Havent seen any posts about this Gem yet, lets change that.

Who's watching Channel Zero S02 No End House? Season One was based all around "Candle Cove" and was a genuine Good and spooky-vibe time.
So far we're two episodes into it and episode 3 comes on this Wednesday.

This Season follows The story of a mysterious House that shows up and encourages people to try to get through all the rooms. Based on the Creepypasta By Brian Russle Syfy has so far adapted these stories in a fresh way that still stays true to the source material

I think it would be cooler if they made every story a 2 part episode and did 3 every season. That being said, the way they did season 1 worked really well but season 2 kinda dragged on. But I really enjoyed them both.

I watched the first four episodes of S02 then read the synopsis online which kinda spoiled the rest. Spoiled it mostly in that the ending was pretty unimaginative I felt. Like the No-End House is a pretty cool concept and they could have done way more with it than what they did. The direction they chose to go was pretty predictable and gay. Still haven't watched the last few episodes, dunno if I will. The magic of the first few episodes for me was slowly learning about the house and how it works. Even if I hadn't read spoilers I feel like everything's basically revealed and over with by the end of episode 4. It sounds like all that's left is some pretty standard horror-romp through the neighborhood bullshit. Am I wrong?

I meant its disturbing that kids do nothing but talk about sex, i mean when i was a teenager yeah we talked about sex sometimes but we had a proper life outside of it, this entire show is about teenagers and their hormones and sex and so ive kind of just deemed it not for me.

not that its a bad show, i can definitely see its merits but yeah, i think ill give the rest of the show a miss.

i agree with what the scene symbolized, but there's no way Kemper only wanted a hug, he knew what he was doing. Dude faked a suicide attempt to lure the guy into a secluded spot so he could terrorize him. I'm guessing Kemper didn;t even know if he was gonna kill the guy or not, just wanted to recapture the feeling of having someone in his web. Then, as Pesk once said 'it wasn't their night", our protagonist gets the opposite diagnosis, it is his night, and Kemper didn't bother stopping him from his terrified flight. But yes, his breakdown in the halls was more about the realizations of who he's becoming and how he feels so at ease around freaks that he just casually strolled into a serial killer trap than just being scared. Maybe he realizes Kemper let him go because he saw a kindred spirit.

They arent dying. When one of my local cinemas plays "classic" movies you literally cannot get a ticket. they are re-showing the godfather at my cinema, not only did you have to buy tickets on the internet but they were sold out in a day.
I went to go see Her in the cinema last year, just rocked up because pffft no one goes to the cinema anymore and the line was so big the usher was standing at the capacity line telling people they wouldnt get a seat but could wait around to see if one comes free. it was absolutely mental.

The thing that makes watching movies on netflix or torrent is if the movie is shit you can just click off and try another one, but when you go to the cinema, you're in for the long haul and it could totally ruin a date if you have to sit through some trash movie.

This. While theaters have the advantage of being able to show the latest films, that isn't always enough for people to go out. You have to make the movie-going experience more enjoyable to movie-goers by offering wider amenities like bar/food/waiter service rather than just what's at the concession stand.

I've been meaning to watch Barry Lindon for a long time. What is it like? Is it really similar to The Revenant? Also, after looking up Aguirre, which I had never heard of, that looks pretty awesome. I may have to check it out.

The Revenant is a realy great movie btw. Definitely up there among Leo's best works. That's saying a lot because every role he gets he does a stellar job. With this role he really went all in and pulled it off flawlessly.

Off the top of my head I can't really think of many movies with a similar atmosphere. The Road (2007) had a really desolate, bleak, and treacherous feel that isn't really all that similar to The Revenant, but the intense heroes journey that is undertaken is similar and there are some similar themes.

True Grit (2010) could be said to be similar as it is around the same time period and deals with some similar bad guys.

The Gray has a similar man vs. nature theme and I thought it was a pretty dope movie. Walkabout (1971) also has a similar man vs. nature theme and it is a superbly shot and technically beautiful film.

Avoid mainstream cinema, much of what it provides shows lgbt people (in ancillary roles) living healthy lives. Instead, watch movies that are explicitly about lgbt people, because tons of them are about queers getting beat down or victimized in some other way. Maybe start with Boys Don't Cry, you'll probably like it.

I know it's counter intuitive, but trust me, it's the best way to go.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Always Sunny. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical bird-law most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Dennis’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Jack Ketchum literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Always Sunny truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Charlie's existential catchphrase “Wild card, bitches!,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Rob McElhenney’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Kitten Mittens tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid.

I don't know how this one flew under my radar this season but I'm glad I caught it when its only on episode 7 because its really wonderful.
The animation is stunning and it has that imaginative magical feel of a ghibli movie, albeit way darker at times. I really love when you can tell how much heart and thought went into crafting a world.
Turns out less than a year ago they released a 3 episode OVA that covers some of the MCs backstory so I made sure to watch that before continuing the show, gonna try to catch up all the way tonight. I think its going to be 2 cour too so theres a lot to look forward to and I might start reading the manga once I catch up. I already read the first chapter and the first episode was a direct adaption so that might help the week long wait between episodes.
