  1. Which one do you think is best? Not necessarily just orange but the entire lines themselves. 2. What's your favorite flavor in particular?

I know there a better brands out there but I wanted to stick with the 3 most mass-produced/widely available

i would always choose a glass bottle over a plastic bottle so in your pic i would choose the crush.

however if they were all bottled i think i would vote sunkist.

Honestly they're all good, but I would probably go with Crush.

Outside North America, maybe the US only Fanta is particularly common. I remember sunkist but not if it was any good. So Fanta by default even if it is basically cola's attempt to get Nazi money during the war, I have a soft spot for the "tropical" stuff which has peach in.

Orangina is more orange and less sugary soda though and comes in glass bottles but I've not seen that since last time I was in France I think. I guess it never recovered from the whole furry porn thing.

Orange Crush is the best, followed by Sunkist. Fanta is shit-tier. I also really miss Orange Slice.

That was just an image I pulled off the net but yeah I just meant the sodas in general. And I feel you, plastic bottles are my least favorite way to drink pop. To me cans and glass are the only ones that preserve the flavor even semi-properly. The warm supermarket 6 packs of plastic bottles suck. I swear half the time I buy Pepsi that way it's skunked before I even put it in the cart. Even when they do keep it chilled the plastic tastes wrong to me a lot of the time.

I'm a Sunkist drinker myself (orange and grape) but after seeing your post and running for cigs I picked up a bottle of MexiFanta on a whim. Fanta's my second choice out of the three anyways (sorry crush).

I didn't know the history of Fanta, that's actually really interesting.

Looks like Crush is winning so far though, I'll be damned.

I will go ahead and second the orangina. I was only recently introduced to this delectable beverage but after tasting that sweet nectar I simply cannot go back to regular orange sodas.

Yeah I picked one up last night, definitely better than from plastic or a can. As I understand it aluminum leeches certain molecules out of the soda and certain molecules from plastic actually dissolve into the liquid. Apparently it's safe according to the FDA but it certainly alters the flavor.

Glass on the other hand does neither and largely preserves the original flavor. My only wish is that all companies would use colored glass to defend against light exposure as well.

no, its not that at all. its because American soda uses corn syrup because of the government subsidies on corn (that's why almost everything has corn in it) while every other country uses sugar hence it tasting better.

Actually a lot of the soda in Mexico and certain other countries do use HFCS. Mexico didn't for a long time because their govt wouldn't allow bottlers to use HFCS (Mexico is a sugar cane exporter but they have to import HFCS from the US). The govt made CS too expensive to use but eventually the the US took Mexico to the WTO and won. Once Mexico was forced to lower the price of importing HFCS some of the soda companies made the switch.

And what we call MexiCoke is infact made in Mexico however it's produced for export only. The coke that Coca Cola sells in Mexico proper is actually made from HFCS now.

You are right though there most certainly is a taste difference between the two and HFCS is outright banned in a number of countries (Mexico just isn't one of them ironically).

Tried this exact brand today, holy shit it's good. Every soda should be made with sugar instead of HFCS, it really gives you that burst of flavor instead just a sludgy dull sweetness.

Also I think people would be more likely to cut back on soda in general because I took 3 sips and popped the cap back on and put it in the fridge for later, it was like drinking a small pile of orange-flavored sugar, like a super liquidy slurpee in a way. I don't know how to explain it without being corny, but you can really taste the sugar.

I dropped sodas years ago when I was working at a BBQ restaurant and had full access to the soda fountain every day. 3 cups of cheerwine a day and you start noticing it quick.

Now I get all of my liquid calories from beer.

Any time I go to the local Mexican restaurant, I always get a Pineapple Jarrito. Usually get a burrito too, and the servers always say, "Burrito Jarrito?" in a super strong Mexican accent.

even tho i love mandarins and orange soda their mandarin soda just tastes off for me and their piña/pineapple and fruit punch flavor is too sugary for me. Guava all the way.
