Maybe the debt will be paid off by illegal immigrants, technology, a zero percent tax rate, or magic fairy dust, but the reality is that the US debt is increasing constantly, no one cares, and spending more money to reduce the debt will only lead to disaster.

Debt didn't work out too well for Rome, Germany, Japan, Greece, or Zimbabwe.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

The US has been doomed for her entire existence?
There is no point in time where genocide, slavery, imperialism, segregation, restricted suffrage, or capitalism existed and wasn't opposed.
America has a long, long history of attacking those who fight for freedom.

Pretty much. Opposing freedom goes all the way back to the founding fathers. There's a book called "A Renegade History of the United States" which covers this subject matter very well.

One of the primary arguments of the founding fathers for revolution was the refusal of the British to exercise social/moral control over the colonies. For instance in colonial times miscegenation was rampant in the northern cities. Interracial marriage wasn't banned until after the revolution. Homosexuality and general promiscuity were tolerated by the British as well.

Basically the Brits didn't give a fuck what colonists did in their free time so long as the colonies continued to produce a profit. Morality codes we're an invention of the new regime.

It's all a fucking lie. The Philadelphia Congress only had the support of about half the colonial population. Most of the urban working class in the north were loyalists because they had more freedom and had more rights as workers under the British.

What would be the worst thing to happen to us if the revolution never took place? They would have forced socialized health care on us? The horror.

I'm baffled that ancaps don't see the current state of affairs as a paradise; workers have almost no rights, property rights trump human rights, domestic and foreign policy are virtually private commodities sold to the highest bidder, and a police state exists to protect the capitalist order.

Is it that people aren't literally starving in the gutter, just dying of poverty-related issues at levels that occur in no other first-world nation? That you can't literally own people as property? That federal taxes aren't as regressive as state taxes?
I really can't think what the state could do to further the interests of the capitalist class.

Americans seem to have forgotten their history and have tunnel vision about the past.

Conservatives think the US never had black people before today.

Liberals think the US always had food stamps.

Americans insist everybody worked for free when there was no minimum wage.

Americans think the USA always had TSA groping.

Americans say everyone died when there were no seatbelt laws.

Americans believe North Korea is successful because they have closed borders.

Americans think either that the USA is the country with the most freedom in the world or think that the US was always a police state.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/236843/americans-say-china-trade-unfair-trade-canada-fair.aspx
This Gallup poll is recent and it does say 62% think trade with China is "unfair" however simply thinking something is "unfair" is a long ways from actively supporting GDP damaging tariffs.

It's insane to go around asking random people these questions period. 90% of these people didn't know what a tariff even was before Trump's advisors told Trump.

Concerning the NRA, it is opposite to freedom. look at it's 'devout' followers for starters.

Fighting for freedom is ongoing. while other countries have far less crimes, less
violent crime. Basic freedoms just exist. Capitalism is not inherant immoral
to freedoms, at least it should not be.

yea, I don't follow links like that. if we did happen to cease all realtions, trade with China, the US and world economy would suffer and ultimately fail as a result.

Except nations that are their own nations. Like nations that do not depend on the US economy.

>Capitalism is not inherantly immoral
A moral economic system would allocate wealth the worker who created it.
Capitalism allocates wealth to landlords and capitalists who contribute nothing, which is then used to further weaken the worker.

>>170596
Revisionist neoliberal horse shit.
Economics over the last several centuries have explicitly been an extension of warfare.
A common tactic includes dumping something (such as steel or fruit) at a loss until the enemy country's industry has collapsed. Then the industry in the foreign country is either purchased outright or necessary parts for it to restart.
Then the new monopoly is exploited for profit and geopolitical goals.

But also:
Irish potato famine where grain exported to be traded on the free market while the people starved, French and German famines around the same time where free market reforms removing price ceilings and trade barriers resulted in the rich eating their fill and merchants making a killing while the poor even in areas unaffected by famine died of hunger-related illnesses, the Indian famines where grain was again exported to be traded on the free market while the people starved.
