Started up Railgun on wednesday after finishing the first season of Index, i'm about half way through.
Its good not great. A lot lighter story but I liked Misaka in Index so its nice to have a show just about her, Kuroko is annoying as all fuck though. The Touma cameos are pretty funny so far and I'm hoping they expand on the Sisters arc since that was one of my favorite parts from Index, that and Accelerator becoming an anti-hero of sorts, hoping he gets more screentime when I start watching Index II after I finish this[/%]

Yeah, I found the magic annoying too, they should have just stuck to pure martial arts. Still, I found it pretty enjoyable, not gonna lie. The fight scenes are pretty good.
Yup very comfy. Makes you realize that maybe living in the modern world really isn't that bad after all.

I didn't know it was made by the Shaun of the Dead guy but that raises the bar in my opinion.

I think if Micheal Bay made this movie it would have been fun. Instead we got something that took you to the brink of fun and left you there while they explored "hu-man" interactions and relationships with all the subtly of a shape shifting alien trying to pass of as a pre-pubesant boy.

It's the breakout indie darling of the year, meaning that while it won't be everyone's cup of tea, the buzz surrounding it works like a dog whistle for contrarian dicknoses who need to loudly proclaim their dislike of the movie, even if they haven't watched it, because they need to right the karmic imbalance in their headcanon.

ok buddy boy

Anyway this episode was good, and I haven't liked many episodes this season. I was ready to hate it because you all said it was just a clip show but it literally isn't, it's original scenarios and there is actually a narrative behind it, unlike Interdimensional Cable. Every clip felt like classic Rick & Morty, although we haven't really had any classic Rick & Morty moments this season. It's almost like every good concept they came up with got stuffed into one episode and the rest of the season has just been left with Simpsons drama and homages to Mad Max and Saw.
Anyway it was really good and so was the previous episode. I hope the final 2 episodes are equally good but without having a gimmick.

Also, tonight's episode was pretty good.

I've been kinda harsh on this season. And it's not like I don't like the episodes, I really enjoy them. But there were a lot of 9/10 and 10/10's last season and season 1 and it feels like there's only been one of those this season and the rest are 7/10's. I guess it would have been unrealistic for me to expect it to keep that 10/10 magic it had for so many episodes in the past. It's still a lot of fun though.

That's pretty much all you got. There was one series that aired in 1999. Features a bunch of z-listers and was pretty shit. No other Avengers show period existed til Earths Mightiest Heroes, which was good enough but kinda cheap modern budget animation and Tony Stark's voice was just....not right at all. Just what? Sounds more like a college freshman Peter Parker than fully grown billionaire industrialist Tony Stark.

I really don't know who would have been a better choice to play Ed than Seth since it's his show and he's a huge Trekkie that can channel his fandom into the role.

>It could be more interesting if he wasn't always riffing on pop culture.

Inserting pop culture references like that is his style but you're right that it can be a detriment.

>Everyone on /1701/ has been ripping on Discovery for so long that when The Orville comes along looking more like Star Trek ready to look favorably on it.

It's easier to appreciate The Orville if you watch Star Trek excluding the new films and Discovery but for those that don't watch Trek such as myself and others, I think it's harder to give it its due because of who's involved with it. I'm sure there were people that didn't watch Blunt Talk just because Seth was an executive producer even though it was Jonathan Ames' show.

This thread is a collection of good movies to watch any day of the year! I will post one film every 24 hours or so.

Movie of the Day:
>Hausu (1977)
A Japanese horror comedy film directed and produced by Nobuhiko Obayashi. It stars mostly amateur actors. The film follows a schoolgirl traveling with her six classmates to her ailing aunt's country home, where they come face to face with supernatural events as the girls are, one by one, devoured by the home.

At first I thought giving people licenses to commit crime was retarded, then I realized that's a stone's throw away from getting licenses to buy, grow, and transport weed. We just don't see manufacturing illegal drugs as a crime cause we're all stoners.

Also Donal Logue's acting is noticeably worse since all that bullshit with his trans son.

Created by George Pelecanos and David Simon (The Wire) and starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, The Deuce follows the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s, exploring the rough-and-tumble world at the pioneering moments of what would become the billion-dollar American sex industry.

The series premieres at 9pm EDT on HBO

I love everything about what I've read (and seen, in some grindhouse movies like Nightmare in a Damaged Brain) about the sleazy sex clubs of 42nd street in the 70s and early 80s. so I'll definitely be checking this out. NYC seems like it was so fucking cool and sleazy in that time period, it'll be pretty awesome to see that recreated with a big budget for HBO.

Good premiere and salad dressing for whats to come. I find the show's focus so far on the pimps and their hoes to be more compelling than what's going on with Frankie and Vincent, though Franco does a good enough job playing both of them.

Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher is an absurdly twisted and action-packed thrill ride. When Jesse Custer, a small-town preacher with a criminal past, realizes God is absent from Heaven, Jesse sets out to find Him. Along for the ride are Tulip, Jesse’s volatile true love, and Cassidy, an 119-year-old Irish vampire, who is Jesse’s best mate. The gang ends up in New Orleans, where they must dodge local gangsters, dangerous secret agents in white suits, and the Saint of Killers, an unstoppable murderous cowboy from Hell.

The season premieres June 25 with new episodes airing Mondays at 9pm EDT on AMC

You know, I KINDA got that vibe ... I have a feeling they might keep the impudence guessing next season as well. Might just be what you said tho.

Someone pointed out they didn't to the "clickbait" ending, I didn't even think of that but now that it's been mentioned I'm happy they did it the way they did.

Comic spoilers for Tulip She get's killed in Angelville either by the grandma or one of her goons. I'm pretty sure God bring her back. As she was bleeding out in the finale I started to remember that and began to calm down. It was still a great death scene non the less. The "let her die" stuff was great. Like I mentioned earlier, the Dennis story line was predictable but I think it worked by making that scene as emotional as it was.

Really like the vampire lore here. It's similar to the comics but I don't think we ever witness someone getting turned in real time in the comics. I just like it when it isn't romanticized. Cassidy isn't a "Good vampire", they don't exist. He's just trying his best to keep it together... Maybe that explains why the guy can handle his drugs so well! Pic realated. I wish Dennis got to become Eccarius but I can see how the didn't have time for it. That and the sort of joke has been done to death after Twilight came out.

Just watched Wonder Woman.

Easily the best of the new DC movies to date though that is not saying much. She really shined in Batman vs Superman so it's no surprise that she killed it in this movie. Perfect balance of cute and hardcore in the role, plus she's a fucking smokeshow. The cute was some comedy I wasn't expecting, some of this movie was like she was Kimmy Schmidt trying to figure out how this world works. Gotta say that a few years ago I shit on Wonder Woman but now I'd say this was really good. I still think DC movies are meh but I'm starting to think that could be Snyder and his pitch black movies with terrible casting.
