no veinlets allowed

I'm going on a long hiatus but can't help but get the urge to shoot up whenever I look at my forearms
opiates, ketamine, pcp, cocaine, literally nothing beats the rush and clear headspace of IV

Quality veins right there br/opi/. My veins only start to look good when I'm about to take breaks, makes things really difficult.

in a decade from now (or possibly earlier if you're going hard daily consistently), if you're using at least a few times a week, you'll be struggling to hit those 'strong veins'. Happens to the best of us no matter how good your technique and rotating practices are...

and I personally don't have amazing veins but they do the job. I've shot up a few people over the years and in my experience it's always girls that have terrible veins - tiny spidery little things. Even the biggest ones (i.e. elbow crook and the like) are near-impossible to see visually even after exercise + tourniquet. I promised myself to never agree to shoot up someone else after a particularly bad experience digging for a vein in this girl's arm, I felt like a monster as I fruitlessly kept trying for over 10mins but she wouldn't stop insisting me to keep going even though I could tell she was in pain. Ugh, fuck that shit...

I had terrible veins the whole time I was using - I got fat once I developed a habit and by the time I started hitting up I couldn't register reliably anywhere other than my elbow, and even that was iffy if I was binging (more of a problem with /dis/ than opi, since I'd shoot up so much more frequently). Eventually collapsed most of the veins in my right elbow, though my left worked last time I tried.

Fast forward 4 years I've quit opi and IVing, lost over 30kg, gotten in shape a bit and I can pop all the veins from my hand up to my elbow with a few seconds of squeezing my fist. Would have killed to be able to do that shit back in the day.

Yeah, but seeing isn't everything; I don't shoot regularly but I have done so - My mother knows my fascination with not only drugs but more-so medical exercise and we've discussed in depth about veins and IV procedure; she was an LPN and was part of an IV team, she said they would sometimes allow the patients who'd IV to administer the catheter themselves if the team couldn't easily enough simply because they knew their body. So I wouldn't feel too bad, because her veins could have been completely different, as you were saying, to your own..

But, also, I'm sure you tried other sites, no? And tried feeling instead of looking? I mean, I'm sure you did, but you left it out or were more inexperienced at that time.

Man this image...

I picked up a new kitty yesterday. They had to give her a vaccine. She kept squirming and they poked her over, over, and over. After the 3-4th time I told them to get a new sharp.

The look on their face was total confusion.

“Why?”

“That needle is microscopically bent to all hell; stab jabbing it in my cat over and over for no reason.”

“OK fine.”

>idiot ladies go in back room and obvious as day keep sticking my car with the old one for ages. Who even knows man...maybe 30 times?

Fuck these people. My wife does IV/IM/SubC animal work sometimes, and I told her you need to replace it after the second needle slip.

If it were me I’d replace it every time, but whatever.

Even vets don’t seem to replace needles.

Drove me straight up the wall man. Instant rage.

Dude no thats just a terrible vet/tech. Fuck them thats horrible I would have grabbed my cat and given my money to someone else. My vet would never even think of doing that. When my lil dude became diabetic (hes been in remission for 3 months!) they specifically told me if I miss or he pulls away before injecting to throw out the old needle and use a new one and thats for SUBCUTANEOUS injecting forget IV. With IV its insanely stupid to reuse even once as youre now poking bigger holes in your skin and also ripping your veins apart on a microscopic level since they tend to hook perpendicularly after repeated use which is why it will leave scars. Ugh they deserve to be fired dude, pins are so cheap and disposable theres just zero excuse for that bs.

That image is of a needle after it goes through the hard rubber top of a vial, not after it was used on skin
>>590972
You really don't need to replace it after every single time it pierces the skin. I can use a crappy little 30g needle 8-10 times before I can even notice it being duller or requiring more force to penetrate the vein, a 23 or 25g will stay sharp even longer. If someone has one of those digital USB microscopes it would be interesting to get a look at a needle post single use, 5 uses, 10 uses etc

30 times is excessive however, I'll agree. 5-10 "penetrations" (lol) would be the ideal max, or if you notice more resistance or a grabbing/hooking feel when removing it nb

Nigga u wrong. That is terrible practice. Unless you have a microscope built into your eyes theres no way you will know how damaging it is. 8 to 10 fucking times is really bad and youre bound to collapse veins and scar your skin up.

Rubber top or skin, it will still fuck up the tip after 2 uses. Just because you dont notice it doesnt mean it isnt damaging your skin/veins man.

That doesn't seem right. Skin is so soft relative to the metal of the needle, I can't imagine a straight in-and-out motion would damage the needle at all unless the tip hit something much more solid than a vein wall.

You don't understand the physical principles behind a needle, congratulations on being ignorant I guess? The material make up of a needle tip is incredibly small
