So Jeffy "Light Treason" Sessions has just skipped the usual dog whistles and is straight up going white supremacist.

oh no, he was totally innocently referring to england and american law, not white people! no no, your characterizations of him as a racist are hurtful! poor jeffy did nothing wrong

See, he didn't say "anglo-american law". He said "anglo-american heritage". He said it even though it wasn't in his speech notes.

Most people would get the benefit of the doubt, but not Sessions. He knew what he was saying.

If you're trying to sound sarcastic you shouldn't say something that is basically the complete truth.

Since when do the States care about their British and English heritage? I mean it's not like anybody gets taught who Braddock was in school, or the young British officer who started the conflict with the natives and french (before he became commander of the continental army that is). In fact, when I went to high school, the entire 7 Years' War was completely ignored and history started in 1775.

And believe me when I tell you, it's a Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III kind of school.

Like an above poster said, anybody else would get the benefit of the doubt (though they probably do not deserve it) but Sessions tipped his hand already.

i said sessions had no sentiment of racism. i said it sarcastically. he is clearly racist. he nitpicked words to express his racist sentiments to like-minded constituents, but with enough plausible deniability to get away with it. this is profoundly obvious to anyone with a speck of insight

I understood your sarcasm and i bet he would too in any other circumstance, but is arguing with someone who is on the same side of the issue worth it?
Let it go.

Why so bothered? Even the spelling bee pajeets notice the Anglo language of origin of the word itself before the keebler elf noted it.

What exactly is your problem here?

Do you think the office of the sheriff is not part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement? Then just what exactly do you think which tradition the American law enforcement system derives from? Sharia law? Vedic law? Talmudic law? Confucian law?

Or are you just butthurt that he referred to an element of White culture without calling it "shameful" or "evil" in the same breath? Well then you're part of the reason why your side is losing so hard. Normal people don't actually enjoy living as self-hating faggots who are expected to apologize at every turn for being direct descendants of the people who built the societies that seemingly all the brown people in the world want to live in.

If he would have said "Anglo-Saxon" instead of "Anglo-American" and wasn't the image that comes into my head when I think of the overlap between the KKK in U.S. government I might buy that.

You should start hating yourself for making weak ass arguments.

i mean i agree the controversy is overblown, but it's rather tone-deaf in how he said it. there would have been less controversy had he said "heritage of Common Law," which is more accurate and omits evocation of a specific ethnic background, which is odd to do anyway since America was never even ethnically majority English.

shit like this is exactly why you go over your speech with a committee n stuff. the PR aspect of it matters, and Sessions, being a senile white dude out of touch with the general populace, especially non-whites, fucked it up.

He went over the speech with a committee. What he said didn't match his written speech. He intentionally chose to use that very specific phrase. It was a conscience decision on his part. https://www.justice.gov/opa/speech/attorney-general-sessions-delivers-remarks-national-sheriffs-association

The 'tradition' has many dysfunctional elements embedded deeply in it. Why mention it like this, in this manner. Is he an idiot? Is his supporters? I've been associates with neo-nzis. This they would agree the speak is what it is inferred to be. Whites only. You who overuse the idiotic non-word butthurt, sharia law,
are insecure morons who if it were not for civil rights would be simply equivalent of a Nazi regime.

In fact you are simply not much more, we of the right and left, all religions here and the world who can think, are keeping you in your place. Which is where you choose to stay.

The Westminster system on which US law is based is both Anglo and Anglican.

But if you think he simply misspoke as opposed to this being an intentional and calculated tactic to fuel the present inferno of political discourse then you haven't been paying attention to the metagame this administration has been playing.

Or, and hear me out, he is just that oh so rare a bird, an old, white, southern racist. I know...some say such a thing can't exist. But, imagine if you will that mayhaps Jefferson there just said it because he thinks white people law is superior to any other form of law, like say one where cops go to prison for executing you in the street.

Anyone who doesn't see this was an intentional mincing of words to get away with racist sentiments with a plausible deniability excuse is either themselves a racist, or trolling. End of discussion.

Hmm yes you're right, it must be the most naive, simplistic surface-level explanation, because everything the elite says and does in mass media is 100% authentic and honest.

Anglo institutions are the only thing keeping rogue states like Israel and Pakistan together. The WASPs know administration the way axis powers know Machinery.

Are you using strange definitions of axis and machinery?
The major Axis powers of WWII each developed tanks and planes that had greater rates of mechanical failure than combat losses.
Submarine sunk by flushing toilet related.

nice reference to an 80 year old political landscape as a sideshow to the actual discussion at hand which is that the current attorney general of the united states is a heavily racist out of touch old southerner who barely makes an effort to hide his sentiments

Jeff sessions has said so many horrific things in his career I really don't see the need to grasp for straws looking for coded racist meaning in a perfectly fine sentence, the fact "Anglo-American heritage" can be read as a white supremacist in 2018 doesn't change the fact it's been a common legal term for over 200 years and the fact Jeff sessions is a racist doesn't mean he's not allowed to say those words

If you want to string up for what he's said stick to the good shit
>I noticed one thing. According to the ABA statistics, only 3.5 percent of lawyers in America in 2000 were Hispanic, yet they - Hispanics make up 5 percent of the federal district court judges and 6 percent of circuit court judges.
>I love that program (asset forfeiture). We had so much fun doing that, taking drug dealers' money and passing it out to people trying to put drug dealers in jail. What's wrong with that?
>I thought the KKK were alright till I found out they smoke grass
