On this season of Halt and Catch Fire, after Mutiny leaves Texas for the big leagues of Silicon Valley, Cameron and Donna search for the idea that will launch Mutiny as a player but new collaborators test their partnership. Gordon struggles to find a place within his wife’s company as Joe builds upon his empire, reinventing himself with a bold play that shocks the Valley and sends him back into the lives of his former partners.

The season premieres on August 23 with a 2 hour premiere at 9pm EDT with subsequent episodes airing at 10pm EDT on AMC.

cameron is totally right but acts like a whiny little turd which pisses everyone off so they dont pay attention
in the end donna is going to lose control of the company
the sleezebags they hopped in bed with have been planning it since day one
gaining control of the company one little step at a time

and everybody else is just cool with it because hey theres a short term promise of money!

and my guess is cameron is going to end up forming some sort of group whose sole purpose is trying to destroy the monstrosity she helped create

Cameron doesn't really have any self-control and know how to work well with others. I'm not gonna be surprised if she ends up not going to Tokyo with Tom and breaking up with him. She already did that once before and she could do it again.

My guess is that Mutiny gets devalued a lot by that IPO and ends up with Mutiny getting bought out and/or Donna being ousted by the rest of the board. Basically both of them being gone from their own company they helped to build. I think Diane is gonna sell her out. And I think that with Joe and Gordon back together trying to rebuild, I could see Cameron and Donna hopping on board though but given the trust issues between Joe and Donna, I dunno how they'd try to out their differences aside.

2 hour finale next week should be good. I really hope it at least gets renewed for one more season.

I thought this season really finished strong and surprisingly with the jump in time to 1990 but getting into the start of the world wide web and internet is a good starting point for what we should see next season. I really enjoyed Cameron and Joe reunited again and seeing how time has for the most part, healed all the wounds between them. Although them sleeping with each other I don't think will bode well for Cameron's marriage to Tom, who already had animosity towards Joe to begin with. That was a low blow when Tom brought up McMillan Utility and Ryan's death. I was just rolling my eyes when Tom was expressing his views about open source being bad and supporting FTP over HTTP but at that time, I don't blame him especially working in video games and knowing about the quality control standards of Nintendo and Sony.

I can't say I was surprised to see that Gordon and Donna got divorced but it was for the best although seeing Joanie act out towards Gordon and ruin his dinner date was awkward though them bonding and watching Saved by the Bell together was cute. Donna being part of a VC suits her considering how much she interacted with Diane and that rubbed off onto her. I also think that the conflict between Donna and Cameron had been written really well too. But I'm glad to see Bos is happily retired but I think after seeing Cameron and playing her game, he'd be itching to come out of retirement.

What stood out to me the most in this finale was the chemistry between Joe, Donna, Gordon and Cameron really being showcased with their conversations about the web. Like Mr. Robot, this show does a tremendous job highlighting the technical accuracy of computers and technology being portrayed.

I wasn't sure how much the better Halt and Catch Fire would become especially after how much of a turnaround we saw last season but I think this season solidified for me how great of a this show is especially for a period drama. I think moving away from trying to be like an 80s version Mad Men with Joe being a second rate Don Draper in season 1 was the right move to make.

Great finale but I feel the writers have made the characters into shitty people just so they can excuse their lazy writing. The Cameron/Donna beef is retarded and both of them act idiotic, IRL this finale they all should have just become trillionaires instead of fighting like babies.

Happy Gilmore. "Tap it in." The lines are sucky cheesey but still. "JUst tap it in all you gotta do is tap it in." "All you gotta do is tap it in. Just taaaap it in. Tap tap taap taaparoo.... ALLLRIGHT YEAHHHH!"

Its weird. Every line sucks. But somehow it all comes together... how? nobody really knows. even I dkwtf.

Side Question: Any good golf comedies? Can't think of aaNY right now. All thats coming to mind is Happy Gilmore Caddyshak maybe Tin Cup or some gay shit idk. Kevin Costner is almost as weird+Overpaid as Adam Sandler the only difference is he masks it a hell of a lot better.

It was the end of Sandler and the beginning of his transformation into a sellout.

No one can take Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore away from him though. Those movies are fantastic comedies.

Sandler hasnt changed since Gilmore or Madison and like it or not, people still find his movies hilarious. I went and seen pixels at the cinema (yeah i know, i had a good excuse) and people were laughing. i seen Grown ups in the cinema (yeah i know, i dont have a good excuse though, it was intentional) and people were in hysterics throughout the film, there were points where you couldn't hear the movie because people couldn't stop laughing.

So its not that his movies are bad, its just that you're holding him up to when his style was new and refreshing to you and expect his movies to be something more than they are, i find they appeal more to teenagers and people with families.

Little Nicky for me was one of the highlights of my teenage years, i couldnt stop laughing at that movie, i laughed more at little nicky than billy maddison or happy gilmore.

I don't know if it's shit or not, my nostalgia goggles can't come off for this one. It's when me and my little sister were getting into music and thinking Satanic imagery was badass.

I dig Click, dig Billy Madison and dig Happy Madison. I never saw the two dramatic ones, Punch drunk love and Rain on me? The 911 one? I remember hearing really good things about that movie when it came out maybe it was mostly due to "OMG ADAM SANDLAR DRAMATIC!!?!". Heard mixed things about Punch drunk love.

In Julien Donkey-Boy, the titular character is an untreated schizophrenic with an oversensitive, abusive father. That is actually a schizophrenic in treatment, the medication really wigs us out once we're on it, and that father is usually the enforcer to give it to us.

An untreated schizophrenic usually self-medicates and hooks up with criminals, until their anxiety issues are worked out and they become a professional crook. That's what my uncle did.

The psychiatric industry doesn't want you to know that a psychotic break is medication or social stress and anxiety turning someone that is turning antisocial (for instance, going to business or law school and applying the princples you learn) into a delusional mental patient.

Shrinks don't like personality disorders, business and law do. I was studying to be an economist, some low grade cholos and a Juggalo hazed me at work because I was working without making small talk unless I was on break. Boom, psychotic break when first given anti-depressants.

Harmony Korine is a Scientology shill.

Two directors with big reputations passed away this past weekend. Abbas Kiarostami, whom is considered by critics and even other directors like Akira Kurosawa and Jean-Luc Godard to be one the greatest directors of our generation and whom spearheaded the Iranian New Wave movement.

The other is Michael Cimino, whom wrote and directed The Deer Hunter but is overshadowed due to his eccentric Kubrick-like personality and for Heaven's Gate ruining his career and changing how studios made films going forward after that.

Out of curiosity, what Bergman movies did they show? If it's Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries then fuck them. Not that those are bad movies, but that's what I'd expect a cable channel to play. Show me Summer with Monika, Passion of Anna, Hour of the Wofl, hell even The Serpent's Egg. If they played any of those I'd be impressed.

Warriors is to be made into an hour long drama series directed by the Russo Bros.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm surprised The Warriors name has enough cache in 2016 to warrant this. Yeah, it's a cult classic, but even that legitimately great videogame didn't really sell too well.

We'll see if they can capture what fans love about the film (the colorful themed gangs, the gritty setting, the frantic pace) into the show. The film was about one tense night, not the specific gang members of the Warriors. That makes for a great film, but not a great series. Plus, I'm not sure if "gang warfare" is in the psyche of people as much as it was pre-2000, but if they get the style of the show right, that probably won't matter.

Of all the movies you could make into a series, The Warriors is a decent pick. The movie feels like it could easily have had multiple sequels but it never got one.

In terms of quality, it could go either way. I love the movie and no TV show will take that away from me. Plus, if it does well enough, maybe they'll re-release the game! Please Jebus!

Can someone get this guy some scripts with some actual plots and dialogue? I watched half of Neon Demon before I walked out of the theater. The movie is hot garbage, basically Black Swan without any character depth. I don't know what I expected, because his last few films were also style over substance. Really, he should be directing synthwave music videos because that's what he seems to want to do anyway. Drive was his last film worth watching, and honestly half of that movie was just people staring at each other silently for long periods of time. It's too bad, because his movies look great and he's shown that he can make a good movie if he's got an interesting story, but that hasn't happened since Bronson and *maybe* Drive if I'm being charitable. His next film is going to be 2 hours of Ryan Gosling standing still in a cool looking room.

Just watched it.

Started off shit but got better as it went along. The plotlines of the two little kids (fresh prince jr and president whitmores daughter) from the first movie being total badasses now is dumb. A lot of callbacks to the first movie just felt really hamfisted. Speaking of hamfisted, the comic relief Floyd character was terrible.

And then there is badass space cowboy, heartthrob mcgee himself, liam hemsworth. Out in space doing bad ass space stuff, because why not. Alien invasion was only 20 years ago but it's cool let's let this kid operate a fucking half trillion dollar space ship. I can literally hear studio execs sitting around a room discussing this character, the names 'Han Solo' and 'Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy' were probably brought up at least 20 times.

I hate that fucking long hair doctor from the first one, and I hate that he was such a main role in this one.

That all being said, take out all the dumb callbacks to the first movie and this wasn't terrible at all.

I immediately thought of >>367093 when the old jewish guy was like 'SWEET MOSES!'

Independence day is basically scifi-action kitsch. It takes itself so god damn serious that you will watch it's parody (mars attacks) several times over before re-watching it.

I'm jazzed to learn more about the sphere race and their technology. I also look forward to learning more about the intergalactic interactions, different races and a larger story.

I refuse to believe that the Patrice O'Neal O&A segment about the first movie didn't influence some of the writing in this movie. For fuck's sake, Heebie Kikeberger himself leads a group through the goddamned desert in this just like they joked about in that O&A segment.

Epix put up the first two episodes of its first original drama and comedy serieses on its website/app and Youtube before they premiere on October 16. Here's the links for the episodes and synopses for each if you want to check them out:

>Berlin Station:

Berlin Station is a contemporary spy series that follows Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage), an undercover agent who has just arrived at the CIA station in Berlin, Germany. Miller has a clandestine mission: to determine the identity of a now-famous whistleblower masquerading as "Thomas Shaw." Guided by jaded veteran Hector DeJean (Rhys Ifans) Daniel learns to contend with the rough-and-tumble world of the field officer - agent-running, deception, danger and moral compromises. As he dives deeper into the German capital's hall of mirrors and uncovers the threads of a conspiracy that leads back to Washington, Daniel wonders: Can anyone ever be the same after a posting to Berlin?

President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte), a former two-term POTUS, embarks on a Don Quixote-like quest to right the wrongs of his administration and reclaim his legacy 25 years after leaving the White House. With topics ranging from immigration to gay rights, to foreign policy to public funding for arts and sciences, Graves holds nothing sacred as he unspools some of his administration's proudest victories. His enlightenment takes place just as his wife Margaret Graves (Sela Ward) decides it's finally time for her to pursue her own political ambitions.

Berlin Station seems slow paced but it has potential. Graves seems like it will be shit, but episode 1 was entertaining and worth keeping up with for now.
