I want to give my own take on how I feel about this anime, I have a pretty unpopular opinion. I'm a big Yuri fan, and the anime was very entertaining and the drama kept me hooked. I can't stress enough, I did enjoy the anime. I found myself hating Mei though, because I really feel Yuzu deserves a better girl in her life! I relate to Yuzu a lot, and the way Mei is reminds me of past relationships I've had, where it's kinda mentally abusive. I get really emotional about how I feel about this one, but I can't stress enough Yuzu is great and she could do better, and find a girl who is loving and open to her!
Now that I got that out, I'm going to make use of the sandwich button.

What Sandwich button?

Also your opinion isn't unpopular at all. A lot of people dislike Mei and think Yuzu is stuck in an abusive relationship.

I saw Black Panther in theatres last week and have to say I was very dissapointed. The writing/acting for T'Challa is not engaging and I didn't connect with the character at all. Killmonger's writing/acting was pretty good and really the only bright spot. When I told two co workers at a bar I didn't like the movie they told me to be quiet and not speak so loudly which I wasn't. They were legit scared. I understand a critic not wanting to give a give a negative review about this movie because they would be called a bigot, but the average persom shouldn't feel afraid or that they are a racist for saying Black Panther was not a very good or interesting movie.

The only good thing about it really is Killmonger and T'Challa, the plot is interesting and the characters too.

Everything else is heavily flawed, the action feels weightless and it relies on terrible CGI.

I'll drink some of that Kool-Aid! It was a fun pop corn flick. I was hoping for Wakanda to be bit more trippy and mind blowing, I really liked the little sisters lab though. Killmonger was the first good villain in these, if he was just a bit more specific with his goals it could have gotten really interesting with questioning if he was even a villain.

With that said it wasn't amazing or anything and ya some of the CG looks incredibly dated. For me though this, Cap 2 and GoG have been my faves (haven't seen the second) I don't think it was quite as good as either of those movies though. Two quick little nitpicks... Forrest Whitaker didn't look that young in 1992 and how the fuck did those people get up those cliffs to do their dance?

Just saw it. Killmonger was pretty cool, and I *kinda* liked the interaction between him and T'Challa. And the girl playing the genius sister was really hot.

The rest of it though, boring. To be honest, the only reason I torrented it was because I confused it with the infinity war trailer and thought captain america would appear.

So during the "climax", I got a bit disappointed.

They show that there are tunnels behind the cliffs that the people come out of. When that one tribe shows up and challenges T'Challa, you see them come through the tunnels.

But Smackdown’s move does affect Fox’s television schedule, not to mention the deal is for 5 years and worth more than $1 billion and could be part of the reason why Fox has been canceling their shows and replacing them with cheaper multi-camera comedies and reality shows to make up the difference.

This episode had a lot of fun action but that's about it. Delores...oh Delores. I want to care about your character but...you're just not a good actress in this role. It feels like soap opera acting. Such a contrast to a lot of the other actors/actresses in the show. She is noticeably bad and the more the season goes on the more I am confirming my point.

But yeah. good action scenes overall.

Like said before:

I like the idea that only a few of them are truly conscious while some of them seem to act like they're conscious but they're not.

Still this show has gone "wowdudebro so deep bro what is consciousness bro" to "pew pew samurai and cowboys"

That's not the part I'm talking about, I mean when Tony and Strange first met, 15 minutes into the movie, looooooong before Strange looked into the future. Tony told Strange "if Thanos wants it, let's just destroy it now" and Strange was like "lol nah I kinda like it, I'll keep it safe." Did I imagine that exchange?

Oh yea. He did do that. Call it wizards intuition I guess. Or arrogance. Whatever. Either way works for the character and makes sense contextually. His character would of course think he could beat some random guy he's never heard of who's just a corporeal being...he's faced Dormamu and won. And Dormamu was like a god pretty much.

What the other guy said. Strange's OP. He was holding his own 1v1 against a Thanos with 4 gems. He outwitted a mystic entity far beyond Thanos' weight class. Why the fuck would/should he destroy one of the 6 cornerstones of reality (that he's specifically been tasked with protecting) over this egocentric raisin?
It only becomes clear that Thanos' more of a threat than that once Strange analyzes the timeline possibilities. And the wisdom he gleaned from that was "the only way to beat him is to give it to him". Which refers you back to the prior posts.

Good points, although how safe is the stone in Thanos's hands? Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with anything he did post-look (my bet is that Tony is integral to fixing things and he had to give up the stone to keep him alive). He was still a pompous dick before then. But I digress - you've convinced me. I have to wonder why that wasn't in the script, though (or if it was, I just don't remember it, don't trust my memory lol). All you need is a single line saying exactly that: "I defeated an entity that's basically a god, I can take down a guy who can't handle his grapes."

>how safe is the stone in Thanos's hands?
We'll find out next year. Although were I to hazard a guess, there's one MAJOR element of the source material that somehow hasn't come up ITT yet.
The big central theme to all of Thanos' plots is that he's the one who stops & undoes them. His recurring bids for perfect, foolproof omnipotence always work, but once he gets there it triggers some Freudian routine deep in his subconscious that causes him to self-sabotage. Because he hates himself and doesn't truly feel that deserve to win. Fun fact: his creator came up with him during a psychology lecture whilst 'Nam was going on.
Maybe they'll diverge into something less cerebral but if it's anything like the comics, the Stones're probably safest with Thanos.
>my bet is that Tony is integral to fixing things and he had to give up the stone to keep him alive
To clarify the above; it's never just that which saves the day. It's just one of a complex combination of factors going off in a domino-effect. This suggestion is another one that I expect to come into play. As is Vision still being conscious inside the Mind Stone.
>I have to wonder why that wasn't in the script, though (or if it was, I just don't remember it, don't trust my memory lol).
I don't think it was textually, by maybe sub-textually. Like the aloof tone he had when dismissing the idea. Or that I've-seen-some-shit mini-rant on the ship where he basically tells the others to KYS.
>"I can take down a guy who can't handle his grapes."

New show coming out on Adult Swim. I've not watched a huge amount of Joe Pera but I really like what I've seen from him so far. Connor O'Malley is also involved and pretty much everything he's touched has been gold imo, here's some links to his stuff if you are interested.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzpAYv0AP68 - A vine compilation of him slowly going insane while spending all day cycling around new york, it's much better than it sounds.

Anyway basically I am a big fan of these guys so I reckon that this show should be pretty good.

Season 3 has started.

Season 2 ended after
The Roci crew has an intense battle with the protomolecule soldier after picking it up on Ganymede and somehow they all come out unscathed.
Mars and Earth are on the brink of war as escalations continue and tension mounts.
Avasarala, along with Bobby Draper and her spy/bodyguard Coytar are drawn into Errinwright's and Jules-Pierre Mao's trap and have to find a way off the ship.
The crew of the Roci learns of Naomi's betrayal in giving the protomolecule sample to Fred Johnson.

Season 2 was a whole lot of buildup packed with plenty of action as well. I expect we'll see even more action this season as everything starts to come to a boil with many interesting characters drawn into the fray.

Is it safer than it use to be?
I remember like a decade ago people getting notices from their ISP

What is the current landscape?

Has anyone been in "trouble" recently in the past few years or so?

Is it safe to hit it, get it and quit it?

The thing is: For many shows & movies there is still no way to acquire them in the same quality "legally", at least if you live outside the US.
And using amazon prime / netflix via VPN is basically the same thing as far as legality is concerned. It's not like I'm not down for paying for copyrighted material I consume, it's just that's often not the option.

Plus I'm not that of a sucker, if there is Geoblocking, DRM or ads on payed content (oh and that includes 10 second "trailers") I don't give them my money, just as simple.

A bit funny, I actually asked during the interview process if there's any legal risk involved upkeeping the seed ratio. And they said they haven't heard from any member getting into legal trouble over their torrenting on what.cd. And now they are the ones actually getting busted.

Definitely sad to hear of their demise, especially when you read about studies that show how there's no loss in profit for the artist due to piracy.

On topic: It's all been said already. Country, tracker, vpn, material that you download are the factors that matter.

If you are a celebrity rapist how actually fucking retarded do you have to be to keep trying to get away with it in 2018, it must have been a fun ride while it lasted but it's over now, seriously you think you're gonna get away with roofing chicks after two entire Cosby trials?

The story says the the woman claims when she woke up Besson left her a wad of cash so maybe Besson is trying to play it off that he paid her for sex so it's okay or something. Still, though, what a crazy time to try this shit.

Well to be fair, the book is quite heavy handed. And you gotta expect them to bring up current politics. But I'll have to check it out. I am a pretty big fan of Bradbury.

Hearing about this just makes me more excited to see how the Brave New World mini-series is gonna turn out, but it looks like it might be stuck in development hell because it doesn't appear there's been much news in a couple years... Farenheit 451 is great but like Huxley said, you don't need to burn books if nobody wants to read them. Or something like that.

Came on here to see if there was any discussion of this and I totally agree.
Only seen the first 2 eps but by the looks of things you can get youtube red for a month for free (is there literally any other reason to get youtube red right now?) and will probably check it out.

I am usually very cynical about nostalgic cash grabs but truthfully this one feels like it's been done very, very well. Would have been easy to have made it more about THE Karate kid but the fact they flesh out the bad guy from the first one is a really good decision. Makes him less of a fighting game baddie and more like being a dumb kid.

Only minor complaint that I've had is that it was kinda bullshit how he came into the money to fund the dojo, some old guy just shows up and chucks money at him to turn his life around, just seems kinda lazy

Haven't watched that yet, but from the trailer HBO showed before everything (other than the Westworld trailer) for the past month I couldn't stop thinking about how retarded it was that they made a modern future remake of it but still used physical books. Like, do these people not have Kindles or e-books? Is there no internet or deep web with PDF backups of books? I get the feeling that it's going to bug the hell out of me watching this because my brain won't shut off and let me just accept that for whatever reason despite every other technological advancement the government is still burning physical books to censor free thought.

Also, never saw the old movie but the book kicked ass from what I remember of it.

Yeah, there are some things that just don't make any logical sense. There is some kind of new internet that the ruling government controls and they mention the old internet a bunch, but there is also a "dark" version of the new internet where illegals go to upload and share books and movies and music. They never get into how any of that works though.

Thinking about it now after watching it yesterday, it was actually very stupid if you drop your immersion in the story. They don't get into how things have ended up this way other than mentioning a war a few times. On second thought, it's a very dumb movie.

Anyone watch this? I saw a commercial for it just now and saw that it has Benedict Cumberbatch and Hugo Weaving so it looks pretty cool, but I have no idea what the fuck it's about. Is it a period piece? Is it a thriller or mystery? Is it super serious or does it have some dark humor in it? Checking the IMDB page shows the plot keywords as "child abuse, drug addiction, snobbery, rape, alcoholism" so now I think I'm even more confused as to what this is about. It just premiered tonight on Showtime and I guess it's only 5 episodes long.

It’s a limited series. Looks interesting though:

>Patrick Melrose's harrowing odyssey from a deeply traumatic childhood through adult substance abuse and, ultimately, toward recovery; Melrose is an aristocratic playboy who struggles to overcome the damage inflicted by an abusive father.

I guess it starts and ends(?) in England. Cumberbatch's character has to travel to New York to collect his estranged father's ashes and I guess he spirals further and further into a drug-fueled bender along the way. It kind of sounds like a really British "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" but I'm not sure if the drug abuse and benders are played for laughs or if it's a serious drama. I guess I'll wait to binge the whole series.

It's played mostly straight, the laughs come from the delivery of the inner monologue. If I had to simplify it, it would be: Trainspotting meets Fear and Loathing with a Touch of Enter the Void/Requiem for a Dream.
