you should read the book paprika was based on, paprika by yasutaka Tsutsui. The concept is fascinating and the movie really doesn't do it justice. The book is, surprisingly, way more psychedelic.

I don't know where exactly to post this but here it goes. I wrote a script for a short animated film (6-7 minutes) and I don't know what the hell to do with it. No hate, I'm not just some wannabe, I know I can write, just don't know what to do with my work. Do you have any advice, ideas or personal stories about something like this to share? Anything is welcome. I don't know if there's any point to this quest or if my script is useless and I should just write it to a backup dvd and forget about it.

That's why I re-watched Breaking Bad.

It was pretty interesting to see Saul again, and the events leading up to his escape.

Saul only ever got what he asked for. He didn't directly do a whole lot of terrible things, but he encouraged Walt to keep going even though he knew he was unhinged and dangerous as hell, just so he could launder more money.
He must have gone through some serious shit between Breaking Bad, and BCS where we're at now for him to get to that point. Because he was not just a nihilist trickster, he was very actively criminal to an extreme extent. Not small time shit like "Slippin Jimmy."

Should be interesting how this transformation from Jimmy to Saul really affects who he becomes in Breaking Bad. Chuck being burned will definitely change him for the worse and drive Kim away most likely.

I just saw that Patton Oswalt is already engaged to be married, with his wife's corpse barely even cold. This leaves me really questioning his sincerity in acting like her death actually mattered to him and not just something he used to drum up publicity. I always knew he was a soulless little troll. Anyone else hate this guy?

Movies whose soundtracks impacted you and integrated into your life by Harry Enfield - Sat, 25 Mar 2017 17:31:35 EST ID:HO+GjJVy No.380742 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

Some of these are downright fucking embarrassing. Whow ants to admit that they learned about a band or genre from a movie, rather than a cool friend or through crate digging records and CDs yourself? Still, with T2 out it got me thinking about the movie soundtracks that I ended up listening to a lot, intrudced me to bands that I then got into, and really call me back to the time of my life when i listened to them.

>Trainspotting
saw it in early 2000s when in H.S. Velvet underground and lou reed stuff was interesting to someone as young as me, this was like kazaa or napster file sharing era. Biggest influence was New Order, I became an obsessed fan for many years of thier music. I recently heard 'Born Slippy' by Underworld and it sent me into a crazy trance of nostalgia. Also the cover of Atomic by blondie got me into blondie in a huge way for a while

>Donnie Darko
got me into Tears for Fears in a big way. Also Echo and the Bunnymen, and further into that time period/genre. It also got me obsesseed with the awesome high energy 80s neo-dandy attitude from Duran Duran. This movie was way too real around the time in my life i first saw it

>Garden State
guilty pleasure. Not proud of this but I will cop to it. I knew of Nick Drake before this I think but this may have spurred me into him more.

>The Beach (2000 with DiCaprio)
Saw this a few years ago and the music made me so nostalgic for the late 90s and early 2000s it made me fucking melt. I got into a huge mid-late 90s kick for a short stint due to this.

Darko had a great OST, close to, if not perfect film.

I'd say mostly impacted? In terms of finding new bands, would have to be the Kurdt Kobain docu; "About a Son" & "American Hardcore"
>Arlo Guthrie
>MDC
>Bad Brains
>Big Black
>Scratch Acid
>Black Flag
etc...

Had me wade through HC punk for a while.

In terms of emotional exp from a film scene and mind expansion I'd say DDarko is up there, also the charge of the Rohirrim in 3rd LotR. Also;

Donnie Darko had a great 80's soundtrack. Garden State introduced me to The Shins like a million other people. The Big Lebowski wholesale introduced me to CCR after only knowing of them from commercials and the California Raisins as a kid. Drive introduced me to Kavinsky who introduced me to Peturbator and Lazerhawk.Bio-Dome introduced me to Wax, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Fourth Grade Nothing.Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure introduced me to Extreme. Rushmore got me into The Creation and Faces.

Sharp and irreverent, Silicon Valley continues to lambast the self-important world of tech in a season that finds the Pied Piper team looking to leave their mark, even as they continue to fumble along the road to success.

Change is in the air as the Pied Piper guys pursue their video-chat app, PiperChat, but Richard has a hard time letting go of his dream to put his algorithm to better use. Dinesh flirts with notoriety, while Gilfoyle looks on in amusement. Erlich searches for his next big break. Jared attempts to pivot with the company. And Big Head enters the world of academia. Meanwhile, over at Hooli, Gavin finds himself threatened by Jack Barker, while Monica struggles to bounce back at Raviga after her fallout with Laurie.

The season premieres tonight at 10pm EDT on HBO

Yeah. It's very difficult for someone to come off as both arrogant and humble at the same time, but that's the best description for how reading this made me feel

Like what's all this shit about Tom Middleditch? He keeps talking about how they've been working together for years and how he admires him but he also seems to be hinting at some behind the scene shit talk and making it sound like Middleditch wanted him gone?

I guess almost dying from brain surgery really does leave you with the balls to just call it as you see it

I don't really know anything about Kumail, but interviews I've seen with Middleditch corroborate this. He's very smart, but kinda hate-fueled. He seems easy enough to talk to, but unlike TJ he doesn't seem like he's very fun. And both of them talk like they clearly don't give a shit what you think. Which I guess is almost admirable? But yeah he's very coarse. It's sorta jarring since obviously I only know him as meek Richard.

Funny enough, the American version changes the ending to do just that.

I thought of a couple more:

>A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

>Jacob's Ladder

>The Orphanage

>Mama

>Bram Stoker's Dracula

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night and Dracula especially. They both have such cool atmosphere. The former's black and white, Tarantino-esque film with a killer soundtrack. Dracula's just great with how they play with the visuals, really playing up the hypnotic drug-like attributes of vampire mythology.
