Nothing from Meltz, but Bloody Elbow is reporting Jones was just in some accident and the fight is NOT off.

Ariel Helwani says he's trying to get in touch with sources, but none of them have talked to Jones in the last 24 hours.

MMA Weekly is reporting Jones is wanted for QUESTIONING (not arrest) by Alburquerque PD.

It's a legal tactic to run from an accident scene if you're under the influence.

To defeat an impaired charge just don't be around when they want to drug test you, or leave and come back saying you consumed booze and/or drugs after the accident. Leaving driver's licence or other identifying papers at the accident scene, you can escape a charge of leaving the scene of a crash. A corrupt cop in Canada did this to escape a DUI/homicide charge http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/02/14/monty-robinson-rcmp-crash_n_1277440.html

Nothing will happen to Jones as $10 million buys some good lawyers but I don't know if you can fight in UFC with a criminal case hanging over your head they'll probably have to pull him.

Jones' status has been upgraded to suspect, and apparently nobody has been able to contact him since the alleged incident. There's probably fire to all this smoke, I can't remember a fighter/athlete being this publicly searched for and not turning himself in since War Machine. If there was no truth to any of it, Jones would've made a public statement and turned himself in. Instead, he appears to be hiding.

Here's an update from our Lord and Savior "Big" Dave Meltzer:

>The latest on Jon Jones is this. Jones has not yet turned himself into the Albuquerque police after an alleged hit and run after a three-car collision. The 25-year-old woman who Jones allegedly crashed into after a running a red light suffered a broken arm, but her pregnancy was not affected by the accident. Jones is being charged with a felony leaving the scene of a crime. A second car was also hit containing a 38-year-old male and three children ages 8 to 10. Jones is believed to have been driving a 2015 Silver Buick rental car from Enterprise in Albuquerque. The officers found a marijuana pipe with marijuana in it in the car that was abandoned, as well as paperwork belonging to Jonathan Jones, with indication he was an MMA fighter. They found his phone number and police called him multiple times with no response. A witness also recognized the man who ran as MMA fighter Jon Jones.

>UFC has not made any announcements regarding Jones or his scheduled title defense against Anthony Johnson for 5/23. I'm not sure if UFC has bylaws regarding championships and within its contract with Jones with what they can or can't do with a felony charge. The Nevada commission has already painted itself in the corner because of allowing Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight with a number of domestic violence charges as well as serving time and Mayweather even had sentencing on him delayed once so he could fight. Those are the privileges of being a big draw. This felony charge combined with the January drug test failure should lead to :

>Both UFC and Nevada drug testing him frequently from this point forward. Nevada has its rules and limitations regarding in and out of competition, but UFC should be more proactive with its testing and create rules where at least hard drugs are illegal for fighters in and out of competition. But until those rules are put in place, you can't implement them now. But this can serve as a lesson on how to write rules for the new policy and why out of competition drug failures for hard drugs should be taken seriously.

>If they are legally able, they should pull Jones from 5/23 to at least allow him to get help, and if he refuses, then suspend him. If he has to be suspended, he should be stripped of the title.

>Either way, the best course of action is to put Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson on 5/23 in a five-round fight that would either be an interim or regular title fight. Cormier isn't ready, and he's training for a fight two weeks later so there is a good shot he'll at least be close, Ryan Bader has volunteered to step in, although I don't think Bader is deserving of that spot right now. Either way, that leaves the 6/6 show without a main event.

>One witness to the accident told police that Jones got out of the car after the accident and ran to the hills, before turning around and coming back to grab a "large handful of cash." Then, according to witnesses, he ran off and jumped a fence and wasn't seen again.

As an educated expert on piss bets, I'm pretty sure all urine is warm until chilled (at which point, it becomes Bud Light).

Anyways, Jones has turned himself in. Still no word on how UFC will handle it. In my opinion, he should be stripped of the title and it should go to DC vs Rumble.

Well, UFC did the right thing. I'm shocked they actually suspended him, though. I figured they wouldn't and would then say, "Well, it's up to the commission to do that." If I were in the position, I would make sure Jones doesn't get a title shot for at least a year. Six months off for rehab or whatever, then he can fight Gustaffson, then he faces whoever loses between DC and Rumble, and then he can have a title shot (which would probably be sometime around August or September) if he wins them both in decisive fashion and manages to keep clean.

Probably the last we'll see of Jones, felony hit and run is an 18 month min sentence and unless you're Floyd Mayweather and allowed to pick your prison and only spend 2 months there you're not coming back out in fighting shape. He has $12 million consolation prize from only reported UFC payouts over the years and likely won't ever come back.

UFC also had a meeting with Jones and his lawyer first so I guess whatever was said there was the deciding factor in stripping his belt. Won't miss Jones he had zero personality and ppv buys were average at best for his bouts unless a flashy heel came along like Sonnen or Cormier.

I hear Reebok was absolutely furious, I'd be willing to bet they're the main factor behind stripping the title as opposed to doing an interim. Also, Cormier wasn't the heel, he was obviously the babyface. Hope he actually trains to last longer than one round this time.

I'm thinking Joe Silva either pulls either Gustafsson or Teixeira from their June fight to face Bader or they get some up & coming guy to take the fight. But with the latter that puts Bader in a position of nothing to gain and everything to lose, so I'm thinking they might just cancel the fight and have Bader fight the winner of Gustafsson-Teixeira to set up a #1 title contender match. I'd love to see either Manuwa or Rampage take the fight on short notice to face Bader, though. That's a really quick turnaround for either guy, but I think Manuwa might be down for it while Rampage's age likely won't allow him to.

Back when he pissed hot for Coke and they acted like they were super worried about him and wanted to help him turn his life around and all that bullshit and he said he was going to rehab, he was there for one night. He went for that one night just so he and the UFC could say he "went to rehab" and that's it. He's a perfect example of how some people will not learn from their mistakes.

Turns out the substance "Jones couldn't even pronounce" and "never heard of" was well known Estrogen blockers.

These are used to help kickstart testosterone production after coming off a cycle of juice. Now you know why he didn't want to tell anybody what it was at the press conference because immediately they would call him out as everybody knows that's juice cycle recovery shit.

I don't think there will ever be a post juice Jones he'll cheat again.

er, they're also used to prevent growing tits while juicing as your body also converts a portion of T into estriadol, and since you're heavily juicing with so much T you're also producing a lot of estriadol which has obvious unwanted side effects when you pull off your shirt at weigh in and tits flop out.

They're only found in breast cancer meds and nothing remotely resembling a "supplement" so will be interesting to see him talk/cry out of this one at the hearing. If Jones didn't fuck up so much he could be promoting his own PPV by now like Floyd did, he's such a good fighter with longevity in the sport could be selling Jon Jones cards instead of being suspended all the time. nb
