You know what? Cousins needs to prove that he can be the qb for the long term though. He's had all of one really good season. And if you can't at least consistently get to the playoffs? You're way better off crashing the team out for a couple years and building your talent pool.

Cousins will get his payday. And it'll likely be somewhere else if he can't drag the skins kicking and screaming to another playoff berth. But hey, good qbs can consitently make it happen. Look at some of the teams rodgers has even dragged into the playoffs.

I still have my doubts that cousins is really a franchise qb.

With the QB market the way it is right now like the Bears signing Mike Glennon for a 3 year $45 million deal and the upcoming QB class not being very strong, I believe signing Cousins to a long term deal should be the Skins' top priority. He's gonna get a big money contract next year whether he stays or goes.

As a follow up, Latrell Sprewell and JR Rider(!!!) are gonna be in the league, too. Isn't JR Rider like 300 lbs these days? This league is going to be wild. They have to convince T-Mac to do this, I bet he would be like the MVP of the league.

Been thinking about getting into longboarding. Been thinking about making a foldup longboard.

I am a bit confused about the different kinds. Some are longer, some are shorter, some are closer to the ground than others. What kind do I need?

I'll basically use it for commuting/getting in and out of town etc. In the UK that means starting down a pavement, stopping to cross that little bit of road, starting down the next pavement etc. And also, general longboarding thread.

Longboards with different shapes do different things. Google will tell you everything you need to know. There's a lot. I longboard for fun. It's nice once you get the hang of it. Reminds me of snowboarding.

>We're excited to announce that we just submitted a new petition to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) requesting the vacation of a portion of Occidental Avenue South to allow construction of the SoDo Arena. If approved by the City Council, this conditional street vacation will finally put us in a position to work with the NBA and NHL to acquire teams for Seattle.

They're already going to privately finance the arena, worked out an agreement with the other professional sports teams so there are no schedule conflicts, and wouldn't start vacation and construction without approval and first being able to acquire a team. The downside is that this is going to affect the Thunderbirds considering they're one of the highest drawing teams in the WHL and they've been around for 40 years. Maybe they can still co-exist since they play in Kent but who knows. The Sonics being back in Seattle would be nice but I dunno which team would relocate unless the NBA grants an expansion team like the NHL did with Las Vegas.

Great game between the US and DR tonight, US-Japan nest week should be great. Here's hoping this year's WBC is a success because the games have been pretty entertaining despite so many of the best players not playing in the tournament. In a way it's kind of like watching MLS: if you're a football/soccer fan already you can get past the lack of top-level talent if the players give a shit and the games are exciting.

Good news. I know it's been a very long time coming, so I'm glad they finally got it done. I guess that only leaves New England without a soccer-specific stadium either existing or in the works. Don't know if that's ever going to change lol.

Also, bump for MLS opening weekend. Wonder how Minnesota and Atlanta will fare this year.

Yeah I'm glad that they're finally building their own stadium. As much as I'll miss going to games at RFK Stadium and it has a rich soccer history there, the United should have gotten out of there a long time ago. New England has been trying to get a stadium built but there hasn't been a lot of progress other than exploring their options.

Vancouver was looking to build a soccer-specific stadium on the city's waterfront but because of protests opposing building the stadium on one of the last undeveloped parts of its waterfront and affecting the historic Gastown district, team ownership committed to staying at BC Place instead.

Seattle, New York City FC, Minnesota and Atlanta also don't have soccer-specific stadiums either but with Seattle, NYC FC, Atlanta (which will move into Mercedes-Benz Stadium in July) as well as New England, they are all owned partially owned by owners that also own and operate the stadiums they play in. Minnesota is already building a new soccer-specific stadium in St. Paul that will be completed next year.

I'm looking for a website that gives daily information on sports teams. It needs to be written in a way that a person that is completely uninterested in football could understand.

At my job all of my coworkers and my boss love college football. I don't give two shits about it. My co-workers spind a large portion of the day talking about football stuff and my lack of participating is making me into an outcast. Normally this wouldn't bother me but I'm noticing that my co-workers in the football clique seem to get extra perks from my boss. I feel that if I could find this tool I would be able to participate in the conversations without investing time in something that I am not interested in.

I know the personality you're talking about, but I don't think Saban fits in that category. I'd place him alongside someone like Urban Meyer, who's also insanely intense and dedicated--a total perfectionist in what he does. Obsessive, neurotic, and a bit psychopathic describes coaches like Jim Harbaugh and Mike Leach, coaches who can't control their shit and are always a little off. At the end of the day, Saban might be high-strung perfectionist, but he is a professional. Harbaugh always seems like he's on the edge of snapping and heading for a loony bin.
