Get ready for some bad fucking vibes...

This is happening in the country with the largest proven, accessible oil reserves in the world. A full-on civil war is coming, and it is going to affect everyone in North and South America.

It's hard to find good and objective articles. Are there any South Americans here that can contribute something?

Here's an editorial from the Atlantic back in 2016:
>>No sooner had the TP delivery reached the factory than the secret police swept in. Seizing the toilet paper, they claimed they had busted a major hoarding operation, part of a U.S.-backed “economic war” the Maduro government holds responsible for creating Venezuela’s shortages in the first place. The entrepreneur and three of his top managers faced criminal prosecution and possible jail time.

Here's one about the zoos' trouble feeding their animals this year.

Everything out there seems to be just clickbait with a political agenda these days.

>U.S.-backed “economic war”

Lol the Chávez fans just love to excuse themselves. Truth is he fucked up big time.

The country has completely collapsed dude. It's the worst case of Dutch disease in a long while. They pegged their entire economy on the value of oil, by directly investing the revenue in their own country through their budget, so when the oil price dropped over half of its value the whole artificially inflated structure fell as a house of cards.

Good economists could've easily prevented this, but now I doubt even magicians can save them from hitting rock bottom. Not like Maduro is helping the situation anyways.

None of which is to say that the US doesn't have its fingers in the pie. Destabilizing Latin American countries is a national pastime.

So their own irresponsible economic policies should not be mentioned?

Primarily they got fucked by the fall of the oil price. So you can say they got fucked by the US because the US suddenly got energy independent because of internal shale oil and fracking, but that's not "economical war".

Hell even Cuba got shit going for them, and they've been in the bad eye of the US forever.

Venezuela fucked up big time. That is fact. Their example is exactly why Norway ended up shoring their oil revenue in a fund.

>During a meeting with community doctors, the president explained that Reuters, AP, AFP and EFE news agencies create a false and negative image of Venezuela, to encourage foreign intervention.
>On January 5, President Maduro indicated that only in 2017 media corporations based in the United States generated 3,880 negative news about Venezuela. Of this figure, 1,860 were generated during the violent protests (guarimbas) of extremist sectors of the opposition between April and July of last year.
>The news agency Reuters led the broadcast of negative news about the South American country in 2017 with 60 percent of news items (replicated by The New York Times), followed closely by the Associated Press (AP) with 31 percent of news items, published by the Washington Post, Miami Herald and ABC News. In third place the Agence France-Presse (AFP), with a respective 9 percent.

Leftist politicians getting assassinated in cold blood in the streets, Western media pretending it isn't happening.

Another American-backed, murderous right-wing coup is imminent.

Don't pretend that Maduro's regime is somehow saintly. As long as that motherfucker and his retarded cronies are at the helm, leftism is getting dragged through the mud.

Acknowledging that the US media regularly lies about the poor countries that the US regularly victimizes is not the same as calling Maduro a saint.

Fuck off with that "with us or against us" binary simpleton thinking.

So in the country with the highest murder rate in the world, what evidence would suggest that this guy being murdered is a CIA backed conspiracy?

It is a "with us or against us" world mate. You're either a progressive green technophiliac pro-automation leftist, or you're first to die when the machine uprising begins. Make your choice now mate, cyborgification or DEATH!

Marduro is a fuck up for letting the US fuck with their economy and fund rioters.

This would never have happened under Chavez.

Chavez had charisma, a high oil price and was much less openly fascist.

Are you kidding? The oil price crash caused this. They never diversified their economy during the good times. Sometimes someone can fuck up with no outside help.
