/smoke/ Tobacco Discussion
just curious how old you guys were when you first used a tobacco product. stories are welcome too.mine's kind of funny looking back. i grew up in a hick family and my father was a dipper. when i was 10 years old i got caught with a can of skoal in my back pocket that i stole from my dad. i never even opened it up either, i just wanted the worn "ring" in my jeans that my dad had because i wanted to be like him. anyway he caught me, opened up the can, said "oh you wanna be a big man now?" he put a huge pinch in my mouth and told me "don't you dare spit it out." several minutes later i fucking puked everywhere.gotta say it kept me away from both dip and cigarettes until i was an adult. to this day i still can't dip, although i'm a smoker. i tried some of my friend's grizzly a couple years ago and puked almost instantly lol.
>>154844Since I was a boring teenager and never partied...I didn't try tobacco until I was 18. I also didn't drink until I was 20 (such a bad ass).
>be 14>take half pack from empty car with windows down>go for walk>light one up>head in clouds, sit down on hill, throw up>chuck rest over someone's fenceI sometimes wished I could get back all the smokes I threw out over the years. I'd have quite a few packs by now.
>be 14>take half pack from empty car with windows down>go for walk>light one up>head in clouds, sit down on hill, throw up>chuck rest over someone's fence
few months ago at 18 don't like cigarettes, cigars are OK, want a pipe, love me some e-cigs, want an e hookah. don't ever/ never have done other drugs
>>15484416, working for the DPW, bum a black and mild off a buddy, actually pretty good, plus it was the cigar my dad smoked when I was a kid. Occasionally got cigars til i was 18, when I stole a tin of skoal out of a golf cart is was parking.Goddamn, head in the clouds, actually got the nicotine rush cigars never gave me. Been dipping since then, no plans to quit. My teeth are still in good shape five years later
smoked a cigar when I was 12, inhaled and smoked it like a cig, promptly got nauseated and had to lie down
Do you guys ever have to bum their shorts off them? If you do what do you call it? I call it jeans because jeans are longer than shorts . >And I don't consider it a fiendish move to ask for them, I have no job atm
>And I don't consider it a fiendish move to ask for them, I have no job atm
What the fuck are you guys talking about holy fuck
a bustdown?
My friend from NY said that a short off of a newport was the "green mile" lol
>>154938I think shorts are stubbed cigarettes. So when you're done smoking, you stub it and have a "short". I think.I smoke mine to the end, so nb.
This seems like a mostly Euro thing, prolly because cig prices are high there?Never even heard of someone keeping an already an already half way burnt cigarette or smoking someone elses burnt cigarette. Unless they're they're underage or homeless...People finish their cigs here and if they don't they just toss em.
I am an occasional smoker. I some Djarum Blacks and I have recently been hearing older smokers of them talk about how they were better before the Obama ban and repackaging. So I decided to import a carton from Indonesia to get the better quality. Because I only smoke so often, this carton is going to last me a while, maybe a year. I was wondering if anyone had some tips to help keep them fresh as long as possible, or will I not have much to worry about as long as the packs remain wrapped. Pic unrelated
put them in the freezer
This may not keep them fresh per say, but you can push air into the non-filter end of a cigarette and freshen it up if its stale. Don't blow into it, instead push air into it, in the same manner you would blow bubbles into a drink with a straw
>>154421They are considered contraband. Don't get caught.
I had a three dollars off coupon for any type of camels,I had just a little over two dollars in pennies,I live about four or five miles outside of town,my only transportation is a bike and it's thirty degrees outside.I actually rode my bike into town to buy cigs with pennies and a coupon in thirty degree fucking weather...to make this topic about more than just me reevaluating my life; what "junkie" things have you done for your precious nic-fix?
In order of ascending revulsion:Smoked a years-old pack of menthols which belonged to my deceased schizophrenic uncle.Emptied a handful of crusty old butts that had sat under my porch into a corn cob pipe and smoked it, sometimes while fucked up on ambien.Lifted three $2 bills and used them to buy fucking marbs at a discount tobacco store.I know, I'm a piece of shit.
I collected butts from outside of my apartment. I also stole a whole carton of cigs from my aunt when we were having a huge family vacation.
>>154632I've bought smokes off of customers at my work. They are usually pretty cool about it, though. I'm sure they understand what it's like.
Smoked a dry cigar I found lying around as if it were are cigarette.
I ran out of smokes during a mushroom trip with some friends, so I decided to walk to the nearest gas station despite the fact that it was very dark out and damn windy as well. Made it there, got the cigs, took a wrong turn coming back, turned in to a floating ball of energy unburdened by memories or opinions or biases or any personality at all, stared at a beautiful tree for awhile, realized my feet had been slowly making their way back to the house, and the next thing you know I'm stepping back through the door and it's all fine. Good times, man. Good times.
So, explain snuff to me /smoke/Like, not the chewing kind, but the kind people used to snort.Anyone here ever do it? What was it like?Educate me.
>>154795>>154795Finer drier snuffs cause this problem less than others. Usually if I'm in public I'll use a white snuff as it only takes a tiny pinch with them and they're pretty much the same color as my skin. I also carry a handkerchief.Scotches and toasts are better in this regard as well. You'll find some snuffs make your nose run a lot more than others.
I have a tin of Frederick Tranter Burgundy, and I'm enjoying it. The chap in the shop was very helpful in helping me pick it out. I also have a tin of their Doctor Johnson. Has anyone else tried Frederick Tranter? I don't know how widely available it is.
>>154816Can't say that I have, I believe they're made by Wilsons of Sharrow now. From what I've heard of them though you'd probably really like most of Fribourg & Treyer's snuffs as well - they're very moist and most of them are heavily scented with flowers and musk and sandalwood and such.
I've been really loving these white snuffs. They're so strong that I don't have to snuff often or in large quantities if I don't want to. And they're really clean, I blow my nose once and it's all gone, and they don't really make my nose run. They take some getting used to but I've gotten to the point I can sniff them as hard as anything else without coughing, your body adjusts.
>>154980I'm curious how they're made I'd love if someone had some insight. Dholakia says it's sun cured tobacco, which would explain why it's so white (bleached by the sun), but sun curing ordinarily makes tobacco lose its strength.I've heard people speculate it contains rustica because of its fishy odor.It definitely has a lot of carbonate or SOMETHING in it, I was snuffing over a pot full of soapy water and the grans that fell into the pot reacted with the soap to produce some bubbles/fizzing.
yo guys, so my e cig got stolen, and now i have a bunch of leftover e liquid. is there any way i can still make use of it?
Soak your cigarettes in it or put it in shots.
Don't under any circumstances put it in a needle and inject it intravenously.
Drink it for science!Couldn't you make some nicotine bandages of that? Like the stuff people buy went they try to stop smoking.
Buy another e-cig
So.. some time ago I posted a thread because I was concerned about health issues and smoking, and ive stumbled upon this tobacco in my local grow shop, its supposed to be an additive free tobacco, which I hope is much better for you.Any thoughts on this tobacco? Also how harmful is this kind of tobacco really?inb4 faggot go smoke some newports like everyone
>>154955Well ive come to the conclussion that nothing is good in excess, may that be weed or tobacco or even broccoli
>>154963Why is additive free tobacco more unhealthy?I mean, true organic (not grown with the dangerous fertilizers) would be better, but a lot of the things they add aren't good for you.>>154964Also, this, it's surprising how few people understand this and practice it.
>>154965nobody said it was more unhealthy. it's as unhealthy as regular cigarettes. 100% natural organic tobacco brands still dump pesticides on their crops, you know.
>>154968But how come its equally unhealthy if it doesnt have any of those chemicals used in to create the nicotine delivery system? And no chemicals to make it burn faster.
>>154968>more chemicals to smoke>just as healthy as not having themMy mind..FDA organic is a joke, hence why I said -true- organic (as in, what you would imagine organic to be, not "oh yeah just do 10% of the crop"). Even still, I'd be more worried about the fertilizer than the pesticides.
>more chemicals to smoke>just as healthy as not having them
So how do you guys deal with the idea of getting cancer from smoking? It never used to scare me at all but just over the last few days I've been getting this sharp highly localized pain in my lower left lung when I: breath deeply, stretch the area, lay on my side. I haven't had it checked out or anything but I did some googling and the results are troubling. Idk I'm sure this thread won't get much attention because thinking about it I never gave even a moment's consideration to the realities of the health effects because I couldn't really conceive of dealing with them. I am about to rip a bowl full of Marlboro anyway. I am 21 btw. Smoking weed and tobacc only 3 years
I've cut back my smoking quite a lot and I've started vaping my weed very regularly (Aside from spliffs). I'm not counting on the CBD in the weed to keep me cancer free, but the price of tobacco and my desire to fully switch over to ecigs means that I'll be making a 30 gram bag of Port Royal or American Spirit is going to last me a very long time
>>154832>because it all will tell you you are going to dieWell, yeah, I mean, we're not immortal yet.Maybe the internet is teasing us because it's immortal and will live past 50-70 years old.
>because it all will tell you you are going to die
It isn't too scary if you say to yourself that you'll quit one day. I read the Easy Way to quit smoking and I can go months without a cigarette, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to stop sometime in their life.
>>154803I dip. Less chance of cancer
I plan on quitting either when I get kids or when I turn 35, and I don't smoke more than a pack a week. Other than that, apathy.
Been smoking for several years, and bought pic related on a whim several months ago. It's good, but I guess I was expecting something... different? I assumed it would taste different, but it just tastes like raisins. Do all chewing tobaccos taste similarly like raisins , or is it just this specific brand?
OP some brands are a little saltier or more tobacco like than others but yeah generally speaking American chew tastes like raisins.I've got some English twist tobacco on its way, that's a chewing tobacco but it's not all sugared up like American chew is. If you can find something like Cottonball Twist at Sam's Club that's not sugary either.
>>154346I see. I've tried Camel Snus: Mellow. I really enjoyed the flavor much more than chew. It's a bit salty and not nearly as sweet, with no raisin over-tones. Know of any chew-cut tobacco that tastes similar? Though the snus tasted good, I didn't like the feeling of the bag in my mouth, and when I dipped the snus out of the bag, the little particles were annoying.
>>154361I would suspect twist tobacco is like this but not having tried it I really can't say.If you like Camel Snus you'll cream your pants for Swedish snus. You can find it sometimes at tobacconists or order online. You can get it in a loose form that doesn't have bags, but even when it is in bags it's a lot moister so it probably won't irritate as much.I wouldn't say snus is "chew-cut" though, it's very finely ground. The consistency is something like play-doh or mud.
>>154363Depends on the twist. Specifically chewing tobacco twist, probably. Pipe tobacco twists can also be chewed.
>>154361Snus is an entirely different beat than chewing tobacco.
DICKS ALL OVER THE GAFF
I <3 this thread.
Can this also be anti-smoking ads?
This has potential
>>154928
I'm excited about this.
What E Cigs do you guys enjoy?
>>154805Yep, eGo battery and a carto/clearo/tank is the cheapest way to get set up for it. There's a metric shit-ton of flavors, companies that blend the PG/VG ratios to your liking, etc.
So for those of you with clearomizers, how long does it generally take you to burn through them? Because I'm emptying these 1.6ml bastards pretty quickly
so i cant get this right now gotta wait to pay the bills this month but soon i was thinking about getting an e cig to save money i spend 24 dollars a week on cigs and started looking around and e cigs look super cool. I smoke for nicotine and the ritual and this covers all that plus cool flavors and its alot better on the health(long time smoker)i found this anyone have any recomendations?! http://www.caterpillarvapes.com/e-cigarette-kits/bauway-boxed-e-cig-pcc-kit/It looks cool and seems like it has everything i need exept the nicotine but i might try a headshop around here just looking for some info if anyone has this!Peace
