Soda is so disgustingly processed and sugary I don't know why I still drink it. Sometimes I would buy regular Rockstar or Redbull because they just taste better. Not as overly sweet. Then these guys enter this picture. Tried a bunch of them, the grapefruit and kola were great, other ones also pretty good but you can taste the retarded sweetener they put in. I don't want that shit! I was the refreshing carbonated drink like soda but more "grown up."

So I'm thinking, what is good to mix with carbonated water to make something that tastes less sweet, less artificial, and in general better than typical soda? Maybe even a little bitter. I'm just sick of drinking this garbage soda made to hook children.

I need a go to custom carbonated drink for while I'm high.

I often go for carbonated water instead of still, as I find it gives you that same satisfaction of drinking a carbonated drink but without all the bullshit. I'm slowly transitioning from a 2 liter of coke a day down to strictly water. At 15 I drank a 2 liter a day. 6 years later, I'm actually drinking more water than soda with maybe a can of soda a day. Never more than 20oz. I think I could actually go cold turkey at this point but damn does a quick can of soda really recharge my ass.

I figure I'll be solely at water in a year with maybe a random sip of soda once every blue moon.

Get an iSi and some CO2 chargers and you can make all kinds of stuff and not just carbonated drinks. Carbonate some juice, carbonate water and add natural or artificial flavors from The Flavor Apprentice, Capella, Mollinberry, etc, add some simple syrup if you want. You can do herbal infusions like blackberry and lavender and then carbonate it, pretty much whatever.

Bitters are good to add to give it a little punch and there are lots of different kinds.

Probably one every week or two max on average, mostly just when I've got a really busy week and I have to be awake, because I don't like the taste of coffee. I normally try to avoid them because I'll mess up my sleep for a day or two after, but it does keep me awake when I need to be awake.

Never seen Nos before, but I'll keep look for it next time I need it. I've only ever tried original monster, original mother and mother surge I think it's called, it has orange instead of the red on the can.

Mint. My fucking dude right here. If you add some mint and some bitters or even just a lime wedge to some plain ass seltzer you've got something healthy, and tasty to drink. Seltzer is the way to go.

Seltzer with that lime wedge, that sprig of mint. Fucking heavenly. So refreshing. Something about the way the mint feels is just so fantasticly refreshing with the carbonation.

Buy some cheap seltzer from the store, a bottle of lime juice and a bottle of lemon juice, and a bottle of angostura bitters. Most of this should be right around the cocktail section, but don't fall for roses lime or grenadine (unless you want to make mocktails). Just a few dashes of bitters and a squirt of lime juice and you've got a decent adult carbonated beverage.

If the bitters were 100% it's still just be 100% x 3 drops of bitters.

It's not relevent because so little bitters are used. You might be able to get a small cat drunk with one of those cocktails but they get blind pissed and fall off walls after a teaspoon of beer.

I read the pretension too, it was a showoff post. Don't get me wrong bitters and seltzer or tonic water is good shit but I think the implication is that somehow avoiding usual soft drinks is more sophisticated or something. I dunno, 11 year old me liked it about as much as coke or lemonade. As an adult I think I'd have a situational preference. The post did remind me that I have some Angustora in my cupboard that I've barely touched in ages and I should use it up. It's years past it's best before but I'm sure it'll keep fine.

Sugar or not, the acidity of the drinkd you mentioned are gonna fuck up your teeth long term.

Y'see the slightly grey/translucency around the edges? That's gonna happen if you don't cut out the acidic drinks. Take it from me, a long term alcoholic.

I'd recommend switching to tea, hot or cold (And hold the sugar, Beetus)

There's a whole world out there, you're bound to find something you really like. Import some shit from China, or Japan. Try Genmaicha.

If all else fails, you can just drink milk or whatever, or get veneers and carry on drinking your acid
