hey guys i am Brazilian gun laws here requires all shotguns to have 24" barrels which makes them pretty unwieldy in an apartment so i thought of getting a pistol grip 24" pump shotgun (like the one in the picture) and keep in mind i wont get a lot of training since ammo prices here are ridiculous 3$ for a single 00 buckshot shell so is it a good idea to get the pistol grip ?

Home defence? You better know what's behind the walls of whoever you're firing that thing at because chances are it'll go through most of your house. You wanna wield that thing without a stock or much training? Can't say it's a safe idea. If you want something compact with good stopping power, get a .40 or higher handgun. Probably cheaper rounds and you can turn much more tightly around corners. Revolvers are a little less maintenance and reliable af.

calibers are heavily restricted in Brazil. I am not sure what he can get, but I remember reading an anecdote from a Brazilian guy who said he had a legal .38 so maybe he can get something like that

*rolls eyes*
Birdshot, hot load. Will be like getting hit with 50 1,000 fps .177 cal pellets. If you have to you can just shoot 2 more times and they'll likely die. Or close distance and fire once, total, and kill them.
