They're actually called cigarette "tubes". wonder where they came up with that? They're pretty reasonable, my local tobacco dude sells 'em for $2 a carton. Oh, I hope you know you require a machine to put the tobaccy in the tubes, but they can be had cheap, too. Zig-zag makes one thats simple to use (though you might fuck up a first, don't be discouraged, practice makes perfect) and it's like $5.

Ignore my previous question about the heads, that was dumb in hindsight. I do have two-ish questions now, though.

First, what exactly does resistance effect? If I get the wrong one, will it outright not work with my VAMO, or will it effect the vapor, or what? I've never mucked about with mods before, have no clue what it means.

Second, I saw the vivi nova mentioned before a few times in this thread. Do you know how the heads on it compare to the kanger in terms of lifespan and how the tank compares in terms of quality? Worth getting instead, or go for the kanger outright?

My first e-cig was a Blu. It was alright, but not as strong as I'd like and the cartomizers didn't last long. Gave up on that thing for a couple years.

Recently heard my town has a vape shop, so I went and got what I believe to be an eGo Twist with clearomizers, and a couple bottles of liquid.

Got Smooth Tobacco, Lemon Cake, and some shit called Indian Paintbrush. I'm pretty sure the guy who owns the shop mixes his own flavors and shit. I tried the first two but I still haven't tried Indian Paintbrush.

I'm almost hesitant to, because indian paintbrushes are flowers (my state flower, actually!) and I'm not sure how that's going to taste.

But holy fuck I love this thing

Yep, eGo battery and a carto/clearo/tank is the cheapest way to get set up for it. There's a metric shit-ton of flavors, companies that blend the PG/VG ratios to your liking, etc.

Anybody smoke these bad boys? IMO they're the best cigarette you can buy, if they were discontinued I could easily quit.
They are hard to find though, they're hit or miss at gas stations around here (Raleigh, NC) but always at drugstores like Walgreens.
They're deliciously smooth, non-menthol, and not as light as turkish golds or silvers (or those god-awful platinums).
I just see very few people smoking them. If they're in your local stores you should give them a shot.

I also have seen the turkish design pack but it's green. I assume it's camel turkish menthol or something? Has anybody tried those? I'm not the biggest fan of menthol but with summer on our heels I'd be willing to give them a shot

just curious how old you guys were when you first used a tobacco product. stories are welcome too.

mine's kind of funny looking back. i grew up in a hick family and my father was a dipper. when i was 10 years old i got caught with a can of skoal in my back pocket that i stole from my dad. i never even opened it up either, i just wanted the worn "ring" in my jeans that my dad had because i wanted to be like him. anyway he caught me, opened up the can, said "oh you wanna be a big man now?" he put a huge pinch in my mouth and told me "don't you dare spit it out." several minutes later i fucking puked everywhere.

gotta say it kept me away from both dip and cigarettes until i was an adult. to this day i still can't dip, although i'm a smoker. i tried some of my friend's grizzly a couple years ago and puked almost instantly lol.

I was 15, in the bathroom with my mom where she used to smoke. I asked to go with her since I was curious. She gave me a marlboro and I coughed my lungs out the first hit. She handed it to me after and I took small hits. After a while I was buzzing hard and had to lay down, listening to Queen, fuck yeah.

anyways, she ended up being my first girl kiss later that day. Two days later I got marlboro green 100s and smoked them with a friend because "menthol is minty, therefore better, and 100s are longer so its a better deal". I smoked two and threw up and got soooooo sick, to this day i cant stand marlboro greens.

Hey there /smoke/

I've been a fairly consistent stoner for the last 3 years, currently I'm 21. For at least the last year I've been an every day toker. Recently I've decided I need a new job and have given up weed, sadly. Now I've never actually tried tobacco, not a cigarette or cigar ever, but since I started toking I've grown to love the act of smoking plant matter, not even getting high but just the act of smoking it self. I've been putting a bit of thought into trying cigars but I'm unsure, I've also considered shisha but I'm not sure if it's worth me investing in a hookah when I've never tried it either. I have a fairly obsessive personality and I never wanted to get stuck on cigarettes. I don't know much about cigars and I wouldn't mind a few opinions on if I should give it a go and what kind of cigars you'd recommend if so.

“I must point out that my rule of life prescribed as an absolutely sacred rite smoking cigars and also the drinking of alcohol before, after, and if need be during all meals and in the intervals between them.”
~Winston Churchill

Give it a shot if you want, blowing 5-10$ on a single to potentially discover a life-long hobby and pleasure isn't too painful.

If you do get into it, you'll have to do some research yourself and see what you like the sound of. I wish I could help more on the topic, but have only tried one and was gifted another by a friend. The one I tried was an Arturo-Fuente, Chateau Fuente, and I was gifted a Flor de las Antillas by a friend who told me it was considered the cigar of the year last year or something. As soon as I save up some, I'm buying a humidor and some starter packs. I reccomend both if you can get them/don't mind spending some money.

Honestly, if you do invest in a box, paint Pandora's on it, because there are so many brands, off brands, non-brands, and local rolls (if you live in or travel to the caribbean/central/south america or almost anywhere else) and such a large variety of makes, vitolas, gauges lengths etcetera, etcetera, that sorting through it to find what you like or dislike is mind boggling and part of the fun.

Hope any of it helps.

hi /smoke/, I started dipping a couple weeks ago and I was curious as to what brands and flavors you guys like. I've never really used tobacco much before I started dipping, only the occasional cigar or odd cigarette when I'm offered one. I don't dip very often (only 2-3 times a day, usually when walking to class/home) so one tin lasts me a while. Therefore price isn't much of a concern for me. So far I've tried three different types:

Skoal peach long cut, in my opinion the best tasting, gives a nice buzz

Cope long cut, nice and gives a good buzz

Grizzly wintergreen pouches, gives the strongest buzz by far (a bit TOO strong for me, but that may be because I have a really low nicotine tolerance). I like the convenience but the flavor is kind of gross and I prefer the feeling of loose dip to the pouches

Anyways I was just curious to hear what you guys would recommend to a noobie. Also dipping tobacco general I guess.

Cut in american snuff has nothing to do with moisture.
Though, finer cuts go dry quicker, and fine cuts will hit you quicker.

I started dipping yesterday after not using any tobacco for ~3 years or so. Grizzly Wintergreen Pouches. The flavor is fine, but I actually don't notice much of a buzz at all, at least compared to the hit I used to get when I smoked.

I expected more of a buzz but figure maybe I'm just dipping wrong or something. Am I supposed to put it in the middle of my lower lip, or the sides, or what? This is my first experience with dip, so any advice is welcome. So far I've only tried 2 but didn't get any kind of buzz at all (other than a tingle sensation on my lip).

Where you put it is personal preference, but change it up so it isn't only one area taking all the damage for it. I put it off to one side an inch or 2 from my front teeth and then a week later, I switch to the other side.

Pouches are weaker. Try some regular longcut. Grizzly wintergreen fucked with my mouth and made where it was in my lip pucker up like an asshole. I think wintergreen in general does that. I'd recommend you try copenhagen straight. It's sweet with a slight flavor that doesn't cover up the tobacco flavor and gives me a buzz still.

A buzz from dip is different from smoking.

If that doesn't work for you even with a big pinch, get some snuff. Haven't tried it yet, but it releases the nicotine faster.

I can tell you of two brands I know. Greengo, and Knaster. They're tobacco free and I sometimes use them to bulk out joints as I'm not a regular tobacco smoker. Greengo tasted like arse and didn't burn well at all. Knaster cherry flavour tastes good but it's full of twigs and bark which you have to pick out before smoking. Very tedious, and IMO not worth it.

Neither of these has any psychoactive effect beyond the carbon monoxide giddiness. I have yet to find a good tobacco substitute.

its also in dish soap, tooth whitening products, skin cream, moisturizers, and hair conditioners

So how do you guys deal with the idea of getting cancer from smoking? It never used to scare me at all but just over the last few days I've been getting this sharp highly localized pain in my lower left lung when I: breath deeply, stretch the area, lay on my side. I haven't had it checked out or anything but I did some googling and the results are troubling. Idk I'm sure this thread won't get much attention because thinking about it I never gave even a moment's consideration to the realities of the health effects because I couldn't really conceive of dealing with them. I am about to rip a bowl full of Marlboro anyway. I am 21 btw. Smoking weed and tobacc only 3 years

I'm not counting on the CBD in the weed to keep me cancer free, but the price of tobacco and my desire to fully switch over to ecigs means that I'll be making a 30 gram bag of Port Royal or American Spirit is going to last me a very long time

Depends what you want. Burley for nicotine, virginia for sweetness and flavor, turkish for flavor. Grow all three and make your own blend. What specific kind you get doesn't matter too greatly. Check out http://www.howtogrowtobacco.com/ for more info. I've gotten a lot of info from there.

>Many risk and protective factors have been investigated: the clearest evidence is for an increased risk of PD in people exposed to certain pesticides and a reduced risk in tobacco smokers.

I'm proud. Wikipedia is completely dominated by purely anti-smoking studies and seems to blame anyone who opposes Smoking Bans as tobacco fronts.
