Any movies you're looking forward to this year?

Looks like it's the year cyberpunk and space operas are back, with Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner 2, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Guardians 2, and another Star War all releasing this year. Think I'm most looking forward to Song to Song, Valerian, and Guardians.

Song to Song is Terrence Malick's new flick about love and musicians in Austin, TX. doesn't sound as interesting as his other movies but it's still Malick and the cast is great so I'll be trying to catch this in theaters.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets just looks epic and fun. definitely one to see on drugs.

OP here, watched 2 of em.
War Dogs is great, funny, based on real happening, Jonah Hill surprised me with his acting.

600 Miles also great.

Black Road, looks to be fun too. B movie with fun concepts.

So when I'm playing vidya or studying or folding laundry, stuff like that, I like to put on something I've already seen as background noise. I just went through futurism a for the 20th time and I was ready to put on bobs burgers BUT to my dismay Netflix removed it just a bit ago
Is there a stream site that automatically plays the next episode when an episode is done? I know of several stream site but they don't have this feature and it's a bitch to have to change it to the next episode every time

The problem with Netflix for me is after a few episodes of FG or American Dad it will stop if I haven't pressed the 'are you still alive' fucking shit they throw at you.

OP I go on YouTube with the auto play turned to on and watch the Ricky Gervais Show, every season is on there and you can listen to those without having to do much. If you are into Ricky/Karl/Steve there is also all of the podcast/XFM shit they did as well.

If you don't like that, look for something on Youtube that you do like and do the same thing, just make sure that Autoplay is set to on.

I'm pretty much the same way OP. I like Akira and Gits, but a lot of anime just seems corny, or is catering to the waifu shit, or just has a very generic over-used plot and turns me off.
What's some unique anime that isn't all about that magical mcguffin?

Has anyone seen this? I wanted to like this because nostalgia, and whatever, but holy shit is it bad. They might as well rename the show "bill nye and his scientific echo chamber"

I was putting up with the pandering of the first episode, it was corny and cringy but whatever bill is already cringe personified. That second episode though.. it was just to much. It's very clear that bill doesn't want to hear any views that don't confirm his own and it's really pathetic how he tries to control his panel and won't let you speak if you don't match is echo chamber.

What do you guys think? Am I being to harsh?

Yeah I watched the first two episodes and they were pretty funny and I liked the choice of filming the first episode in black and white. I suppose it's a good contrast of Dev and Sarah with the white Italians from what I noticed. That second episode though was hilarious and the reveal of Arnold's ex looking just like him was great. It was a fun episode with Dev and Arnold hanging out and stuff.

I finished the rest of the season. I gotta say that it was absolutely fantastic and no doubt, I'd put this show in my top five for this year already. I think what really stuck out to me the most is how Aziz portrays Dev as not just being a fun-loving and outgoing guy but also one with emotional depth and understanding especially in his scenes with Francesca. Man those were really riveting to watch to see them together. It did remind me quite a bit of Louie season 4 but it wasn't as dark but holy shit it was shot fantastically and there's quite a bit of Italian influence in this season and it works. I think my favorite episodes of the season, which it's really hard to do since they were so good, were First Date, Thanksgiving, and New York, I Love You. I did find that the penultimate episode would have worked better as the season finale than the one we got though the twist of Francesca deciding to stay in New York was a nice surprise.

>this sounds like an extraordinarily boring and masturbatory premise.
Naa because like, this is what happens to comedians. But Louie did it well. Obviously most comedians are sort of rockstar types (as in, life on tour, lots of parties, people willing to give them free drugs because of their status) so it makes sense that it's a common theme for them to go through this whole midlife crisis thing and make lots of jokes about how their life is different because of kids.

But yeah straight up I've just watched the first episode there and I find it's really not good enough to get away with it.
Like I said, Louie was equally as "masturbatory" but he's definitely talented enough to make it work, I've never seen Aziz in anything before this but so far all I've seen is terrible acting and jokes that aren't very funny.

Only watched it because it came highly recommended by a friend, but he's also really into circlejerk and likes some terrible music, so I guess I was right to feel a bit skeptical. At the same time he also likes AMAZING music so maybe I'll give another few episodes of this a go since someone else said it takes until ep 3 to kick in.

Weird to see Eric in stuff though, it's odd to see him playing a somewhat "straight" character, as in, you can't really say that his performance is 100% jokes like every single one of his appearances in awesome show was.
