hey /psy/

Just curious. Do you prefer tripping during the day or in the night? And why?

Give me your thoughts.

Personally I prefer dropping 1 hour before dawn

Day 100%

Although dropping at noon almost always makes LSD last into the night so I retreat inside, which is an excellent ending after an exhausting day of wandering around outside tripping

Pretty much always night. however, i usually mix with dissos and spend a lot of the trip in bed lost in the headspace and listening to tunes, lights out, or hunched over in front of my computer making music.

I like dosing around 3pm so I can watch the sunset at the tail end of the peak and then retreat inside like >>878548 said. Getting cozy, smoking weed, listening to some chill music and reflecting on the peak are great during the comedown.

I feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds this way. I like day vibes and the more colorful visuals daylight provides, but nighttime provides a more chill atmosphere and is perfect for the latter half of the trip IMO, especially when weed brings you back to a level similar to peaking.

The transition of day to night is a whole experience in itself and I like observing it while tripping, be it sunrise or sunset, though I prefer sunset.

i like tripping in the late afternoon into the evening, as night makes the trip way more visual in my opinion

Honestly it really depends on my mood. I don't have an overall preference for either one. If I trip during the day then I'm usually going to go about my normal day as if nothing is different, go to work, run errands, clean up around the house, I might go hiking in the woods but I'll get bored after a couple of hours.

Tripping at night I feel is a lot more homey and relaxing. I think I actually prefer dosing near sunset like another said. That way I get some daylight, peak around the sunset, and trip on into the night. Most of my trips have been at night however due to timing.

Depends on what feel I'm going for, but mostly night. For most trips I prefer to be alone to at least some degree. It's more lonely in a way, but its also a personal journey. It's like I explore the caves of my mind alone, and return to society to share what I learned haha

I like to drop heavy just in time to peak at midnight, then ride the waves the rest of the way. Smoke a little by dawn's light and ride it out. Hardest part is getting to sleep, lol, that's why my second favorite is just before sunset... even if it's 6 or 7 am, I can manage to fall asleep fairly easily. When I peak at midnight, i usually can't manage to sleep until 8 pm the next day or so... really gets quite draining, and obviously by then any oev's going on are quite an annoyance.
Actually, to me, the worst part of trying to sleep is all the shit moving around in my visual field, eyes closed or otherwise. It's always a miserable time trying to get my eyes shut for any period of time, especially in that lingering phase after a heavy trip. Only ever done acid, so i guess that might be my problem. I have a hard time falling asleep even under regular circumstances, unless i have weed... and weed + acid definitely is not a sleeping combo lol

My favorite times to trip are in the afternoon when it's windy and overcast outside (but still warm because I live in FL). Then, if it starts to thunderstorm it's cool, or if the sun comes blazing out it's also cool, or if the sun sets it's also cool.

Night. Always night. Daytime is too stimulating, too bright, too harsh The sun is like a giant exam light and makes me feel like an insect squirming on a lab tray. Night is rich, textured, mysterious, provides superlative atmosphere and visual stimulation but never forces them on you if you feel like diving inward instead. I need darkness so much that I pretty much give up psychedelics during the summer months because it's impossible to dose before 9pm or so if I want to have a night trip. I just can't fit that into my schedule most of the time.

Time of day isn't nearly as big a factor compared to how rested I am. Honestly, I only trip right after I wake up, anything else just isn't worth it to me. If I'm tired going into a trip, by the halfway point my brain is so exhausted, I feel fried and ready to be done, and that's no fun. Since I sleep at night, day tripping is the only way to go for me.

I think it depends on the individual and where you're at emotionally at that time in the day/life. As a kid I used to prefer tripping during the day, explore the city and surrounding cities with friends on a Friday or Saturday as I had zero responsibilities.

Now Ive realized how peaceful nighttime is compared to the stress and busy hustle radiating off people during the day. I also prefer tripping alone as removing outside stimulation allows for going deeper into your mind during the peak. Nighttime is so calm and peaceful. Very few cars driving by. Very few people. You get to hear the sounds of the world make beautiful music mixing with the static buzzing in the air.

But visually it's different at night and day. One aspect I like about day tripping is the visuals outdoors. You can see the Fibonacci sequence in all the plant life so prominently. You see an object morph into another into another into another into another until the whole world around you hss changed so much you no longer remember where you were. I find the nighttime allows for you to be more introspective with your trip and focus less on the visuals. And often times my trips goal is some sort of insight to my life from a different perspective. But of course thid can be accomplished during the day. And you can turn lights on at night.

I prefer tripping during the trip

But seriously, morning if I can help it. Just a lot of well-rested energy to put towards a trip makes it better, IME. I'm not a huge fan of skipping nights of sleep too often to begin with, so being able to trip all day and crash at night is a big plus to me.

I usually prefer night tripping because I feel like the drugs hit me harder. I also enjoy the vibe of night time. Increased darkness also means better visuals, and a mixing of open and closed eye visuals to allow intense, uninterrupted oev's.

Either is fine, but I enjoy night time more in general. At night it doesn't feel like I should be doing any thing so if I'm fucked up and being totally unproductive I don't feel bad.

Typically starting right when it's getting dark out or right after it has gotten dark out is when I enjoy tripping most. It's a very comfortable time that either leads to some good inward thinking or an adventurous night with others (or in a case like this, tripping on psychedelics or dissociatives). Tripping during other times of the day is also fine, but this one just feels the most "right" any time I think about it.

In terms of productivity and trip usefulness, I prefer tripping during the day. In terms of magic and beauty, I prefer tripping during the night but holy fuck LSD's 12-hour duration makes it impossible for me to sleep. 99 out of 100 times my trip gives me valuable ideas and motivation that I'll want and need to apply the next day. I've been taking it exclusively in the morning for a while now.

My favorite time to dose is around 2-3 pm so that I can watch the sunset at the end of the peak and get both night and day during my trip. After the sun sets is when I usually smoke some weed to bring back a bit of that intense peaking magic and then I can usually get some sleep some time after midnight. This timing has given me my best trips.

i've been holding onto some dmt for about 4 months now and i'm avoiding doing it, i've done acid about 10 times mostly around 250ug/150ug but something about dmt seems scary, i tried some without breaking through and the body load was 10x more intense than my cid experience.
Do you guys have any videos or documentary's that would help me get over this?
Pic unrelated but goat

I second this, minus the weed (I don't smoke). The timing works out perfectly for tryptamines. I feel like a full night trip would just get exhausting.
