Well, reports are that they're trying to trade off Kevin Love. Most likely for older players with high contracts. If they do that, they're in full tank mode. The roster is all young guys, so they could develop, but the Clarkson deal is trash and Hill, JR, Tristan, and Clarkson are all gonna be difficult to trade.

Coaching is literally killing Lue, I'm betting he walks away before the season begins. He has no hope to win another title as it is, might as well go full rebuild and hire a new coach to oversee player development (something Lue absolutely has no talent in doing so).

God damn the Suns are actually giving Devin Booker a 5 year, $158 million contract extension. I mean the Suns are one of the worst teams in the league so giving their best player a huge contract was the only way to keep him considering the coaching changes they’ve had the past couple of seasons. Let’s just hope it pays off for them even if they’re gonna get fucked by the likes of the Warriors, Rockets, Spurs, etc.

Are there any sports involving elephants? by Archie Clummlemock - Mon, 16 Jul 2018 16:23:20 EST ID:KQBIEXwG No.32391 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

You know how they have people riding around on horses and hitting a little ball into the goal? Do they have anything like that for elephants? Obviously, things would be a little bit different for elephants, they aren’t as common and expendable to humans the way horses are. So I doubt there is any sort of competitive leagues or anything involving elephants. But are there any sort of conservation groups that have the elephants playing physical games with one another as an enrichment activity?
I’d like to watch some elephants adorably play soccer, or something like that.
What other sports do you think elephants could participate in? They could probably do races and things. Maybe fencing? You could teach the elephants to use swords, that’d be badass.

>get beaten and robbed by unknow assailant
>immediately blame rich, famous boyfriend

You know shit's bad when even Superman is scared of this scenario. If it's found that McCoy had a hand in this, and he may well have, then he deserves whatever he gets from the league and the law. He's innocent until proven guilty until then, though.

The assailant came specifically for jewelry McCoy had given her in the wake of a break up and failed attempt to evict her. It's pretty damning. I'm all for IUPG, but this type of thing isn't unheard of (Rae Carruth). Vindictive women are capable of a lot, but I don't think this lady was doing the Jim Carrey from Liar Lair "kickin' my own ass" bit. Instead of talking about being scared of women Superman should be talking about how much he'd like to really have those powers so he could fuck up the guys who have/are ruining his ability to be flirt comfortably.

It'll probably come out that he set up the robbery because he's an idiot, but there's still the chance that she set this up to get back at him. They're already going through an ugly break-up where she's refusing to leave the home until a court orders her to do so (which is so totally a dick move for any tenant), and in July McCoy put all of her belongings in the driveway to see if that would work in getting her to leave for good (it didn't), and also stripped most of the security system at the home to further try and get her to leave. He also said to police when they showed up during that July incident that he was worried she might try something because of how serious domestic issues are for NFL players currently.

But yeah, most NFL players are dumb as rocks and don't have college degrees for a reason, so Occam's Razor pretty much says he got fed up and orchestrated some sitcom-level clownshow robbery. Still, though, until more facts come out it's possible that she set up the clownshow robbery because she knew that the public would immediately think he did it and inept Roger Goodell might suspend McCoy for the beginning of the season before the investigation is even over.

The circumstances certainly don't rule out that she had someone mess her up and take specific jewelry, knowing the rewards would outweigh the wounds and her own silence would keep the attacker anonymous. At first blanche it looks bad for Shady and I'm inclined to believe the girlfriend just due to the extent of the injuries, but my jaw wouldn't hit the floor if it turns out it was a setup.

I don't think they were keeping it a secret. Apparently the bruise was caused by some muscle not completely tearing off so he had a flap which they couldn't see in an initial MRI, and didn't discover until later testing when they looked at his ankle while in movement (which caused the flap to open up). Eaton seems cursed as a major leaguer, unfortunately.

Sucks Barry Trotz is gone but it seems like he was just a placeholder for Todd Reardon. Given that they didn't extend his contract before the season started and that he had a clause in his contract that he'd get two-year extension if he won the Cup, which was below market value, I'm not surprised he left for the Islanders and now he's gonna be one of the highest paid coaches in the league.

I think its stupid. Players will throw games. People will make money. Nothing is regulated. If you legally place a bet its like buying a scratch ticket now. Betting will be more corrupt than when it was illegal. I hate to say it, debate me if you think I'm wrong.

people that are just placing small-time money on shit (march madness brackets at work, fantasy football with your friends) won't have to hide it any more, and states can possibly regulate and make revenue off of it. I don't know how that would look or if it would be a good thing for the average joe fantasy player, but as a Floridian I think we're gonna head towards legalization post haste and I guess I support bringing more revenue to the state. high rollers/pro gamblers, meanwhile, will have more cities of sin in which to party and bet (see: Miami) and states will likely make more revenue off of that too. fairness of competition will not change, at least not until the incentive to take falls exceeds bonuses players and coaches already get for winning playoff games or making certain benchmarks (which I don't see ever happening). plus a lot of bets these days aren't "I bet the eagles will beat the pats" but more like "Foles will have 200 yds by the end of the 2nd" or "LeBron will have 3 setups to K-Love in the 1st 5 mins." really specific shit like that is a lot harder to engineer if youre worried about the integrity of the game being affected. and if players were somehow incentivized to fulfill these weird, specific parameters the games would become so chaotic that I'd say fairness would be restored just by virtue of everyone having such disparate goals. a given team winning would be incidental, not rigged, lol.

and then for the low-life sleazy gambler nothing's gonna change. if you're not a playboy (and thus can't get credit from a casino), bookies are still the only people around that will offer credit, and once this is all regulated and sanitized they're still going to have their market of people who otherwise couldn't gamble at the more reputable venues (which is still a sizeable chunk of people).

the angle i find more interesting is how this will change sports media. they've already had vegas "insiders" on places like ESPN explaining how lines are made or whether or not you should take the points and shit like that, but I think now gambling advice is gonna explode even more as a niche in the Sport Media Talking He…
