Mickey (Kaitlin Olson) is a brash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who has spent her entire life shirking any semblance of responsibility. Lacking any drive, but in constant search of the next easy payday, Mickey is not without her charms. She’s smart, she’s fun, and despite all appearances, her head’s always in the game. She just needs a big win. That win kinda, sorta comes true when, looking for a handout, Mickey visits her estranged sister and billionaire brother-in-law in Greenwich, CT, but gets more than she bargained for, as this absurdly rich couple flees the country to escape federal fraud charges.

In a surprising turn of events, Mickey must assume guardianship of their three high-maintenance and ill-parented children: Sabrina (Sofia Black D’Elia), an ambitious, 18-going-on-30-year-old who is a worthy adversary to Mickey; Chip (Thomas Barbusca), 13, an arrogant, entitled neo-con-in-the-making with an extremely punchable face; and Ben (newcomer Jack Stanton), seven, an adorably fragile nerd. The life that Mickey has wanted for so long now is within her reach – the mansion, the convertible, the swimming pool, the walk-in closet full of designer clothes. But as Mickey is well aware, nothing in life is free. The price? Transforming these outrageously spoiled children into honest, hard-working, decent members of society – something this foul-mouthed, debaucherous and completely out-of-her-element woman knows absolutely nothing about.

The series premieres January 1 at 8pm EST with new episodes subsequently airing on Tuesdays at 8:30pm EST.

Enjoyed this week's episode for Mickey raising hell about Ben dressing like a girl and trying to sabotage the girls' school kicking down doors and getting Jimmy to look like a sexual predator again. At least Ben was feeling comfortable in his own skin (and dress). I also though Sabrina and Chip being friendly with Alba to prove to Mickey they're diverse was funny just for Alba not knowing anything about her own culture and Sabrina dropping the N-bomb on stage, in the end her and Chip still didn't know Alba's last name. The cast is coming together well. Maybe this show will finally get Kaitlin Olson the Emmy nomination that she deserves.

And it's already been renewed for a 2nd season no surprise here - https://www.google.com/amp/deadline.com/2017/02/comedy-the-mick-renewed-season-2-fox-kaitlin-olson-1201925383/amp/

That one scene was amazing. Rather than feel like Workaholics season 4 gross-out stuff, it was more like a scene from a horror movie. Actually, it was scarier and more suspenseful than any horror I've seen lately. I was on the edge of my seat with my eyes bugging out of my skull, literally thinking "Look away! Wait, don't, I need to see what happens next."

I just wanted to restock my physical movie-library recently
and since I feel no need for Blu-Rays, I thought maybe I can get cheaper DVD's.

Looking on ebay and amazon
and getting flabbergasted!

10- 20 $ for decade old Films on DVD?!

What moron keeps the prices up for cheap DVD-plastic-crap thats only 0,50 $ per piece in production?!

Movie prizes are plain insane
and producers wonder why people are pirating movies.

Even used movies are getting sold for totally unreasonable prices!
Why would I want to buy a used DVD for the same amount of cash as a new one (that comes guaranteed without the smell of cold smokes or urine?) ?!

Geez man that scene where those Inners got spaced was crazy. Spacing is like a futuristic version of the Nazi gas chambers during the Holocaust. I thought that the whole attempted Black Sky takeover of Tycho wasn't going to last but at least Drummer is still alive thankfully. I thought it was funny when she just straight up shot those Belters in the head as she was walking and got her satisfaction. I am looking forward to the Rocinate going to Ganymede to investigate and trying to find where Dr. Strickland took Prax's daughter and next week's episode showing Bobbie's testimony about Ganymede.

S1 is B-grade, guilty-pleasure tier sci-fi up until about the last two or three episodes. Even during this weaker era it still has wonderful worldbuilding even if the characters are a bit blase.
Once it get to the season finale it gets legitimately enjoyable though, and S2 has been an amazing fucking thrillride, and the characters actually start to be "give a shit about" tier. This is probably my favorite show airing currently

They're funny as fuck. I loved them. I'm about to go check youtube to see what all the fuss was about. I guess he stirred up some controversy. One thing I noticed, was he...well I can't remember exactly what it was, but he said something that made me cock an eyebrow and wonder..."Is Dave Chappelle a Muslim?"...because I mean he went to Africa, and all that...and he kind of hates whitey...so...anyway I kept watching and later on he mentions his sister is Muslim, and I was like mind-blown. I don't get how such a smart guy can get reeled into such a fucked up cult.[/5]

SIX WEEKS! How is there no thread for this?
If you want to talk about Old Man Logan, PLEASE make it clear that your spoilers are for the comics.

Final trailer (of only 2, which is perfect IMO) dropped - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH3OxVFvTeg
Much more focused on Laura / X-23 than the 'Hurt' trailer, some new action sequences, but still not showing too much for me. Most of what we see between the first two trailers seems to come from the scene of the Reavers tracking them down to the dilapidated building to get Laura, so I'm good with that. And if you're wondering what's with the scene about a minute into the trailer, yes, she does walk out with the dude's severed head in her hands, even though the trailer just shows her dropping the handcuffs.

Speculation:
After seeing how Laura behaves in this new trailer, I'd bet a stack of cash that a focus of the movie is Logan coming to terms with the blind rage that's been driving him for so long, and trying to save her from going down the same path he took. And I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to cry like a bitch at the 'family around the dinner table' scene, and Xavier's likely demise.

It's actually being premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, so whoever makes these decisions must think it's going to be something much more than any superhero movie we've seen before, and according to those who've seen the first act, it's even better than anyone is expecting.

I think it deserves its own thread instead of being forced to mingle with the rest of the Superhero jank in the general thread, but if not, you know what to do, Chiggy.

I also liked it because it gave an excuse to pay homage to the comics and have Laura and "Logan" fight and I understand what you're saying but for me neither is a good enough excuse to have him as the main threat. Maybe some surprise scene would have been cool but as far as a main threat, Lady Death Strike would have worked (dead in "X-2" I know) and Daken would have been perfect (fucked that up in "The Wolverine", I know). I did like how the movie played with the idea of continuity but I guess they weren't willing to go as far to have characters who died or were never born to show up in this movie.

>>380864
... and segway! Like I said, I like how this movie just sort of said "fuck it" to the franchises cannon. This movie seemed like it's own thing, I REALLY liked the end scene. It feels like the end, not to be continued or END?!? If something like this happens I actually hope it's kept vague or and not given endless exposition on how it actually makes sense. The timeline is so fucked at this point, best to go the "Looper" route and just not ask questions.

With that said I would prefer the Xmen main stay creators stay the hell away from her. They have an almost impressive track record for fucking up female characters. People are going to want her in X-Force but personally, I think that would be a tonal mess. Deadpool is apparently going to lead the movie and Logan is dead. He's a big part of her character development around that time and there really is no fill in for him.

Based on the Marvel Comics series by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz and from creator Noah Hawley (Fargo), Legion is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens) – a troubled young man who may be more than human.

Diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 30s and institutionalized once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of life in the hospital: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David spends the rest of his time in companionable silence alongside his chatterbox friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), a fellow patient whose life-long drug and alcohol addiction has done nothing to quell her boundless optimism that her luck is about to change. The pleasant numbness of David’s routine is completely upended with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which he must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees are the result of him being a mutant.

Episodes air Wednesdays at 10pm EST on FX

I think it was to let people know this wouldn;t be a shot-for shot remake of the old IT movie. We thought we knew what to expect and that let us know not to get too comfortable. They also showed some scenes that were in the book and the original film never showed. Looks like they are cutting the adults out, or way down, to have all the kids scenes from the book. Which begs the question, will it include BOOK the part where all the boys run train on the girl in the sewer?

Oh btw I meant The Loud House

Also I guess it wasn't a print comic before a cartoon, I read wrong. Chris Savino styled it based off newspaper funnies not that it was one! Still, check out The Loud House, guys!

the art style really throws people off too from what I've noticed. I didn't expect it to be as decent as it was after seeing the trailers.

Bravest Warriors season 3 is already out (check out S03E01 on Youtube now!), but you have to get some lame app to watch it past the first episode. They're doing that business to make more money so they can recoup their costs and produce more episodes than they would otherwise be able to make. Luckily, torrents exist and you can find the other episodes there if you don't want to get the app.

I loved reading the books growing up but I'm not sure about how they'll adapt Captain Underpants, which obviously isn't going to be a straight adaptation of the first book, but the animation looks really well done like Peanuts was - https://youtu.be/VDm_2m-Hg6c

Also John Cena is voicing Ferdinand. I guess I can't see him then - https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=DY462I2E3IY

Movies whose soundtracks impacted you and integrated into your life by Harry Enfield - Sat, 25 Mar 2017 17:31:35 EST ID:HO+GjJVy No.380742 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

Some of these are downright fucking embarrassing. Whow ants to admit that they learned about a band or genre from a movie, rather than a cool friend or through crate digging records and CDs yourself? Still, with T2 out it got me thinking about the movie soundtracks that I ended up listening to a lot, intrudced me to bands that I then got into, and really call me back to the time of my life when i listened to them.

>Trainspotting
saw it in early 2000s when in H.S. Velvet underground and lou reed stuff was interesting to someone as young as me, this was like kazaa or napster file sharing era. Biggest influence was New Order, I became an obsessed fan for many years of thier music. I recently heard 'Born Slippy' by Underworld and it sent me into a crazy trance of nostalgia. Also the cover of Atomic by blondie got me into blondie in a huge way for a while

>Donnie Darko
got me into Tears for Fears in a big way. Also Echo and the Bunnymen, and further into that time period/genre. It also got me obsesseed with the awesome high energy 80s neo-dandy attitude from Duran Duran. This movie was way too real around the time in my life i first saw it

>Garden State
guilty pleasure. Not proud of this but I will cop to it. I knew of Nick Drake before this I think but this may have spurred me into him more.

>The Beach (2000 with DiCaprio)
Saw this a few years ago and the music made me so nostalgic for the late 90s and early 2000s it made me fucking melt. I got into a huge mid-late 90s kick for a short stint due to this.

Trainspotting for me too OP. I'm going to see T2 tomorrow and my co-worker and I are stoked to hear the soundtrack.

>Labyrinth
One of my all time favorites and my earliest childhood memory. I probably would've still ended up a Bowie addict without this movie as a staple in my life, but it definitely helped.

>Velvet Goldmine
Turned me into Brian Eno, Iggy Pop and just glam rock in general.

>Cowboy Bebop
My nerd friend and I listened to the soudtracks so much in high school, and I think it accounts for my eclectic music tastes.

>Spirited Away
I've either listened to the soundtrack or watched the movie every time I do acid. My first heavy trip, my friend and I sat in a park listening to it and we basically saw the film play out in the sky. Also I used to fall asleep, and still do sometimes, to it every night. "The Sixth Station" usually makes me cry every time I hear it and I listen to "Procession of the Spirits" every time I cross a bridge. Oh, and there was one time my friends and I did molly and went on a hike listening to the soundtrack. It ended exactly when we got to this bluff my friend was secretly leading us to, and it was perfect.

Everything John Carpenter has done. Synth god. Pretty much changed my view of how a movie's soundtrack fit in.

Escape from New York's theme is amazing.

Love Total Recall's theme, although I wouldn't say it has had a major impact on my music taste though.

well i may be wrong..but i seem to faintly remember that whole "wild west" style episode, with that guy with the silly things on his hands that change according to suites of cards

wasnt there a woman in that, with massive red hair i think. who did the old "sorta semi betrayed you, but then actually liked you so decided to un-betray you" thing

That is one of my favorite episodes, they have the classic/cliche train-top battle. I don't remember it perfectly clearly either but I think she only coquettishly betrays him. Like fucks her partner over, kind of saving him, but then making her getaway so as to fuck with him in the future, type deal. Idk

"Leave now and live, or stay and face your destiny"... Fucking chills! I really like how their handling Jacks morality. Once again, their nailing these darker Samurai themes

Anyone notice the call back to "Jack VS The Ninja"? I'll lose it if we see him "Jump Good" at some point.

jack's been jumping good a couple times already.

2 of the 3 daughters that fell were conscious, 1 was knocked unconscious when they fell so probably only 2 survived.
