That episode was great.

Also grandmas are regular people, with the same wide variety of tastes and preferences as anyone else, so it's kind of hard to recommend anything without knowing more about her. Instead of patronizing her with stereotypical "grannycore" shit that you assume old people watch, just ask her what she likes.

Mine loves Adult Swim. She highly recommends Assy McGee. She could be into ATHF or Mr. Pickles just as much as Downton Abbey or Antiques Roadshow for all we know.

You know what I always wanted the big twist of Supernatural to be? That all the demons are actually full of shit. I hate the "budget demon" and Angels. How they just switch hosts on the fly, it would be neat to find out they are just fucking with naive humans who actually believe them. It would be neat if there Lucifer, Lilith and all those guys died centuries ago and new kids were just taking the torch. Saying I'm Satan is a lot scarier than saying I'm Bob.

I much preferred the monster of the week days. Remember the Wendigo?! It was actually a dude in a monster suit. There weren't that many monster's mostly ghosts but I still preferred those days and wish the show never went the "destiny/ chosen one/ prophecy" direction.

>Really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Maybe, but at least it makes more sense than crossing over with the WWE and trying to solve the mystery of the demon car that is ruining Vince's branching out of an official WWE racing league. Or deciding to crossover with the Jetsons because I guess someone really wanted to make a new Jetsons cartoon that wasn't an Adult Swim parody.

No my friend, if they were really scrapping the bottom of the barrel, they'd do a Superwholock crossover.

In 1978 with disco reigning supreme, a new music genre is burgeoning, with young lovers Zeke (Justice Smith) and Mylene (Herizen F. Guardiola) caught up in the looming cultural revolution. Amidst the backdrop of a bankrupt New York City, ruthless gangsters and money-hungry record label bosses, they discover it’s only their creativity and love that will carry them through – and that they’ll sacrifice everything for their music, and each other.

By the end, it was just getting ridiculous. The first part had a kind of quasi-mythical feel to it, but this time Baz went full Baz, and the story became less of a mythical tribute to the early days of hip hop, and more of a cartoon fantasy using hip hop as a prop. Like I said, it was like bad fanfiction; the big scene in the final episode where they team up with all the legends of early hip hop against Cadillac was just cheesy as fuck, I couldn't take it seriously.

I still enjoyed it, but near the end I was getting sceptical about where the show was going, and once the show fell apart the last episode was just a chore to get through.

Those animated scenes were total dogshit too, they should've just left them out entirely.

>the big scene in the final episode where they team up with all the legends of early hip hop

That kinda happened, in their final throes of rebellion against ye olde recorded medium those big parties kinda happened.

Then less than a couple years later they started putting out records. Everything was fine, and Planet Rock is still the best hip hop album on earth.

Oh yeah, that was the other thing that bugged me. Like, the show makes a big scene about how stopping this whole record thing was a big deal, then tells you that it happened anyway and everything was fine. The fuck.

Part 2 was like an inversion of Part 1, instead of starting out tedious and getting great near the end it went the other way round this time. Man, I knew we were in trouble the moment the cabaret dude showed up.

>cabaret dude

yeah... like someone else said, Baz ended up going full Baz. The whole Rubycon scene... should have been handled much better. I liked it in the first part where Diz went to where-ever-thefuck-it-was (I don't remember, but you know what I mean, Baz being Baz again) because that had legit development for his character and was a nice showcase of an even more "underground" aspect of that era. But the whole Rubycon thing... Not in this series, Baz. You fucked it.

The Rayburns are hard-working pillars in their Florida Keys community, but their past contains dark secrets that they hope remain buried. Paranoia and mistrust build as lies pile up, alliances are shattered and an unthinkable crime takes place with the tight-knit family's formerly harmonious relationship deteriorating. They're not bad people, but they did a bad thing... and then a few dozen more. And that will most certainly continue as the Rayburns reach the end of their morally ambiguous journey.

The final season premieres May 26 on Netflix

Finished the season. It sucks they had to condense 4 seasons worth of story into one but I thought that it was pretty good for what it was and for showing how much a bunch of shitheads like the Rayburns truly are for framing Eric for Marco's murder and covering up Danny being put in the hospital by his dad 30 years ago. Kevin, as usual, let his own fuck up of murdering Marco eventually bite him, in the end, getting arrested by the DEA. John really did want to make things right and I guess that final scene with Nolan was his closure for killing Danny and move on from his past. And Meg ran away to start a whole new life in LA, which is okay but I wish they had featured her more this season but I guess they couldn't.

What did you guys think? I noticed there wasn't a lot of discussion for the final season on the internet. Overall I think the show subsided in the last two seasons and didn't live up to the high expectations set by season 1's quality especially given Ben Mendohlson's tremendous performance as Danny but the acting was very high and made the slow burn this show is known more intense to watch.

>First there was an opportunity, then there was a betrayal. Twenty years later, Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place that he can ever call home. There waiting for him are old buddies Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) and Begbie (Robert Carlyle). Sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, love, fear, regret, self-destruction and mortal danger are also all lined up and ready to welcome him.

I saw T2 Trainspotting last night, and it is amazing. I don't really want to spoil too much, but it's largely original and not really based on Porno. It's a great film if you've seen the first or not. There are a lot of callbacks, but everything you need to know from the first film is in the exposition.

Seriously, go see it.

I wouldnt say it was darker, it was dark but nothing as dark as a baby dying and later hallucinating that baby.

Its basically them coming to terms with being older, which can be pretty dark, basically nothing changed, they are all the exact same people in the exact same situation. But its a good film, i'd definetly recommend watching it.

Loads of call backs to the first movie for those fuzzy nostalgias.

It'll just be like last season when they were in witness protection over the hiatus, then were back to normal within like 2 episodes. Next year will open with some 2 or 3 part shenanigans where they get out. Maybe they even do a cool prison break and clear their names while on the run from the law. Jake would find that fun, he's a big fan of living out popular tropes.

Not a bad last two episodes of the season. Charles, Amy and Terry trying to find out if Gina was pregnant was funny especially when Charles saw Gina about to drink coffee and he just ran over to stop her. Jake and Rosa getting set up and now going to prison was an interesting storyline. That twist with that cop they were able to get testify ending up testifying against them was a surprise. Didn't see that one coming. Overall it was a pretty good season.

Yeah they'll find a way to get out of prison with the 99 to helping to clear their names and implicate Lt. Hawkins. Jake's gonna find a way to Die Hard his way out.

Any movies you're looking forward to this year?

Looks like it's the year cyberpunk and space operas are back, with Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner 2, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Guardians 2, and another Star War all releasing this year. Think I'm most looking forward to Song to Song, Valerian, and Guardians.

Song to Song is Terrence Malick's new flick about love and musicians in Austin, TX. doesn't sound as interesting as his other movies but it's still Malick and the cast is great so I'll be trying to catch this in theaters.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets just looks epic and fun. definitely one to see on drugs.

I got myself all caught up with the new season
And while I don't exactly dislike it I just feel like they're limiting themselves by using this dreamland format, Archer isn't the full on Archer that we know and love and neither are the other main characters. Its an interesting premise but it feels a lot more story driven than comedy driven, which this show has always been rapid fire with.
Nearly every line that usually comes out of Archers mouth in past seasons is something comedic, insulting, or just plain stupid, it just doesn't feel right, and after the whole change up last season with the figgis agency I wish we could have gotten back to them being spies going on crazy adventures in exotic places
