.

McGregor VS Diaz did 1.5 million PPV buys, of course the rematch will immediately happen. Also, this rematch with Diaz is to keep McGregor in welterweight for the inevitable GSP vs McGregor superfight. Then McGregor retires win or lose with $50 million and we never see him again except in Hollywood.
