I am also a fan of Aubrey "No Pants" Palza. Seriously though, this might be the only piece of media where I get hyped as fuck when people start dancing. The dance numbers in this show are fucking phenomenal. The new ladies remind me of Foxy Shazams frontman.

This show has the most amazing transitions. Beautiful episode.

So I'm guessing that Section 3 is still holding him inside the sphere. That is assuming that Section 3 used the sphere to capture him in the first place. And that Farouk is trying to communicate with him to get him to help Farouk find his body so as to kinda make a deal with the devil to possibly get him out of the sphere?

I read a quote by Hawley that siad something about how last season David was the one that was insane and that this season it's everyone else that's insane and he's the one seeing clearly, so do with that as you will. I can't seem to find the quote now.

Not really season 2 related, more season 1 episode 1 related. Does it get better / change kinda? Quit at the first ep. since it felt sickly sweet and edgy. High quality edge and high quality syrup though so I'd understand liking it. But does it keep that same feel? Considering giving it another chance.

I thought it got better. That's a pretty surreal episode but a lot of them are but honestly if you didn't like the first episode I'm not positive you'll love the whole thing. I think around episode 4 it get's into horror and it was actually the freakiest thing I saw that year.

Bumping for tonight.

Generally, the tone changes a lot throughout the entire season. I don't know whether or not you'd like it based off just the first episode but I'd recommend giving it a try if not just for the technical brilliance alone.

I wasn't all in until probably the 3rd of 4th episode. Early on I was kinda just like "wtf am I watching" it felt a bit overly stylized and shit early on, but the edginess is done correctly considering the story. It's not overly edgy.

Idk why I never thought of the possibility of Syd switching places with a cat. I'd be so content in life if I could just come home from work and be my cat and sleep for 12 hours.

So I guess one arc this season may be about David deciding whether or not to go to the dark side. They seem to be alluding to that. And he was certainly contemplating it as Farouk's words went through his head after the meeting with him towards the end.

My theory about him still being in the sphere must have been wrong, that was a red herring. It's nice that this season has a much more clear narrative, yet they're still keeping it trippy. It's easier to follow. Also glad to see Oliver taking a more central role this season.

I'm intrigued to find out who the bald dude with the weird symbols on his head is. Looks like Lenny and Oliver planted him in the room full of chatterboxes.

Oh yeah, durp.

so I imagine that yamamoto or whatever the leader of Section 3's name is, is the only one to know about him or that it's top secret. I'm guessing when David finds him that he will fall into a trap that the Section 3's leader has set for him.
Everyone is suspicious of him.

I'm glad this episode FINALLY cleared up who/ what Lenny actually is and how she relates to the shadow king. I thought it was just a meat suit but she does have a lot of her mannerisms so I thought it was more complicated than that. I really like her character, she wan't to leave but can't deny it's been on hell of a ride. She'll know side with the Shadow King because he is essentially God, she has no proof of an actual afterlife. Kinda hard to not see where she's coming from.

I dig true form shadow king. He's like when you play a super hero game on the evil setting, it's just not as fun to be hero. He's not taking some sick pleasure into slowly killing his victims or anything, he's just having a ball with his powers. Turning people into pigs and fish. The confrontation scene was fun too.

I did get around to giving it another go, completed the first season just the other day. Only watched until the group session in the first ep. so I was kinda surprised after that.

I hated it. It's so sloppy with human interactions. I don't know if Pherook is supposed to be scary or funny, but it suceeds with neither. It's the silliest thing I've ever seen. Action sequences feel like a bad prop instead of something happening. It's just there because it needs to be.

In the first gun fire segment a dude is shot through the shoulder, but it doesn't matter in any way. Some episodes later the internal Carrie is shot in the exact same location and now it's a big deal out of a sudden. Also worst fucking character. The only developed trait / personality is that she's a martial artist and loves to fight, yet will run like a bitch from a single person.

And then full on unaging astral plane jazz diver, felt like it was all just a april fools leadon into a Mighty Boosh episode.

And then in ending episode, give lots of time to develop a reason for "villian" to hate David, but apparently Davids gf thinks he likes him anyway and is correct? Without any sign or reason to do so? And also, David telling him after Pherook had gone with Oliver, "Now we have to work together", before he knew that Pherook had gone off with David. Sure if it was after they figured out Oliver was gone, but straight after he awoke and had no idea what happened or where Pherook went? Come on.

But, all wining aside, started on the first ep. of the second season and saw that it was in collab with marvel and it all made sense. It's a fucking comic book, just in live actor video form. Now all the heavy handed absurd writing and over the top stuff makes sense. I hate story telling in comics.

So yeah 10/10 good show, I'll keep watching.

How do I post this without spoiling anything... I feel suicide by water gun is going to be a new reaction Gif. I felt really bad for Lenny. Maybe the audience isn't supposed to care but I think that was showing Davids more villainous side that someone is begging for mercy and he doesn't care or have time for it. Cool origin sort of episode in a way. Great mix of comedy and drama this episode like how David asks the monk if he has a girlfriend

as far as comic source material it seems they are selecting the best of ..even when it comes to lenny in the second season in episode 2 and 3 i get strong oldschool legion vibes.

that said i couldnt imagine Excalibur as a tv show, that shit would make even less sense to non comic fans

Again, I was kind of bored this week. This and last weeks ep should have been smushed into one single ep, with David in Syd's game for the early parts of the ep when she keeps asking for David but not getting him. Anyways, the ending was insane and made up for it, at least. Hopefully the season gets better.

Also FX announced this season will be expanded by one episode. Before you get too hyped, though... rumor is that the show is cancelled and this is the series finale being added. JUST A RUMOR THOUGH, don;t quote me on that shit

There's your problem. The show is obviously best enjoyed while high.

I really don't get any of the complaints you guys have been making. The acting hasn't gotten bad and it's still very fun. I bet some of y'all making complaints made similar complaints during the new season of Twin Peaks. I can see some parallels in the strange manner of storytelling and somewhat glacial pace. The pacing of this season is one thing I could see people complaining about though. The first season basically had a climax that lasted the entire season. This season, the narrative is a lot more straightforward so while still retaining the same style they're telling this story (which is a lot less action packed) in a much different way. If you really think it sucks that bad, you might want to back out now because I'd bet there will be a few more episodes where it's similar before this season climaxes.

I actually noticed similarities to Twin Peaks season 3, only my thoughts were that Hawley learned all the wrong lessons from it. Somehow Peaks managed to keep me captivated for 5 minutes of someone sweeping a floor, but Legion is making me lose interest constantly during scenes where I just zone out and realize "I give zero fucks right now about this crap". The David episode this week was a major improvement, even if the more jaded fans might find it more filler/boring crap the way I found the long Syd episode. Either way, I can understand their complaints, but I'm not gonna drop the show in what is 90% likely it's final season. Season 1 was good enough to earn a little loyalty.

>>397804
Maybe that's the case if someone watches EVERY show high, but some shows are just tailor made for people on drugs. This being among them. Same for most Adult Swim original series. I watch plenty of shows sober, but can't imagine watching Legion without bud.

I am "DEBIRMAN" (pic related). I can't believe it actually ripped through his back. I thought it was just some sort of magic powers type thing but no, his back is opened up when he's laying on the floor. Them freaking out about the boss and how he's going to eat them was great. Burnt face mans little dream sequence was great.

Crazy episode, according to next weeks previews the David episode from last week does have some sort of consequence. I thought the whole thing was just pointing out how much his sister cared about hiim but there might be more to it than that.

They put him on the mainframe so I'm curious if he'll just be locked in there eternally or if he'll somehow still be able to use his memory powers from within it. I enjoyed the Allegory of the Cave reference. I hadn't read that since high school and it's even more relevant now than it was then, by a lot. I'm not sure what they were getting at with the narcissism stuff though.

I'm guessing they were implying that David is a bit narcissistic and that Farouk is definitely narcissistic. Maybe implying that David is near the tipping point of becoming like Farouk. The way he makes so many decisions without considering letting anyone else in on them I guess is what they were getting at. Though a lot of what he does is supposedly to help them but it is a bit narcissistic of him to think he can do it all on his own. Buuut, he is the most powerful person in the world besides Farouk. Well yeah, I guess now that I typed that out, I understand what they were getting at.
