The French are also rattling the sabers. Russian fighter planes are harassing French and US vessels in the Mediterranean, and have responded that they will attack any missile platform that threatens Syria.

It's reported that the Syrian army are emptying bases in anticipation for the attack.

Even if Trump backs down now, the Syrian conflict just got a lot hotter.

See you all in basic training.

This is a distraction. He's likely going to be firing Rosenstein, which is a transparent attempt to get to Mueller. It's a smoke screen and one that will kill hundreds, probably thousands of civilians, it will probably escalate matters in Syria and, if Russian soldiers are hit, could spark a full on war with them.

None of our allies are going to aid Russia, lol. They're in hot water with much of the West because of the assassination in the UK, plus Germany doesn't like them for meeting in their elections.

You almost would have been believable if you just stopped at "no one is going to help us", but you had to go full retard, lmao

If Russia and the US go to war, there are two outcomes. Russian destruction, or World Destruction. Russia doesn't have the conventional strength nor the power projection to challenge the US

Of course, they can just start popping off ICBMs and then nothing else matters.

>Suddenly, scores of Russian diplomats expelled, Russian client-state challenged for controversial actions (notice Trump doesn't challenge similar atrocities in oh, say, Venezuela, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, etc...), making it look like Drumpf is a red-blooded Murrkan who was never influenced by the dirty Ruskis

If we have a skirmish with Russia I just want to see what Turkey would do. They're NATO lol but have been sucking hard on Russian cock lately.

Appearently UK prime minister May is positioning ships and has called a cabinet meeting. May has said she won't wait for parliamentary approval to act. France is reportedly fielding ships too. Engagement seems imminent at this point and Russia is vowing to retaliate against any ships that fire at Syria. This gonna be fun.

Nobody is saying he won't start a war, people are saying he's going to start a bunch of wars America won't win while alienating the entire country from the rest of the world. It's all scripted at this point, the champ will lose the belt while becoming the foil and all the corporate endorsements will go to the new empire champion. He's going to be fine either way.

That's why I kind of want Trump to pull the trigger on this one. I'd support anything that keeps American troops in Syria. Our bases and airstrips are all located in SDF held territory. Only reason Turks haven't pushed into Manbij is the fact that there are Americans positioned there. US won't pull out of Manbij until they've pulled out of Syria completely because its effectivley their beachhead west of the Euphrates. So long as US positions hold, Turkey won't be able to advance. Buys the Kurds a little time at least.

Erdogan I'm sure would try something like that however it'll be interesting because Turkey is in Russia's camp as far as Syria. Turkey has already agreed to let Assad stay, so long as he suppresses the PYD/YPG. Turkey wants the US out of Syria as much as anyone because we're sheltering the Kurds. Now that May and Macron are getting involved and would be apart of negotiations, I doubt they'd show much trust or kindness towards Erdogan's scheming. Support for Kurdistan is a lot more pronounced in Europe as well. Any peace deal needs to needs to protect Rojava.

come on. you guys act like empires are sustainable. empires in reality will be the death of humanity, mark my words. America was destined to come crashing down as a power structure at some point. Where's the roman empire? how about the great persian empires? The only difference now is humanity has spent over half of their scientific advancements on self-destruction, and leisure.

anyone who thinks one person will be the end of an empire isn't paying attention to detail. not the case. perhaps one person is the symptom of the insanity, and sickness that is imperial rule. we live in modern times, yet the ideologies and methods humanity tends to interact with hold old, brutish, undertones, in a disgusting civilized way not a primal way. social Darwinism is the most unscientific theory, yet we all still gladly adhere to the systems such boneheaded theories justify.

Turkey under Erdogan is not popular politically anywhere in Europe at the moment. Europe deals with Turkey out of necessity not ambition. Long term hopes for the EU vis a vis Turkey have recently become far longer.

Also no one but the Brits and possibly French have the political will or even ability to enter anything but a defensive war. Aside from the Baltic states and a few paranoid Poles Europe doesn't need to fear a conventional Russian invasion. Assymetric warfare (perfected by Putin) is a different worry and nukes are a whole 'nother ballgame. Also no-one is joining in on a large-scale war against Russia because that is retarded. Expect all your allies to stare at their feet if Trump decides to wave his (formidable) military around. Iraq was bad enough and politicians have taken heed from the legacies of their predecessors.

This is not relevant for this thread. Trump is a scumbag hello we've heard all of this before, yadda yadda.

However a large part of US establishment is pushing for an attack against Assad, hell even Cunt McClinton went official in support for this.

Then there's the fact that Russia is now claiming that Great Britain staged the chemical attack in Douma.

There's some high-level play going on here folks, and both sides are lying to us at varying degrees.
Personally I think GB, who apparently have been pushing a lot for an attack, wants revenge for the attempted chemical assassination on their soil. Then you have all those military aides of Trump who always enjoys giving the D to Russia or anyone they can frame an enemy.
And in all of this we have the lowkey-cocksucking Putin who always plays the game dirty, and tries to smokescreen everything through causing as most chaos as he can.

Thing is that those that like him for being an asshole hate Muslims while those who can tolerate Muslims hate assholes. Also Erdoggy is on a whole different level to Fico or PiS.

It's really just young democracies being predictably populist and corrupt. They can't go too far or they'll get kicked out of the EU (which they love to bitch about but would never dare leave).

Not yet it's only been about an hour since they dropped. Footage from civillians and Syrian state TV is trickling in and the Syrians are claiming they intercepted 13 missles which should be taken with a grain of salt since they are known to embellish to the world.

Trump claimed that the US is prepared to launch these "sustained attacks" until the regime ends its chemical weapons use. which we all know happens multiple times every year/month. This nigga was pulling out 2 weeks ago now we're there to stay for a while...it's like at least know what the fuck u wanna do.

Not surprised about any of this. a fellow 420channer predicted he would go the warmongering route in order to stabilize his rule during trying times. (like the sort of trying times that happen when your "fix it" guy and personal attorney for years gets his home, hotel room, and office raided by the FBI and becomes a target of a criminal investigation.)

It's just funny how predictible this all is. Can't wait until we see the fire that causes this much smoke.

The point was to target chemical weapons storage and R&D facilities while also crippling Assads transportation network. Not to kill civillians or target Assads men (which are usually stationed oddly close to russian troops/mercs).

If we wanted to start an all out war with Russia because we blew up some of their guys we would at least do it in a more direct fahsion .

Erdogan is cowtowing. Al Jazeera is reporting that Turkey is 'welcoming' the strikes. I'll have to laugh if this does turn into a full skirmish.

US is already backing off comments and now saying this may be a one off strike. Russians aren't likely to do anything given the current targets. Russians are probably the reason the US didn't target any airstrips this time. Two superpowers taking swings at each other with only third worlders dying in the end, Baathist dictator gassing his own people. The usual bullshit, nothing new.

I highly doubt NATO cares about bombing Russian mercs though. I think NATO has already killed tens, perhaps even hundreds of Russian mercs in Syria.

Russia can't complain about it, because that'd ruin their whole cloak-and-dagger geopolitical play.
Did the same shit in the Ukraine. Young soldiers are pressured into working as mercenaries, they die, and they return in a bodybag and no one explains the family why where and when they died - and I think the family also gets less pay because he didn't die while serving in the Russian forces, just a merc you know.

Shit's fucked up. I think VICE did a docu on it, and when they visited a graveyard with a bunch of graves of "mercs" that died in Ukraine, some hoodlums with baseball bats showed up and chased them off the graveyard.

first of all that's not even true. secondly, context - he's talking about the US, so it could be inferred that he's talking about African-American slaves.

That's so fucking racist. The colonials were huge fans of trading indentured slaves captured from the European underclass. Why would you assume he's African-American just because he's American?

You're mostly correct, imo, although your 4-word response doesn't elaborate on your point and, left isolated, seems dismissive - in a purposeful, dickwaggin sort of way.

Thats correct, there were many white slaves (albeit, rarely in chains, though still whipped, branded, and executed accordingly up until the mid 1800s) - peeps should look into chapters 2 and 3 of A People's History by Zinn to clarify the origin of segregation and racial animosity as it's largely perceived in the U.S. Heres a high quality video of ch. 2: https://youtu.be/IeiPCuqgNyU

And the text: http://www.historyisaweapon.com/defcon1/zinncolorline.html

SJWs and anti-black idiots gotta understand: race isnt real and america didnt invent slavery... many white children were hanged in the UK for crimes against property (such as theft) and many more lower class white people were forcibly removed from their land as industrial capitalism developed. Street children and many other 'undesirable' whites were essentially deported/forced to flee their homeland.

what we now know to be 'race' developed over quite a long time, within a repressive system so as to segregate by skin color, and consciously creating divided classes by granting certain privileges to whitefolk & obedient blacks

I just thought it was absolutely incredible that our military leader and diplomats admitted it was because of his tweets.
Goddamn. You almost dragged us into WW3 because of a fucking tweet. Are there any adults in the fucking white house.
