There's a convention in Orlando, idk how many days, but there are a bunch of cameos, tributes, and apparently some information about upcoming movies and media.

If this is your kind of thing, here's the stream:

The Last Jedi trailer is out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB4I68XVPzQ

Looks alright even if Luke training Rey is reminiscent of Yoda training Luke.

So, they're copying the Empire Strikes Back now. Fantastic. I hate Disney Star Wars. I miss the politics of the prequels.

It's funny because you already know at this point in time that at the end of episode IX there will be a celebration scene with the not-ewoks singing their equivalent of the yub-nub song and all the dead jedis including Luke watching them. Rotten Metacritic score: 89. Consumerism has gone too far. Just screencap this and we'll talk in 2019 when the "film" comes out.

Hahaha, I can only laugh at new Star Wars cuz I'm a Star Trek person and as much as I've been burned by JJ Trek, (The last film was OK tho), it's not as bad as Disney's treatment to Star Wars . What do you love!? I'M GONNA SHOVE IT IN YOUR FUCKING FACE TILL YOU CRY!!! YOU LOVE IIITTTT!! FUCK YOU!!!

Man, they'd better change shit up this time. People seemed to like Force Awakens, but I said at the time you can't literally just do A New Hope over and call it a good film. If they do it again I think more people will call bullshit this time.

Anywho, new trailer looks cool tho we don't really see much. Hoping the Knights of Ren are a big part of this one.

Compared to what?
It may have been dull but it was probably the best Star Wars movie so far
I have watched every single Star Wars movie and each one is worse than the last, until TFA, which was metiocre, but this was a pretty solid movie. Just so many of the movies were 100% retarded. I think the reason I don't typically like it is because I feel like it could be 100x better as a hard sci fi.

Agreed, I'm not a big SW geek but I enjoyed the film more than most of the others. It was a nice break from the tight canon of the normal films to have a one-shot. It also seemed to be a smarter film and have more valuable political commentary than anything ep7 offered.

Somewhere at Disney HQ:

"Sir, many people have complained that our attempt at continuing the Star Wars saga bore too many similarities to the first film. They say it felt like a remake moreso than a sequel."

"Good... Good..."

"B-but sir? You want to remake the original trilogy?"

"Everything is proceeding as I had foreseen. These people care not for an original story. We will rewrite what was written and collect their wages all the same."

No, but seriously, that new trailer that just dropped? It's The Empire Strikes Back. You've got a line of AT-ATs launching an assault on a white planet (doesn't look to be snowy, but same color). You've got Rey training with Luke just as Like trained with Yoda. You've even got the Millennium Falcon being chased by TIE fighters through a space tunnel in a scene reminiscent of the asteroid work. Phantasma looking awfully Bobs Fett like, attacking the Han Solo analogue (Finn) — how much you wanna bet she takes him captive at the end of the film, and the 3rd film starts with Rey rescuing him?

And I'll be damned if they didn't spoil the death of Leia in the trailer. I'll bet my cock and balls that Darth Edge fires those rockets and blows her up.

One more thing — what's up with pic related? How are these feet better than what they had before? Why do they feel the need to change things and make them worse?

If theyre gonna be remaking, they should go back and remain the prequels but this time make them not a turd.

I hope it gets some flak from the critics this time. I think last time people were just so happy to see Star Wars again they were a bit too forgiving, but if we get another rehash I can see people actually getting pissed. That'd mean 2/3rds of the new trilogy already achieved absolutely nothing in terms of story.

Nah. People want rehashes. They want to see the same shit over again. If it didn't reliably sell then they wouldn't keep doing it.

Where's the god damn originals in HD?

pretty much

none of these big studios have any balls anymore. rehashes and remakes always sell no matter the quality. you're going out on a limb if you try something new and if you screw up you're losing a lot and the film industry is kinda hemorrhaging.

I'll watch the new one but I won't see it in theaters. I'll just wait until I can download it. TFA and Rogue One were pretty good imo, better than the prequels but I've never been very invested in Star Wars. They're nothing special like a lot of people seem to think but worth the hour and a half I guess.
