I'm pretty sure its supposed to be
>Brock is a power lifter who consumes a ton of protein to get swole, which is good for the symbiote. If he was to become a slob he'd be consumed
>Spider man is a little boy with super dense muscle mass and a high metabolism who eats pizza and cheetos inbetween meals of chicken tenders and hot pockets warmed up by Aunt May, who can shrug off the symbiotes hunger by just eating like a pig and chalking it up to youthful overindulgence.

First of all I have no idea what you are talking about them taking this super seriously but if you're talking about me, i just want more people to know about vaping if they want to quit. Secondly, that episode was pro catholic, everybody knows there's been a problem with pedophilia within the institute of the catholic church, they poked fun at that, and then they framed it az the priest having a mission to protect the children.

There's too much what-the-fuck in this article to know where to start.
Suffice to say it reads like a fluff piece the writer shat out & sold to whoever needed 2 pages of vacuous content-for-hire that week. Comic continuity is not the be-all-end-all of movie decisions, and the Carol/X-Men connection is coincidental.
>>403494

Let's do a thread for October. I don't have anything planned but I was gonna watch 31 movies anyways so why not.

>Wishmaster (1997)
>A demonic djinn attempts to grant its owner three wishes, which will allow him to summon his brethren to Earth.

I'm surprised it took me this long to hear about and watch this. What a great horror movie. Some of the computer effects look terrible but all of the practical is fucking sweet. (see skeleton digging himself out of his own body). But the Djinn is also a really played up trickster that they have fun with.

My only problem with it is I understand that he probably needs souls to power up. But once you get to that last person why not offer them a bunch of great stuff instead of eternal suffering. I bet some of them wouldn't even know.

I may watch this this October after waiting a while. I watched 'The Fog' this year from Carpenter... the soundtrack. Jesus christ. The movie is slow with little character development (that's good IMO). The story was a skeleton of an outline of a short-story.. the rest was imagery, scene, setting, and music. 'The Fog' is one lesser known for a reason I thought at the end, it wasn't one of his best, but it's still better than anything in the past 10 years imo.

The last movie I watched for October horror fest was 'The flesh and the fiend.' It's a 1960s English horror movie featuriung a few names from that era, an era I'm not really that interested or versed in. But that particular story, one of grave robbers and early 1800s British anatomists and scientists is not 'based on' but a retelling of an actual true story from the era. It's real horror from our own history. The movie, starring Peter Cushing, was a stunner. It was a sincere and austere period piece when I was expecting a gaudy and ridiculous Hammer Horror style schlock film.

I enjoyed it and recommend it to others. It retells the story of Dr Robert Knox and the famous Irish grave-robbers in 1820s Scotland who provided him with questionably acquired fresh corpses. This is an entirely true story, and the skeleton of the executed graverobber Burke is still on display in the Anatomical Museum at the University of Edinburgh (pic related)

> A disturbed woman is haunted by memories of childhood abuse, which culminates in a murder spree.

YT Trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k30aNFUX4Q

I thought this would be more of a horror movie because it is a video nasty. It's just a movie about a girl getting sexually molested a lot and kids getting beat. If I had to pay some ridiculous amount to illegally obtain a video nasty and I got this I'd be fucking pissed. It's just a very uncomfortable movie. It has some really good cinematography and lighting and visual effects but it isn't worth it. I understand that sometimes you need brutal and realistic scenes because that's the point of the movie but if you can't use them right it just kills everything.

>but I was just saying at least fucking naked and afraid has starvation

But they don't. And this has been confirmed by multiple contestants who said production gave them food. Survivor doesn't hide the fact that they give players a minimal amount of food... There's no getting around it. So, it's funny that you chastise Survivor for not being genuine, while praising N&A just because you don't know what happens BtS.

>have to do obstacle courses

Which are physically draining and negate the caloric intake from food they're given by production.

>and make friends

Yeah, because in order to win the game, the people you played with decide who wins $1,000,000. If you were a cunt to them the entire game, they aren't voting for you to win in the end. In fact, it has become a strategy to take a cunt to the end of the game, because then you odds improve.

Any characters ruined whole shows for you?

To the point where you couldn't even finish the first season?

To the point you wished the character a horrible death and the show could continue without them?

  • Walter Whites Wife
  • The Wife and the boy in Lost in Space (Netflix)
  • Piper Chapman and Alex Vause in Orange is the new Black

All of them manipulative, unbearable fucktards.

Catch me up. I’ve only watched these last few episodes.
What are your thoughts on the series compared to dragon ball, & DBZ?
I always figured there were aspects based upon spiritual concepts of western cultures like chakras and auric fields but it seems now they’ve fully adopted that idea. Though I’m not a fan of the new-school I do approve of that feature.

Haunting of Hill house up to episode 6

Solid series. Its much scarier than say American horror story, but also much slower and character driven. The ghosts get less scary as you acquaint yourself with them but you still get chills for at least four episodes. I recommend it. It's got the solid drama of a premier TV show bit with a side of ghosties. It's good.

Just finished Episode 4. That was the best episode so far. It's not particularly scary(but it doesn't feel like it tries to be), and it doesn't feel very original. But I like the way it tells its story through the eyes of different characters...almost like Lost did. Pretty good.

I don't know why I decided to watch this but it's brilliant. Stylistically bizarre, Shakespeare with Rechian Hustlers and a touching emotional journey. Entertaining and fresh despite its age.

Man they should've given Iron Fist at least another season, if they couldn't redeem it after that then scrap it

So I hate using RT as a metric of quality, but if it gets more people watching a quality product then I'm all for it. Stan Lee is known for his "every issue is someone's first" mentality. Opposite company, but it's a valid explanation of how this show is playing out. So far it's been heavy on the action and light on the backstory.

2nd episode of Titans is out and wew lad am I having fun. For comic readers it's a modern TV-take on Chuck Dixon's Nightwing run. For non-comic readers it's "Fuck you, dad! I don't wanna be a child soldier anymore!" It's like the first season of a CW DC capeshit show with a production budget and talented crew. As of now there isn't much filler. Sure there's the occasional love triangle bullshit, but it's such a small part of the show. It also handles the notion of secret identities a lot looser. Shit happens when it happens. My only gripe is Raven's actress. It's not even her fault. 99.98% of child actors are trash and she's no exception.

If Titan's is setting the bar for DCU's shows, I can't wait for Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing.

Did I miss something? I could have sworn that season 8 was supposed to have started back in July, now IMDB says it doesn't air until some time in 2019. Was there some announcement that I never heard?

This is what GRRM wants us to think. Sometimes the most simple answer is the one that's true: he's always been a slow writer and fame/pressure to write faster has only slowed his already glacial pace.

On topic of the books, I'm just learning about the book The World Of Ice And Fire. Is it worth reading? I guess it's more a history book than a novel, but is it still an entertaining read for Thrones fans? Does it come off like a collection of short stories about the past, or is it just a bland desprictions of boring old shit. Apparently Martin has a new book coming soon in the same style as this book only about the Targaerean royal history, so someone must be reading these things.

GRRM has a couple of series of novellas in the same universe. There's the Targ dynasty ones which I haven't checked out, and the Tales of Dunk and Egg which follow Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, the future king Aegon the Unlikely, during the aftermath of the Blackfyre rebellions some 90 years before the main series. These are fun! A little more lighthearted and you get more history and cameos from people of legend. There are graphic novel versions of Dunk and Egg, but the art isn't great and you miss out on some stuff.

As for A World of Ice and Fire, I haven't read it, but it's basically an encyclopedia written from the perspective of varies maesters. I hear it's interesting and a bit of fun because of the varying degrees of reliability when it comes to entries.
