From renowned creative geniuses Lana Wachowski, Grant Hill and J. Michael Straczynski, Sense8 is centered around eight characters, from different parts of the world, who experience a violent vision, and soon find themselves mentally connected by the experience. They become connected, able to see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, with access to each other's deepest secrets. Not only must the eight adapt to this new ability and to each other, they must figure out why their lives are now in jeopardy. In Season 2, dark forces continue to track the cluster of eight connected characters. The sensates will learn more about BPO, the secret organization searching for their cluster and others like them, and will work to protect themselves from this organization that is out to hunt and kill them.

The season premieres May 5 on Netflix

Yeah plus a transgender character. It's a diverse cast but the character relationships and storylines are one of the show's biggest strengths.

I started watching the show but quit for non queer related reasons, the show seemed like it was going to be an expansive mess, and I can only watch so many of those at once.

But the show is a notch more than what the manufactured-outrage you normally see. It really has that queer cinema vibe or logo tv vibe, in that the sex and sexuality are really central. That should be chill, lord knows, I've had to sit through tons of hetero sex scenes... But on the other hand, I'm not surprised that people who've never even meet an openly gay person are watching it thinking it's going to be some generic xmen ripoff, and then get mad when they see a sloppy dildo.

Back when I still watched during the initial quality decline when I kept hoping it would get good again, I would notice that Adam West scenes would often be the only laughs of certain boring episodes. One silly Adam West moment is better than 100 Meg jokes.

They haven't decided what they'll do with the character as well as Carrie Fisher's character but I assume they'll retire them as The Simpsons did with Phil Hartman and Marcia Wallace's characters.

That sucks. Moore wasn't the best Bond and his films were pretty camp (especially Moonraker) but he sure made his version pretty memorable. Funny enough I went to a CHIKARA wrestling show about 3 1/2 years ago that was named Moonraker.

Moore was absolutely the best bond if your Bond is camp bond. Honestly View To A Kill is my favorite bond movie. Everyone in it is beyond camp except for Grace Jones, who is still the most intimidating woman in a bond movie. But Grace Jones was asked to design her own wardrobe for the movie. So in that regard she's as camp as the rest.

Connery holds up pretty well too in that regard. Connery is just the best all-rounder. And most importantly he was there for the formation of what we think of as the quintessential Bond which is probably a bigger contributor to it than Connery himself.

Anyway the file size limit is still too small on this board for me to easily post the View to a Kill theme song but it's fucking great.

I finally finished binge-watching the new season and I'm a little surprised, though not that surprised, that there's been so little discussion on it. I really do think the current political climate is stealing the spotlight from any and all politically-themed shows, even ones as batshit as HoC.

This show just keeps getting increasingly ridiculous and at first I was really annoyed. The first season was great and pretty in grounded in reality, but every subsequent season has ratcheted up the absurdity that now I just watch it as a guilty pleasure political soap opera and for Kevin Spacey's insane mustache-twirling Machiavellian scenery-chewing performance, which wrings a lot of laughs and head shaking from me.

I couldn't connect with this crap and the only bits I've seen were from season 5. I really don't like how it makes lite of reality or the big middle finger to our country that it is. It just comes off as tryhard college kids writing some Alex Jones level drivel. I'm not saying it doesn't have a point because shit is kinda crazy in real life but this show just takes it too far. I don't think any show could cover the topic and do it properly to be honest though. Also, all the actors are annoying smug fucks who think their shit doesn't stink so I don't like it for that reason either.

But maybe that is just me.

And if your in for that, the show couldn't be better, but that's really not what I was hoping for. When he shoved that bitch in front of a train was the first sign of going in that direction.

Random thoughts on the series:
-I loved the character arc his wife has, she's a much better psychopath wife than Skyler White could ever hope to be. RWP also has more range.
-Doug Stamper is a cool dude. I felt for him.
-I dropped this after the third season. After becoming president, what is the point? Seeing his downfall? Meh.
-Best episodes are those with the russian president and when the buddhist monks invade the white house.
-Why did hekiss that one dude? Probably just queerbait.

Before anyone says Godfather...

I never watched the movie but always heard about how good it was.
Until HBO came out with this Godfather special called "The Godfather Epic".

http://ew.com/article/2016/01/20/godfather-epic-streaming-hbo-go-now/

>"The Godfather Epic — a recut combination of The Godfather and The Godfather Part II that puts the two films’ scenes into chronological order with additional material"

>"Cut with additional scenes not included in the theatrical releases, the Epic takes the prequel scenes of Vito Corleone’s early life from Part II and places them at the start, tracing Vito’s growth (and change from Robert De Niro to Marlon Brando) and flowing into Michael Corleone’s rise in the family."

It was 7 hours of pure heaven.

You should watch Gozu.
Earlier in the thread I recommended it even though I didn't know what it was that you were looking for. It turns out that what you were looking for was directed by the same guy.
I found out about gozu because in middle school I was up all night cuddling with this one chick and we were flipping channels and somehow came across this. Thankfully we were both quite morbidly curious and sat through the whole thing somehow. I don't think it's as bad as that Masters of Horror episode, but it's similar. Nightmare dream-like and gratuitous violence/gore/general psychological horror type stuff.

Gozu is a great movie, but not really horror like OP is talking a out. I do have a LOT of time for it though. Is it not supposed to be the same story as some Greek legend? Also the thought of "stumbling across" this on tv blows my mind.

Yeah to say that stumbling upon that the way I did was strange is an understatement. It was so weird that I remember it very clearly. the second and third movies are good too, and have equally good soundtracks (if you like 80s industrial anyways. 1 and 2 are like skinny puppy, 3 is like einstürzende neubauten). the third movie's special effects sometimes seem more like a really high budget episode of power rangers but it's entirely worth watching anyways. I really like how there's a color progression. the first movie is greyscale, the second has color but focuses on blues and greys, and the third is muted full color.

Before the Inuit were blessed with the benefits of western civilization (i.e. abusive schools, forced settlement and alcoholism) they had an interesting way of taking care of "retirement". Once a person became old and figured that they would no longer be useful they would just get up one night and, without saying a word, leave.

I think Nolan is pretty overrated, and I think those movies are the result of him being told he'd get to make a big budget crime drama as long as he squeezed batman in.

I think they're a bad representation of the batman character, but the first two are good films and the last one is total trash.

I should have added, I view any superhero film as basically being a total reset from the comic book. Looking at you Lucifer...Proving my fucking point! Anywho, the point being that what sells in an illustrated story a dozen installments long, doesn't even fly in a 90 minute feature. The mediums demand different things. An illustration can be savored. Movies tend to demand something happen every so many seconds, or people get weirded out. This is how Michael Bay can sell utter shit and make millions. He leans into what film does well, (BIG SHOUTY EXPLOSIONS!) and shies away from the shit that is harder for film (Nuanced plot...a contemplative pacing...plot....any actor better than Mark Wahlberg....etc etc...) You get the point. Comparing Nolan's Joker to any print Joker is a bit unfair. They are too different to expect direct translation.

I like 'em. Begins is my personal favorite, mainly for what it did for Batman and capeshit in general. I recognize The Dark Knight as the most well made, and honestly it's probably as close to perfection as any Batman movie is going to get. Great movies.

I don't like The Dark Knight Rises though. I think its tone feels inconsistent and visually it just isn't anywhere near as interesting as the two films that came before it. It lacks identity, and not just because it has a subpar villain. Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow in Begins weren't incredibly represented villains either but they worked because the rest of the movie was good enough to keep them afloat. The Dark Knight Rises does some outright goofy shit though that makes it tough to stay invested. I don't think it's a terrible movie but it's absolutely full of frustrating shit and I think it's the worst of the trilogy by a long shot. I have friends that still claim it to be the best of the three and I only have to wonder if we watched the same movie or not.

I didn't liked them. Stupid flicks. The Avengers and this trilogy taught me that I shouldn't trust anyone when it comes to movies. I'm at least grateful for that.

Fantastic first movie, great sequel, horribly disappointing Spider-man 3-esque second sequel that just barely manages to hit the mark by the end. Would have loved to see what he could have done with Superman but Warner Bros. couldn't get a godfather deal done and instead we got shitty Zack Snyder Superman instead.
