I mean you've got to have some purpose right? You plan on selling them later on? Or giving out one each to your 14 future kids? I mean there's got to be a reason you've got that many copies of the game.

I'm picturing a doomsday cult. What he does is he makes 14 people his disciples, kind of like christ. They pray at the altar of pikachu daily. They follow his every word.

And his word is good. Cause lo and behold each of his disciples will proudly hold their very own copy of pokemon emerald. The key to a life of true happiness.

Now of course? Like christ, it has to end in sacrifice. He will be captured in a pokeball by his enemies and forced to battle against his disciples to the death. Because they've all been playing plenty of emerald though? They've got this shit down and handle it easily.

So he dies at their hands. And they have to spread the word, the gospel of pokemon emerald to the land. They will write the holy book of emerald and they will seek to show people the way of salvation in his name.

I mean, its possible

OP is hording. He's going to buy all the copies of emerald so he controls the supply one day and can demand exorbitant fees. Only then will he realise he didn't bother buying any gameboy advances or first gen DSes and no one can play or use them and thus his scheme will unravel.

>>228987
I have to admit 14 emeralds is enough for the 2 games physically connected together dealie so he can turn into hyper sonic and chase robotnik through space.

My first guess would be ebay seller, or some sort of used game dealer. Pokemon games have always demanded a high resale price.

>>228993

Sort of like that retard that tried to buy up all the copies of one shitty M:tG card so that he could drive up the price of his artificial supply. Think he even tried to bribe pro players to use the card as to generate interest in the cards.

My mum broke my Sega GameGear with a rock when I was 10 years old because I had left a watch under a toybox. I feel that it has traumatized me. I tried hard in my 11+ and passed it so I could get a Gameboy Advance, the GBA being one of my last memories of a happy childhood. I loved Pokemon as a kid though and when I was 14, Pokemon Emerald came out and I bought it. My GBA eventually broke, I got new ones. I transferred all my Emerald Pokemon to Platinum and I don't know why, but I broke my copy of Pokemon Emerald, maybe because I didn't want to keep using the cloning glitch and cheating. Anyway, CeX started selling GBAs and games in 2010-2012 and I couldn't stop collecting them. I think this is due to my mum breaking my GameGear with a rock and my trying to recreate aspects of my childhood. I also have around 15 GBAs. I regretted not having an Emerald and missed it, so I got my mum to order me a copy off the net. Then CeX had some copies and I had the compulsion to buy them. Those 3 copies were with me during the best period of my life when I had a girlfriend. I have multiple copies of Pokemon as a sort of physical backup for them thanks to the Emerald cloning glitch. GBA runs on batteries, so if the electricity goes out or I am in the wilderness, I will at least have my Pokemon. Those Pokemon hold memories for me, memories of a happier time in my life. I would search high and low in pawn shops and car boot sales for Pokemon Emerald and other Gameboy games. This came up to 6 copies. Recently, CeX started selling GBA games again. Pokemon Emerald is quite popular so I had the compulsion to buy a lot of copies. Also, if there is an apocalypse, at least I will have my Pokemon and Gameboys to play on. I have thousands of batteries, so I am well prepared for an apocalypse like Fallout. They are all legitimate, I have been collecting for 7 years now and I can tell a counterfeit cartridge from a real one within seconds. I am only on cartidge 7, halfway, to beating all the Pokemon Emeralds. I may as well get as many different types of Latias and Latios as I can. I also hatched a shiny eevee, modest nature with a 31 special attack IV and decent HP which I cloned and beat all the Hoenn contests. Tough Umbreon, smart Espeon, cute Vaporeon, beautiful Flareon and Cool Jolteon. Thanks.

In conclusion:

Yes OP. But you're harmless crazy. You should probably get therapy and plan for the future to go right rather than retreating into the past. But hey, you're not hurting anyone who isn't you.

Funny though, sitting the 11+ around 2000 puts you in a pretty small group. I did mine in 1995 or 1996, so we might have actually gone to the same school. There was maybe... 3 areas doing it then? Each with a handful of grammar schools. My life actually went down the shitter around the time I sat the 11+ so I was at 2 different schools which both required you pass that test. The one with girls was better.

I went to an all boys school for my entire teenhood which I think has contributed to a lot of difficulties I face now, like not being able to interact with women and other issues. I wish I had chosen to go to the co-ed school now. All I feel in my life is emptiness and regret of all the normal teen experiences I missed out on with girls. I probably hoard stuff like this to help fill the hole of emptiness and regret in my life.

That's a pretty good observation about your habit, man.
Don't bog yourself down in regret though. The fact that you're aware that you have a problem is half the battle. As long as you're not in denial there's always hope.

I would recommend saving up for like a month's worth of therapy and see how it does you. It seems like a lot of people on /po/ had some kind of fucked up elements in their youth. But it is never too late the get the help you need, it just gets harder to figure things out the older you get. So start improving yourself sooner rather than later.
Hang in there, man!

Yeah all boys grammars are horrendous. A lot of guys get around it but if you're already reclusive it's going to make it worse. At the end of the day I went to a school with girls, had quite a few female friends and those girls only made my own issues worse. "Normal teen experiences" are a lie. As one of my friends at uni said "you wish your teenage years were like Skins but the truth is they're usually more like In Betweeners". It's true. What we believe everyone else had and we missed out on almost doesn't exist and most of us faced a lot of mediocrity. Some more than others of course but I think you probably over estimate how much you missed out on and I think fixation that probably does you almost as much harm as what you actually missed out on.

Ironically the advance gen is the only generation of pokemon games I haven't completed. I feel the franchise keeps improving albeit rather steadily.

mingled with girls. I now have permanent issues which you can probably guess. I will probably end myself within the next few years. There's not a lot of forums or sites let where you can just freely bullshit anymore.

leddit was my substitute from chans when it started, but then it went down hill after some years, and then I drifted away from it to rediscover 420chan still kicking and as free as ever.

>>229002

Brah. Have you gone after slightly older women? Like maybe 5 years or so.
I've only ever gotten along with a handful of people my own age. To many spastic ADHD screechers. Though now that I'm in my mid-twenties I've found a lot more of those ex-kids have mellowed out more and aren't so irrational. Or maybe it's that they've now had time to intermingle with more adult crowds, working in professions, and not limited to a school scenario where they're only exposed to more young adults without a clue.

Damn this makes me sad. Your hanging on to some things. And I hope you can let those go. You aren't doing something wrong, its just obssession like this isn't going to make you happy. If you can even just find someone in your life to talk this out with that'd be great. Cause the truth is you shouldn't be looking so hard emotionally into these pokemon games. You gotta let it go.

I hope you can find a way to. I know that life isn't exactly easy. And its not as though your childhood sounds idealistic. But you gotta look past the things that have happened and look towards the future, and you can make it bright. I feel like your looking for something cathric in these games and its just not there. I hope you find what your looking for and don't stop searching man.

The rest of my life is pretty rubbish. I'm stressed out with this move and other problems, seriously considering ending it all to be honest. I gave up after ORAS. New Pokemon just doesn't do it for me anymore. I have an obsession with Pokemon Emerald. Hoenn is my permanent Pokemon home, just like I consider San Andreas, Skyrim, Bullworth, Stillwater and Liberty City to be my homes. Places I can escape from my shitty life. I have managed to make it 6 months sober from alcohol thanks to kratom but I am so depressed.

There's always a chance things will get better.

At some point you die and it will be all over and you can get on with not existing for all eternity. But you should struggle until you die. Because then even if your life sucks you can say "I gave it my all" you can know you didn't fail due to lack of (sincere, not just token or undirected) effort, you tried everything and did the best you could given what you knew and what you could do. If that wasn't good enough then oh well. At least you'll be able to say you didn't let you down. 70 years left give or take, sounds like a lot but it's not really. You didn't exist for eternity, or 5 billion years, either or, and will then not exist for even longer after. 70 years is nothing.

Plus if you save a decent pension up you can go back to san andreas and hoenn when you're unable to walk and stuck in a home and need something to do. I figure when I'm old and crippled and shit I don't want to have burned out on gaming. I wonder what will happen to the internet or it's successor when we get to retirement age, suddenly the first generation to communicate with it regularly will have a shit load of free time.

In the mean time just fight until you can't fight any more.

It's all over, friends. I checked the site this morning and they had a copy of Pokemon Emerald in stock, however, today is the day I had to move to a new city far away. I had to get here by a certain time. I went to CeX quickly, but the queue was coming out the door. I would have had to wait half an hour or more. I don't know what to do. If I can't have all the copies of Pokemon Emerald, I can't have any. I could try and get the train down, but it may be sold before then. I gave £20 to me mum, so hopefully she will buy it. Maybe this is a good thing though. Maybe this will help me get over my obsession. My life revolves around Gameboy games, maybe this can help break the cycle. Why today of all days though?

Your hording is a symptom of your misery. You have to make your life feel less hollow so you're not attempting and it doesn't work does it? to fill the holes within with possessions. Though also the holes within can't be entirely filled, welcome to humanity make the most of your stay. I imagine that you're stuck in the past because the present/future seems bleak. But lets be honest you're not really happy. Life is pretty finite in the grand scheme of things so why not give the present and future a chance. Worst case scenario it doesn't work out and in 70 years you're dead and DGAF.

You're going to have to metaphorically eat shit to get through this but it'll be worth it. Get therapy, branch out.

If you're OP then no shit. If not then you're posting on a pokemon board of an 18+ forum. This board has more spergs than /1701/. Most of us are probably on the spectrum and it doesn't stop most of us from living a life.

Sure it means you're more aware of what your weaknesses are and where they stem from but it's the hand you've been dealt. We don't get to pick our starter in real life. Some of us get dunsparce, but even if that happens training the fuck out of him and catching more monsters will still get you ahead the same as if you started with hidden ability torchic. It's harder, you may never reach the same heights but it will get you ahead and eventually you'll be mugging bug catchers like anyone else.

So OP here. I kind of went a little nuts and finally admitted my problem. I am only keeping and completing 10 copies now. I conducted a little experiment on one of the worse condition copies and sanded the contacts down for a few minutes and put it in. It still worked. Then I put it in water and it still worked. This allayed my fears and I realised Pokemon Emeralds will probably outlast me. I still have four to beat, but the obsessive compulsive buying of copies has stopped.

You leave /1701/ out of this you.

>We don't get to pick our starter in real life
In all likelihood, OP's autism was caused by exposure to glyphosphate or the IVing of ultra high doses of mercury and formaldehyde straight to his brain as a young child. So it would be more accurate to say
>We shouldn't feed our dedicated special attackers 50 proteins

C'mon, man. There's no need for that kind of language.

I love /1701/ but the spergs is where it draws its strength from. Most of them have learned to cope socially. OP has high functioning autism but if he applies himself he can still be a lot happier than he is. I think he's smart enough to develop an adequete coping mechanism.

Also there was one study, it was retracted and don't you dare fucking "Big Pharma" it, because the study was funded by a law firm looking to drum up business so THERE is your corporate interest.

I'm down to 9 copies now. I just need to beat copy 7, 8 and 9 and then I can finally get back to training and breeding. I should be able to resist further copies from now on. I have 4 copies of Pokemon Pinball and 3 copies of Pokemon Pinball Ruby and Sapphire though. It's a good thing.
