As a child, I was absolutely disgusted by the flavor of fresh tomatoes. Something about their watery, mushy texture made me gag. Now into adulthood, I can appreciate them. In fact as of lately I've developed a taste for fresh tomatoes and have been binging on them with the addition of a little salt.

What are some examples of foods which you disliked during childhood/adolescence and over time came to like? Anything to share?

I can't remember.

Put some pepper on them too, it's good. Also check how to make a tricolour salad. Sliced tomato, avocado and mozzarella in a dish of vinaigrette (salt, pepper, olive oil, wholegrain mustard, balsamic vinegar and maybe a little crushed garlic). You can put coriander and/or those green onion shoots on it too as garnish.

Apparently I enjoyed olives when I was a toddler, but can't remember enjoying them at all until I was around 20-something.

Took your advice and added some coarse ground pepper to three tomatoes. I wasn't disappointed. Thanks for the tip.

Are tomatoes addictive or something? I'm totally wigging out on them lately. I've eaten five of them today, three were for dinner, including an apple and a can of beer. I'm physically full right now but the craving remains.

Oh, wait. I took two 1mg Xanax and an Ambien earlier. That explains the appetite.

But seriously, tomatoes are fcking great.

Pickles. I fucking hated pickles, but when I got older I started not to mind them. Now I can eat an entire pickle, and I can't even imagine ordering a burger without pickles now.

I find that the older I get the better grapefruit tastes. I actually prefer it to any orange nowadays.
