I also just picked up some of these. I'm not sure what it is about them that I really like, it might be the super fine salt, or that they're more savory than goldfish or cheez its. Idk, they're good.

Being a texan and growing up eating a ridiculous amount of mexican/tex-mex food, one of my favorite snacks, and one that I eat at least a few times a week is chips and salsa.
Just plain kroger brand tortilla chips are really good, and some good, spicy salsa. It gets so addicting once the endorphins start flowing, that I'll just eat and eat. It's hard to stop.
Normally I can control my calorie/portion intake with great willpower, but when those endorphins get me going it's so hard to stop when you should.
This brand of salsa is dank as fuck and is made really close to where I live.

That's Americans for you. They think tortilla chips and salsa is healthy, el-oh-el.

>>151588
The salsa is only healthy if you make it yourself. Otherwise, mass produced salsa tends to be full of salt. In fact I just double-checked the Doritos salsa and .56g has 9% of your recommended daily salt intake. Your standard Doritos salsa has about 300g, so if you eat half of that (very easily done when you're baked and have some some tortilla chips) that's like half of your daily salt intake, nevermind the deep-fried salt covered tortilla chips you're using to dip them with.

So in short, no, tortilla chips and salsa are not fucking healthy snacks. Avocado and some unsalted nuts, that's a healthy snack.
>>
Charles Ranhofer - Mon, 03 Apr 2017 11:32:14 EST ID:FyAdI3c1 No.151590 Ignore Report Quick Reply
>>151589
Correction, I mis-read cos I'm baked. But for every 100g of salsa (Doritos as an example), which is about a third of a standard salsa jar, there is 1.4g of salt, which is 20% of your recommended salt intake. Again that is just the salsa nevermind the tortilla chips. So yeah that is a lot of salt and my point stands.

Homemade salsa is really easy and can be much healthier for you. Though all that said I would fucking love some tortilla chips and store-bought salsa right now. I ate a huge Mediterranean salad for lunch, but pretty much immediately cancelled that out by eating 100g of chocolate straight after. I have the weirdest diet in that I eat lots of healthy food but equally lots of shit food, so I guess it balances out?

Anywanys my favourite junk food has to be savoury junk food like sausage rolls, mini pies, pizza slices, etc. The only sweet stuff I like is chocolate and fruit, the latter of which I need to eat more.

>cancelled it out
Yeah healthy eating doesn't work like that.

It's more like. You have money. You use it to pay the rent you don't have more money, however you now have shelter. Except good food gives you not being ill and better formed shit. You've used up more of your money/are still closer to getting fat. A good diet is about balancing getting enough good shit, not eating too much and enjoying your food as much as this allows. The same way renting a slightly nicer appartment might give you a better night's sleep or make the walk to work quicker, some healthy food is pretty tasty.

It doesn't balance shit. But as long as you're not getting too much shit, and you get enough healthy you're not going to be doing too badly.

I eat a lot of chocolate but most of it's super dark so actually it's pretty good. I still eat a load of veg, get my protein and don't get fat though. I don't eat too much shit. Also much like renting a 5 bed house for yourself, there is a point where too much healthy food doesn't do shit. "5 a day" is a compromise number, you get healthy benefits to 10 a day but after that more fruit and veg doesn't actually improve things.

Oh and fruit is good in moderation but really most of your portions of healthy should be vegetables. Even on 10 portions of fruit and veg a day you want 2-3 different fruit servings the rest being veg. Mix the veg up. If you're not using potatoes for empty calories, it's easy. Also herbs and spices are a winner here but these are calories so be mindful before adding 50g of chilli powder and 3 spoons of mustard to every meal.

no its fucking not, its full of salt and carbohydrates, useless calories, paired with the chips it reaches epic levels.
Fucking America... yall need a fucking mom to cook some actually good food for you or some shit, to have an idea what healthy means. Nothing mass produced, nothing full of salt will ever be remotely healthy.

They come out with these every easter, and they're the absolute best. They're only slightly different than regular sweet tarts, because some of them are a slightly softer consistency. So they dissolve a little faster, and you get more of the flavor faster. They're so dank.
